@williamsey shut up you mug, his writing is incredible, his music is amazing hes passionate about music and hes real. playing guitar, singing and keeping time isn't as easy as it looks, this songs easy to play, but hes done many that are tricky to sing, play and keep time all at once. I'd like to see you write lyrics better than 'music when the lights go out' or 'death on the stairs' or 'bucket shop' !!!!

@carloda001 pete refers to the novel "what katy did" by susan coolidge, it's about a girl growing up. katy and mrs. brown are characters of this novel. i'm not quite sure why he refers to "katy", but mrs. brown is clearly a personification of heroine.

It may not have been written about Kate Moss, but if someone interprets it to be about Kate Moss, then thats what it means to them. Personally, I agree with you, it's not about Kate Moss, at least, not to me..

Best pete doherty song in the world, perfectly grasps what its like loosing friends and girls and gaining only a heroin habit, fair bit of song is about heroin as much as it seems to be about the girl.
