one of my favs, sometimes wish i was born a few years older so i would have been alot more educated in some of the greats i missed in the early seventies and still finding outabout
lukin at all comments,i werra Wigan mon mesen but wherever thee pleyed it and still pleyit tharn all still love it which is respect to an awesome slab of northern soul KTF
the 1st pic on here is very early wigan, there's an anglia in the corner of the pic, not mine but i remember the 3 hr drive from rhyl to wigan in my anglia in those early days, hardly any motorway then, top speed 60 mph with 5 of us in it, then one night on our way after an S & S by drug squad, the engine seized , so dumped it just off the m6 in warrington and thumbed to wigan, few days later returned for the car, stripped to a bare chassis !!! oh those were the days, brill sound ..ktf ...CAL .
re the hillman imp ....... russ winstanly is still driving around the shoping centre in it as part of his dj act it'l never be over for him lol. not as long as there is money to be made , and now we do know why
What does he mean when he sings: "but the sad part about it - is neither will I"? They'll never know why he loves his girl, and neither will he - but why does that make him sad? Or is she not his girl and he is just admiring her from afar??
Yes and looks like a Ford Anglia, remember the ones with the sloping rear window???
Cant see my old Morris Oxford, with the bench seat, prefect for the portable cassette machine that used to site between me and my mate all the way from Oxford to Wigan in the mid seventies
..always seemed to be upstairs at the Casino buying/selling records when this came on and regardless of the deal just had to get on the floor...perfect dancer KTF...
lets keep it simple....like the Mafia say....'La Cosa Nostra'.....................'This thing of OURS'.......don't matter where we heard it....we all still love it and are part of the most underground love of music scene ever......KTF.....Keep on Keepin' On.....
If a tune ever got the heart pounding this is it. Wot a dancer, yeah and we only had to travel 5 miles to the casino
