  • my friend has tried to kill herself several times so when i first heard it in my dads car i was about to cry. I don't want to lose her...and i don't want to lose myself...we keep each other alive

    *cries*

  • heard this for the first time in my brothers car when i was going through a rough time, and held back the tears but it made me rethink everything<3

  • just saw these guys live in denver with mc chris... im glad i had a scout trooper helmet on .... no one saw me cry

  • Suicidal thoughts are evil. Evil in the fact that "it" tricks you into that there's no hope. It's a vindictive bastard that you have to fight. Give it time. Hope is not lost. Tell suicide otherwise.

  • wait im confused what was his secret

  • @pinklvr2784

    probably gay.

  • I interviewed MC Lars the other day shame we couldn't hang around for his show it would of been good to see him perform he's a very nice guy and has some very interesting opinions

  • Seen this live last night :') Was amazing :) Had a tear in my eye :')

  • This is the most beautiful song I've ever heard. Heard it live last night and could have cried.

  • @mikelazer1 same was a good gig and i was stood there last night, found it quite emotional

  • I just heard this song for the first time and I almsot cried.

  • wow ....deep

  • "They broke down the door and found you lying on the floor

I took the Amtrak up the coast, your mom met me at the station

I went to see your house and photos of your graduation

We drove to your grave, no tombstone where you lay

Your freshmen yearbook's by your bed and your room's in disarray"

this part gives me chill bumps every time, he made it really hit home with that part and he made me think about that shit.

  • Fuck Suicide!

  • @Kalilalex fuck u muther fuka

  • @fraggledude555

I may be wrong but I think he meant suicide is a terrible thing that no one should do. Not insulting those who have or will.

  • @Kalilalex fuck u muther fuka

had to let my anga out

  • imma do this for australias got talent or something for my audition so I can help MC lars spread the word about suicide prevention. R.I.P. To all who extinguished the spark of life. You will all be missed. You will live eternally in the hearts of your loved ones. peace.

  • verry sad song :,,,(

  • so i'm guessing patrick was homosexual but couldn't tell his parents because he was afraid of what might happen so he killed himself?

  • @cowartm Yeah - that was basically the story. :(

  • i heard thins song yesterday on a road trio and thought it was amazing..but my brother couldn't figure out who it was by...amazing song

  • I love the lyrics now.

  • This isn't music, this is poetry.

  • oh Lars )':

  • Mike Cremers June 9, 1987 - February 7, 2009. Happy Birthday to my lil brother. I miss you so much today and every day.

  • Pat sounds like a cool guy, I think I would have liked him.....

  • Damn this thing goes so deep

    I love this song

  • Im glad he made funny, sad, and deep songs. Especially this one. Great Song! ^_^

  • wow amazingly good beats! i really hate the rap and music now adays but this was really soothing....=3

  • one of his better songs. one of the few with a real meaning to it. kinda weird coming form such a upbeat artist...

  • not sure why, but this song reminds me of whats going on? by zebrahead. Both are great anyway.

  • Aw, the sarcastic laughter of Pat. Made me laugh, he seems cool.

  • i saw these 3/4 weeks ago with zebrahead :D!

  • miss you joe!!

    rip buddy :(

  • "depression and dilution, maybe suicide was the answer but it wasn't the solution" thats so sad

  • that line is so powerful!!! love it!

  • this makes me sad, especially since a really close friend to allot of people in my town committed suicide :'( R.I.P.

  • The saddest part of this song is the part when they are talking about the recording equipment taking up most of the room and Pat says "It's no problem man, I love you." and Lars says "I love you too Pat." It's just so sad! DX

  • this song makes me sad

  • me too

  • I totally agree

  • Depression and regression made your life a living a hell.

    That's pretty powerful lyrics

  • @jinglegirl10

And it's absolutely true. So many young people can't get the help they need. Everyone of them needs a song like this.

  • am i correct in that the conversation with pat was recorded before his suicide?? because when i first heard that i thought he was still alive but then it hit me.

  • Yeah, it was recorded before he killed himself

  • @theholyfork No, they had the conservation after he killed himself. Which is totally possible through the power of MUSIC

  • @Giesus3

    It's surely wasn't recorded afterwards...

  • @Giesus3

    Agreed.

  • @Giesus3 that was recorded right when "mc lars" got his recording gear.

  • God, that "We could have won it and moved on from it" line always kills me. It's so sad.

  • this is amazing without a doubt

  • this reminds me of my friend caleb... :(

  • most of mc lars songs are funny, but this one is very powerful and makes me sad :'(

  • it reminds me of my brother...

  • it's about his best friend comitting suicide you ass

  • I know okay, it's obvious, it's just hard to write a song when the subject matter is so close to you and so serious without making it seem like a joke. Especially a rap song. But like I said after I made that comment, I've listened to it again and the rapping is growing on me.

  • I take that back, I listened to it again and I'm starting to like them...

  • Comment removed

  • I ahd the same thought!

  • Cool tune...no doubt.

  • I love this song. So powerful. I know my friends are there for me, and I'm there for them.

  • This song is so sad but it is also a great song so i cant stop listening to it bu that just makes me sad

  • So, to the person who said to stop reading into the song I don't think these people are devaluing it or making it all about them. I think having personal experience makes the song more visceral.

As someone who struggles with suicidal thoughts, I listen to this a lot. It reminds me that there are people whose love I don't realize who I would hurt. It keeps me grounded.

  • @SelkieQueen - Your words made me cry almost as much as the words of this rap. I may no longer be in my 20's (life was better then), but I sure do wish it wasn't damn near impossible to get help without having money. There is virtually NOWHERE to turn if you're suicidal and poor. Maybe that's the stark reality here in America for reasons that "polite society" just doesn't want to acknowledge? If one is depressed and broke in this country, then they are DISPOSABLE!

  • this song makes me sad, but kind of happy in a way, cus it makes me think of my friends who brought me up when i was down, adn even sometimes considering suicide (don't wory youtube society, i'm good now, lol)

  • this sad is soooo sad :/ I've lost 2 friends to suicide, :[

  • omg this song is so touching it made my cry... :'( this song is really sad

Suicide is never the answer OR sulotion!!!!! R.I.P

  • This song came on the radio as I was driving to work a couple of weeks ago. I didn't recognize it but decided to listen anyway and I almost broke down in tears on the highway. One of my brother's best friend's and one of the Earth's funniest people took their own life just a couple of years ago. We miss you, Jonny T.

  • love this sing!

  • gives me chills :( not a good song to listen to when you're sad

  • Or when your friend just tried to kill herself...

  • i heard this at work and i started to cry. it reminds me of my friend who's ruining his life as we speak, and worst of all i am in love with him.

  • This son g is inredibly sad.

  • i like this song but its alot diffrent than his other stuff i think

  • Great song...I wonder what his friend's secret was. Coming out, maybe?

  • exactly what i thought

  • facepalm

  • i heard that he said that that was his secret

  • sad song :(

  • One of the best songs produced i felt those lyrics and it killed me My prayers go to the family and Lars

  • ...[sniff]..

  • wow.. great song, but rather sad. Makes me think of a girl I knew who killed herself. :/

    RIP Kimmie.

  • What drove the boy in this song to drepression?

  • I read he was bipolar and forgot to take his medication with him to Germany

  • This is an amazing song. "Suicide was the answer but it wasn't the solution", so mind-bendingly true.

  • This song hit me like a ton of bricks the first time I listened to the album. Just out of nowhere, this beautiful, tragic song. I love it though.

  • Right after a really funny song, too - the one about his drummer's house being messy

  • Good god, thanks for the depression. No, really, great song... but it's so sad.

  • The Patrick Wood he talks about is real right?

    Suicide sucks + ∞

  • Yeah hes real

  • He was Lars's Friend, The voice sample of two people talking near the end is lars and pat recorded in 2003

  • .....

  • very sad

  • listen to more lars. he uses tons of references, and i think the way he incorporates them is great. they make his songs really entertaining

  • You don't listen to much underground rap? That's a very popular line to sample. Sage Francis, Atmosphere, Jedi Mind Tricks to name a couple.

  • Sage Francis' hometown is like ten minutes from mine. He's from Providence, RI.

  • This is vaguely depressing.

  • amazing.

  • MC Lars doing a song about suicide, that was surprising. But, it's so amazing. I love it <3

  • :'(

  • my name is joe,im a 17 yr old dude and i cry every time i listen to this song

this is prob the only song on the planet i could really get with,if that makes any sense.

  • this song is amazing :)

  • outstanding lars....this is a great song that has a heavy message....

  • phenominal song

  • Love this song. its really deep.

the part wen they talk waz a nice lil break down

  • This song is sooo sad. That one spoken part almost made me cry. :(

  • Yeah, I remember the original on RPF, was so surprised when I heard this song and heard he committed suicide, really sad.

  • One of my new favorites of all songs.

  • That was a great song.

  • I can't stop listening to this song. It's a great message, and really deep

  • Amazing song right here.
