my friend has tried to kill herself several times so when i first heard it in my dads car i was about to cry. I don't want to lose her...and i don't want to lose myself...we keep each other alive
Suicidal thoughts are evil. Evil in the fact that "it" tricks you into that there's no hope. It's a vindictive bastard that you have to fight. Give it time. Hope is not lost. Tell suicide otherwise.
I interviewed MC Lars the other day shame we couldn't hang around for his show it would of been good to see him perform he's a very nice guy and has some very interesting opinions
imma do this for australias got talent or something for my audition so I can help MC lars spread the word about suicide prevention. R.I.P. To all who extinguished the spark of life. You will all be missed. You will live eternally in the hearts of your loved ones. peace.
The saddest part of this song is the part when they are talking about the recording equipment taking up most of the room and Pat says "It's no problem man, I love you." and Lars says "I love you too Pat." It's just so sad! DX
am i correct in that the conversation with pat was recorded before his suicide?? because when i first heard that i thought he was still alive but then it hit me.
I know okay, it's obvious, it's just hard to write a song when the subject matter is so close to you and so serious without making it seem like a joke. Especially a rap song. But like I said after I made that comment, I've listened to it again and the rapping is growing on me.
I love the idea of this song, I love the female chorus, but that guy rapping just ruins it. The rap lyrics are horrible to me. Especially the end "suicide sucks" was just immature.
So, to the person who said to stop reading into the song I don't think these people are devaluing it or making it all about them. I think having personal experience makes the song more visceral.
As someone who struggles with suicidal thoughts, I listen to this a lot. It reminds me that there are people whose love I don't realize who I would hurt. It keeps me grounded.
@SelkieQueen - Your words made me cry almost as much as the words of this rap. I may no longer be in my 20's (life was better then), but I sure do wish it wasn't damn near impossible to get help without having money. There is virtually NOWHERE to turn if you're suicidal and poor. Maybe that's the stark reality here in America for reasons that "polite society" just doesn't want to acknowledge? If one is depressed and broke in this country, then they are DISPOSABLE!
this song makes me sad, but kind of happy in a way, cus it makes me think of my friends who brought me up when i was down, adn even sometimes considering suicide (don't wory youtube society, i'm good now, lol)
This song came on the radio as I was driving to work a couple of weeks ago. I didn't recognize it but decided to listen anyway and I almost broke down in tears on the highway. One of my brother's best friend's and one of the Earth's funniest people took their own life just a couple of years ago. We miss you, Jonny T.

"They broke down the door and found you lying on the floor
I took the Amtrak up the coast, your mom met me at the station
I went to see your house and photos of your graduation
We drove to your grave, no tombstone where you lay
Your freshmen yearbook's by your bed and your room's in disarray"
this part gives me chill bumps every time, he made it really hit home with that part and he made me think about that shit.
