  • Very nice batch of records. I'm also trying to get all the good albums in the series. Are you missing some by now?

  • When your ready to go to college and want to sell 'em let me know!!!!!!

  • Awesome collection!! I've got the Beatles ones and the Gerry & The Pacemakers ones. Had Gerry autograph my ferry cross LP last year when he visited Canada!! Just bought Staccatos for 10$ locally. What a DEAL. Great albums!!!

  • Great collection! have you visited our site about the 6000 series?

    capitol6000. c o m

  • Great collection! have you visited our site about the 6000 series?

  • A copy of that Swinging Blue Jeans LP just went for $516 on e-bay

  • Great Collection.

  • :D nice collection> Dave Clarke five, the most common 6000 releases.

My fav are the Hollies, the Yardbirds and Downliners Sect of your bunch, I have not had the Sect LP's ..they are hella rare, you are right. Do you ebay for some of those, because that's pretty lucky to have just found them rummaging. My fav 6000 is Having a Rave up. :D

  • I have to say you are very lucky to find all those. I have about half of those albums which I found in the early 80's. I'm also very lucky to own a copy of The Staccatos two Canadian Capitol albums. I have almost all the Dave Clark Five except for three albums. I wish Capitol would release those on Cd. Anyways it's great you have them.

  • Thanks for showing these. I'm not sure I've ever seen any of them so it was great to find out that they even exist.

  • Interesting that the Canadian "Long Tall Sally" cover is identical to the US "Beatles Second Album" cover. "Long Tall Sally" is track 1 on side 2.

  • I have Beatlemania!

  • nice collection..cool that you were playing the Yardbirds in the bckground while narrating..couple things..Jack London and the sparrows were not from toronto per se most of the boys lived in oshawa, Jack London aka Dave Marden is a rel estate agent there still..Of course Jerry Edmonton is now gone and his brother Dennis [mars bonfire] has not performed in some time. The first yardbirds lp while not a 6000 series was five live...again nice collection..

  • Great collection, I collect the 6000 series as well. Low budget line, actually, but cool. Especially the unique covers. I've open sealed originals before, and they don't even have inner sleeves, just the disc shoved into the sleeve. Love the Yardbirds cover w/both Page & Beck. Is the Sparrows LP good? I'm guessing it's just stardard beat music. Pre-John Kay. Love their later psych effort (single) on Columbia, Tomorrow's Ship/ Isn't It Strange.

  • Well the early 6000 series LP's came with a white inner sleeve that said Pathe on it in Red. I've never had a sealed Capitol 6000 album, i'd love one though. The Sparrows albums is very merseybeat influenced... they sound british even though they're from Toronto

  • WoW. Nice Collection There.

  • If you love '60 garage, watch this

The Outsiders, a Dutch band from Amsterdam

Alot of material here on YouTube

    Enjoy!

  • Impressive set of records.

  • How did you get such a hot collection? Rich or lucky? I never seen so many Dave Clark 5 LPs before!

  • I really really like your collection man! Fantastic stuff, very nice looking vinyl and in very good shape. I hope you check my stuff out. and by the way, Robbie Lane and The Disciples still play today. I have seen them play 3 times at a church hall that my dad runs. They are a great band to see live.

  • A lot of these artists' U.S. releases were on labels other than Capitol. Dave Clark 5 - Epic, Gerry & the Pacemakers - Laurie, Animals - MGM, Manfred Mann - Ascot (later United Artists and Mercury), Hollies - Imperial (later Epic), Yardbirds - Epic, Billy J. Kramer & the Dakotas - Imperial, Freddie and the Dreamers - Tower and Mercury. I believe that Tower was a Capitol subsidiary, named for their tower-like building in Hollywood.

  • It's true. In fact, I have every album by every group you just named on those U.S. labels as well, maybe I should make a video of those too! Yes, Tower Records was a subsidiary of Capitol, but in the beginning, U.S. releases on Tower were released in Canada by Sparton Records in London, Ontario. It was only later that Tower releases were put out by the 6000 Series (ex: Simon Dupree & The Big Sound's LP, which i am missing, but i do have the U.S. Tower release!)
