  • Oh David! Saw The Scars live supporting Siouxie and the Banshees at Sirling University in 1982 - a magical thing to behold! I left my recorder at home as wish I had that gig now - I do have a one channel (left speaker only!!) Scars gig on tape from them playing the Tamdhu, Banoockburn (83?) but by that time King had left and the spark with it!

  • Too awful to admit: I really hoped this would be about David (Sylvian....) lol. I did actually buy the vinyl album, listened to it quite a few times, but than decided that Japan/Sylvian and U2 were better...

  • Ha ha ha! Brilliant! I bought a Region 1 DVD of This Island Earth last year.

I remember seeing the Scars a few times back in the early 80s, at the Venue in Victoria and Jenkinsons in Brighton.

I was pleased to see Author Author on CD and bought a copy straight away, Still have all the singles and the album on vinyl.

Keep up the good work spreading the word to the uninitiated, Spartacus.

  • cheers m8... excellent band and best tunes of their era

  • thank you!

  • You are very welcome. "Scars were a very cult band" There are many out their still though who can still connect with late seventies/eighties bands who were not as popular, and for that reason they are somewhat special. I played this to my 16 year old daughter and she loved it. There is a definate connection with my daughter with music that I did not have with my parents, ie James Last, Mantovani etc which i actually like too, but they could not relate to my music.
