You can see little bits of it during the whole New Jedi Order series but that is quite a few books to read, even tho they are all pretty good.

His turn was gradual through the Legacy of the Force series really, with every book making him more darker then before. It is not many books and you will really get a sense of him turning during this series.

i liked unifying force, traitor, and final prophecy, destiny's way was meh, vector prime had a fucking confusing climax, dark journey was fun, but weird, and I maintain that the best points were ganner's final stand and jacen's final battle with onimi.

His first real steps down the dark path began with the Dark Nest Trilogy, which I found to be pretty well written. One thing that turns fans off of the series though (and I really don't blame them) was the whole "joiner" aspect (which you will understand if you read it).

i am trying to read the star wars novels, currently i am on "the approaching storm" which is between episode 1 and 2 and i have read most of the mainstream novels before and after episode 1 and i will make my way thru the star wars timeline to the novels described herein

Interesting, I've never heard that pronunciation of Yuuzhan Vong before. I've always said "YOO-zahn VONG", but who knows.

New Jedi Order was a good series dark and mature but yet some novels were annoying. I did review in one of my cegep projects.

The only worth: Star by Star 9/10, Conquest 9/10, Final Prophecy 8.7, Traitor 8.6, Dark Tide Ruin 8.5, Rebirth 8.4, Dark Tide Onslaught 8.3, Hero's Trial 8.2, Destiny's Way 8.2, Vector Prime 8.0 .

There is always Boba Fett A practical man which looks promising since it is written by Karen Traviss.

Ugh. HATED the NJO series, as well as the Dark Nest trilogy; those books just didn't feel like Star Wars at all! We got invincible alien invaders and giant bugs. How original is that?

I'm really liking Legacy though, I think Star Wars is finally returning to its roots with this new series.

Glad you are looking to come on board. The legacy of the force series started at Betrayal which was a nice starting off point to see where this rollercoaster started. Not sure on where to d/l them free tho, try a google search and see what comes up. I found a couple of sites but they ended the free download last month.

I wish they'd make video games set in the NJO time sphere with the Remnant and the Yuuzhan Vong. I hope LucasArts does something like that soon.

I...don't agree with your review. I hated the series, as well as the crap that came after it. The Vong don't work, everyone was out of character, way to many deaths, and the fact that the Vong don't even get forced to redo their damage sucked.

And I hate the redo of the prequels of the Swarm War and the Legacy of the Force Series.

Totally amazing! I loved the movies, but didn't really the SW Books up until recently. So far I got all the Legacy of the Force books that have been published and I got "Dark Journey" of the New Jedi Order. Thanks so much for this review!

Well the choices where, Darth Acheron, Darth Caedus, Darth Judicar, Darth Paxis or Darth Taral. Out of those my favorite would have to be Darth Judicar, it kinda has a Julius Ceasar ring to it.
