  • Who's the girl?

  • @ckyfan08 that girl would be me :)

  • (PART 2) My mother died when I was seven and after this I became my father’s companion.

We shared a lovely bond but he was away a lot.

I remember the sound of the organ and the harp from the chapel.

When I walked the halls, the house and I shared a special friendship.

It would take me places. Places that meant the most to me.

I had complete freedom….and this was my kingdom.

    ‘Hello Princess’…….

  • Here is a transcript of the voice over - it's voiced by an actress but the words are Doreen's own from her oral history:

I will always remember my times at Tyntesfield House.

    I had an idyllic childhood.

In the summer my family from all around used to gather and play cricket on the green.

I used to pick fresh fruit and vegetables from the greenhouses with the cook.

I remember waking up to the smell of fresh bedding constantly throughout the summer. It was a perfect start to my day.

  • Interesting scenes. It would have been nice to hear the commentary. OK for music fans but for a deaf guy like me this kind of soundtrack is just impossible.

  • Like the video but the background music is so loud it drowns out the voice over. A missed opportunity
