Guess I don't get it. How does this show how the oil cleans your engine? It looks nice, but shows you nothing at all about the oil. Any oil always looks clean when you first pour it in the engine. What does it look like after 5000 miles?

sorry fail. if regular walmart oil couldnt do the job just as well we would see more cars broke down than on the road. in one second, one cylinder in a 4 cyl engine goes up and down roughly 32 times a second at idle. an engine could not suffer such metal to metal friction and would explode at just idle without oil.

@yonathin016 Some oils are better than others. You can buy Wal-Mart oil, but it's going to break down and sludge up easier. Engines are machines, and they have wear and tear. Quality lubricants can severely decrease metal shavings. For just any old engine, you may not care or know enough to use quality lubricants. Having quality oil in a performance engine is what it's all about. Good synthetic oil breaks down far slower at a molecular level than your Wal-Mart crap oil.

Their enthusiasm is probably more about being part of a "unusual" project and about the money it involves ("...do anything given the time and budget").

Your comment doesn't seem to take into account the heat that comes off an engine, an engine holds a very quick, very hot fire - in eight chambers. You just couldn't do it with present technology.

The commercial shows me how oil is distributed but not how it cleans the engine. It's a clever ad but one that does not achieve its desired message. Not visually. It's a generic ad. Put Mobile oil in that plastic engine and it will pretty much look the same.
