@kopeckat Yes, I use an actual compressor before it goes to the D/A interface. It's incorporated into my mic pre - the one I have is the Joe Meek and it allows me to compress the signal a varying amount, and adjust the input and output levels of the unit so that I'm getting a strong signal into the computer but not overloading. There are plenty of similar units that aren't too expensive but do a great job - Studio Projects stuff is worth a look.
hello, just before recording when you are explaining and playing whith the rythm ?
because i can't see any microphone , and i don't think it's the microphone of the webcam . I want to make some vidéos of my band whith one microphone who can reproduce the sound of the room. perhaps you'll can help me. thanks
I have write a song can you possible change some of the lyrics but keep the same meaning and record some music for it please just a trial run for song writting.
I don't really think you could go past the Pro Tools stuff. I use the 002 rack as an interface, it came with Pro tools LE and a heap of plug ins. The new stuff is even better.
No worries - I'm using a Rodes NT1. I like it because it gives a real sparkle on the top end. I like to record with extra tops on and then take them out, rather than try to wind them in later! Hope this helps and good luck with your setup.
This is probably old news to you and something you've considered already but you should check out the variax acoustic guitar, makes altering your tuning incredibly easy.
Good video btw, you've got a really nice setup, buying an imac myself soon, will take me a while to save up for logic and some decent recording equipment though :(
Yeah, these videos are all fantastic. I know how frustrating it can be to set up your own mics and then try and do a few takes, but to do that while filming!! Thanks very much for these videos. Ross
Fantastic guitar playing mate. Deep in the pocket.

What have you done with the real Brian Baker?
HANK0000 1 year ago
do you use real - physical compressor before it is recorded on the computer?
I guess compressor (that's in a computer ) doesn't do anything when recording on the computer.
i get clipping when I record and i don't know how to prevent it.
thanks.

i'm looking to buy equipment for a little studio in my room, but i'm stuck for buying an audio interface.
i'm guessing your setup was all bought seperately, like pre-amps, compressors, etc.
i don't have enough money to do that, so i need to buy an all in one, like an audio interface.
do you have any refrences?
thanks a lot
