I'm not sure about global warming, in the 70's they were talking about the "new impending Ice Age", that got turned around swiftly. What I am sure of is the destruction and defoliation of the planet, which must be having some sort of adverse affect on our climate.

Mark Farner has written songs over the years that represent his unusual diversity of political issues..from being anti-war, an avid supporter of our Vets who has been honored by Veterans organizations, environmental activitst, 2nd amendment rights activist and strong supporter of the NRA, and anti-IRS. You can not put a label on this man, other than to call him a national treasure. We all need to stop this conservative/liberal crap and discuss individual issues with civility and respect.

Everything in this world is a big trade off. The same people that complain about the environment still take advantage of all of the things all this polution is the result of. They drive the cars, drink from the plastic cups, use chemicals to kill the bugs in their homes, cook on Teflon pans, expect to go to a restaurant and order a steak, wear leather shoes, power their amps with electricity from power plants that ruin the ozone and polute the air................I could go on and on.

yes, we all have to do something. But the sad fact is that the machine of destruction we have constructed is unstoppable. It's too late. We can slow it down by making more fuel efficient cars, not driving EVERYWHERE, not dumping our pollutents into everysource of water close by..... the list goes on.... we tore the scars on this places face, we can try to hide them.

Hey sport, they started keeping mean temp averages at the turn of the last century. But I agree, musical fodder to sell records, however, back in the early 70s there was zero governmental interest in good conservation. Maybe it was coming from Farner's heart and not his bank account...ever think of that?

BTW check on "how" they obtain temps back then and who was keeping temps back then and you will understand why I said what I did. No way back then the information they gathered and used to "say" Global temps were can no way be correct. NO WAY! NOT POSSIBLE!

For tkslan00, radio air play is controlled by corporate conglomerates and you will hear very little or nothing at all by GFR. Music that informs, teaches, or has real meaning is forbidden. I am also a bit bias when it comes to GFR. I consider them in the top 5 rock bands to ever grace our presense. As an American band, they share top billing with CCR & The Doors & Steppenwolf for me. World wide, easily in top 5 & tho the Blimp receives all the accolades, GFR always did & always will blow them off the stage. I worked for Citizens for a Better Environment(CBE - Milwaukee) in the '80s and if politicians would have listened to 1/8 of the advise given to protect the environment (ie; solar and wind, caps on industry poluters,etc.) we might not be in as big of a mess as we are in today. Science has shown us that there is so much plastic embedded in our bodies that it is almost considered a food group. Perhaps you should just roll over and go back to sleep, Kool Aid drinker!

please stop the political arguments. the earth has been here for over 2 billion years. man has been here for a blink of an eye. the earth has an other 2 billion to go, before the sun burns out. give or take a billion years. it has been hit by thousands of meteors. equaling every atomic bomb going off at the same time. i don't think some carbon and plastic is going to stop this planet. us, maybe, but the earth will shake us off like a flea and keep on evolving.

I'm not sure about global warming, in the 70's they were talking about the "new impending Ice Age", that got turned around swiftly. What I am sure of is the destruction and defoliation of the planet, which must be having some sort of adverse affect on our climate.
I read that with all the industry and transport it takes to build one large concrete house, 20 tons of CO2 is released into the atmosphere.

If you believe everything these scientists tell you then i feel sorry for you. I would question them before I believe anything they said. Where I live it has been the coldest spring that we have had in many years. lots of rain and snow and below normal temps. there is no warming trend here.

So, who would YOU rather believe, big guy?
Scientists who say that global warming is real? (they have nothing to gain or lose either way; they are just interested in the truth)
Or big corporations that want you to believe that global warming doesn't exist? (they stand to continue their BIG, BIG oil and auto profits if we don't take action)
You have to look at people's motives and the reasons for the positions they take.
One season doesn't mean anything. Scientists look at 1,000-year trends.

There are many scientists who do not believe in global warming. I guess we can agree to disagree I still don't believe in global warming. We can talk all night along and not convince each other that either one is right Al Gore movie on global warming was a big joke. there are scientists who say that gore doesn't know what he is talking about. I am just saying what I believe. and I believe some scientists are wrong. Have a great day.
