  • This looks so unhealthy for the legs...

  • How the hell can you walk 20km in 1 hour and a half, is that even possible

  • who would want to walk for an hour and a half? I would be soo bored..and those watching would be even bored(er)

  • lol, are you kidding me? running is better in all ways(except its harder)

  • "Brilliant display of walking"! hahahah...

  • @KilleraDK I was about to leave the same comment haha

  • lol, was the slow motion replay at the end really necessary?

  • then she waddled away.. waddle waddle.. 'til the very next day... bam bam bam bam bababam

  • We no longer need comedians

  • So who won the egg and spoon race?

  • i want to fuk her :)

  • They should bring in the 100m walk race

  • Eww!!! This shit is disgusting.. Total Turnoff!!!!

  • Comment removed

  • Am I the only one reminded of the "Malcolm in the Middle" episode when they're speed walking racing in the park?

  • @OfficialiGetquotes

hahahah!!! was just thinking about that, then saw ur comment. Hal kicked as in that episode! lolz

  • hold 9 o.O

  • i do this when im far away from the toilet and need to take a shit

  • GAY

  • Ok im a racewalker! ITS RLY PAINFUL TO DO THIS!!! I dnt even go there distance and it still hurts so give them some props for them putting themselves through this pain

  • It's pretty funny how they still put it in slow-mo in the end.

  • @PA2ndez Form is everything in this sport. That's why there are so many slo-mo videos.

  • @jerbearlovesme but WHY when you can run there faster? It's always about getting there faster.

  • What's the point of race-walking when you could run. I dont get it. I really dont.

  • Olga is pretty hot @__@

People who only make fun of how this sport looks are probably just out of shape and making excuses for themselves to never work out at all.

  • haha it even LOOKS awkward

  • This is my track event, it's fucking hard. Don't laugh at it till you try it.

  • @NATALIESIMO

same man! it looks like easy but i run a mile in 6 and walk it in 8 40 and id choose having to run it any day

  • LMAO at 0:42 when they show it down. Its already slow as fuck xD I fail to see this as a real sport. Running, swimming, cycling is sport, not this silly walk

  • @105km The slowed down replay is for dramatization of her finishing.

    The more you know.

  • @105km

id like to see you fucking try.

  • ya it looks stupid but if any haters actually tried it they would have an enormous amount of respect for it cuz its THE most painful track event

  • @Nuggetlover13 ...next to steeple chase

  • @Nuggetlover13 please. the most painful track events are the one where you have to run. i do the 1600, the 3200, and the 800 with flat feet. it hurts like a motherfucker. now im not saying walking 7 minute miles isnt incredible. it is. but to call it the most painful track event is degrading to everyone who has to run in track

  • @Gelyphish As omeone who has done both and raced in Nationals.. Race-walking takes the cake.

  • @Gelyphish As someone who has done both and raced in Nationals.. Race-walking takes the cake.

  • @Gelyphish

i run the 1600 and the 800 and i also do racewalk. They are equally brutal.

  • I'm glad they played that slo-mo, I think I missed her left foot hitting the ground one time in the normal version.

  • If I'm being chased by a dog, let's just say I know what my method of escape will be.

(And no, I will not be walking!)

  • Never ceases to amaze me that people who hate speedwalking go through the trouble to search for it on youtube and then watch it.

If you find it "boring" or it "drives you insane"... why would you go out of your way to watch it? Weirdest thing I've experienced around here. lol

  • "brilliant display of walking".... loool wtf...

  • I don't like this sport.

  • why would i need to see this in slow motion

  • HAHAHAHAHAHAHA

  • Anything can be a sport, but I believe there is a contention behind this one because it is so blatantly counterintuitive. Your whole goal is to finish as fast as you freaking can--- given some semi-arbitrary distinction between walking and running! Ok, I've got to admit, I've never actually tried to race walk, but all I imagine is this force in me saying, "just fucking run you dipshit". I know that's the whole point, but it would just drive me insane, and it almost does just watching it.

  • Love the slow-mo.

  • RUN FOREST! RUN!

  • is this a joke? i can run so much faster than these dumb bitches

  • Looks like a runner who don't take her sport seriously :-S

  • As much as I think these people are athletes, and that it's just as difficult as any other sport, I will admit I laughed my ass off when the announcer said: "This is a brilliant display of walking..."

  • I dont understand how they do it...

  • HATERS GONNA HATE

  • i love speedwalking, but that slo mo was ridiculous!

  • are you serious?

  • lmao. wtf is this?

  • every morning at 6 am i get up and have a nice speed walk in the park , the atmosphere is exhilarating it just gets my adrenaline pumping!, and as for all you little chirpers with negative comments get back to your little (EXTREME) sports (oh look at me im so mad) , all of you should go try speed walking you have to try it to appreciate the sheer beauty of it it is simply AMAZING!

  • Thanks for the slow mo, Im that slow i missed it when she crossed the line :)

  • Thanks for the slow mo, Im that slow i missed it when she crossed the line ;)

  • I'm pretty sure you'd get exhausted doing this but still. Oh gosh. It just looks so silly.

  • Okay this is pretty retarded looking, but when you really think about it it's actually pretty god damn amazing.

She finished 12.8 miles in 90 minutes, which would make 1 mile every 7 minutes.

She WALKED 1 mile every 7 minutes. Most people in America can't RUN 7 minute miles and yet this dumb sport yielded a 7 minute mile WALK.

Even though this looks retarded, I applaud the athlete. I wonder how fast she could run a mile...

  • @ehnogi R U Frickin kidding me. ShE walks 7 miles a minute.

  • @Slimold

Either a decent troll or display of ultimate idiocy.

  • @ehnogi probably not that fast bc different musles are worked

  • @DCaple0013

True. She's probably still fast though, seeing how she is an athlete. Most athletes train dynamically anyway.

  • @ehnogi nonono no running we need something slow anyway

  • "Brilliant display of WALKING"

  • replay "oh shit look how fast shes goin"!

  • beautiful...!

    good job!

its alot of hard work..its an endurance sport..and its not easy.. for all of you

    who put negative comments...

    your ignorant and stupid.

try it. try training for it...try learning how to do this..theres tecnique and alot more involved.

  • @sensafuoco That's just the point. We don't want to train for something so ridiculous.

  • thats one dangerous sport, look at the record breaking speed! she could injure herself lol

  • Like most things...you have to try to do it to understand how much of a challenge it is...I can appreciate all who make it to the Olympics and dedicate most of their lives to training for their sport. It must be awesome to reach that level of perfection within any sport...

  • the russians are soooo good. but most of them are on EPO.

    kaniskina is amazing.

  • AHHAHAHAHA that slowmotion was epic

  • I never knew walking like you have shit your pants was a sport. I always thought walking like a normal person was a perfectly good way of doing things.

  • Bob Costas: They showed a clip and I had to make a comment, so I said "having a race to see who can walk the fastest is like having a contest to see who can whisper the loudest."

    Conan O'Brien: And the Race-Walkers weren't happy?

Bob Costas: ...they wanted me dead, Conan

Conan O'Brien: Well, at least they would be easy to get away from

  • "Brilliant display of walking." We've come a long way as a species.

  • You guys try to racewalk. It kills the shins.

  • when one get older will most likely understood walking benefits.

  • Olympic walking, might as well have Olympics breathing and sleeping

  • "Brilliant display of walking!"

  • how is this even an event......!!!!

  • haha i aint got nothing against this sport but lol imagine speed walkin down a street like that people will think ur psycho

  • That was a brilliant display of walking!

  • SLOW MODE REPLAYYYY

  • Agreeing with the naysayers here: speedwalking may be difficult, and the form may be different than regular walking (and of course running), but for what human interest? Same question re freestyle swimming vs. other strokes. Form becomes interesting when were looking at impressive feats of gymnastics, diving, skateboarding etc.

  • Theres like nobody in the stadium.

  • hahahaha

  • They had to rerun the part when she finishes in slow motion? Wasnt it going slow enough to begin with?

  • I don't usually say this about obscure things, but this is incredibly fucking stupid.

  • haa funny

  • speedwalking is a sport in the olympics but softball and baseball aren't...huh..

  • well... her mile is faster than mine.

  • it looks freakin corny... loke a duck with waaaaay to large legs and no ass...

  • stupidest event ever.

  • aww shes so little, DAMN WTF KINDA WALKING IS THAT??JUST RUN!

  • this is fucked up

  • I can't believe this is actually an olympic event....this looks like something that belongs in the monthy python silly walk skit. Sure it's hard and exhausting and it requires stamina and endurance etc etc...but so does having the shits from enchiladas!

  • true

  • agreed.

in fact, the way they move really creeps me out...

  • aderoid please stop your chirping it is sensless............every morning at 6 am i get up and have a nice speed walk in the park , the atmosphere is exhilarating it just gets my adrenaline pumping!, and as for all you little chirpers with negative comments get back to your little (EXTREME) sports (oh look at me im so mad) , all of you should go try speed walking you have to try it to appreciate the sheer beauty of it it is simply AMAZING!

  • @RyanHood43 It's not senseless... and all i pretty much said was that it looks stupid which it does and im free to share whatever i want to share with all of you, if you get something out of it, then good for you... I don't see why you need to be so defensive and talk down to me... its probably because you speedwalk and u know deep down you look stupid when doing it, youre just trying to justify your silly walk :-)

  • @aderoid yeah I don't think this is a legitimate Olympic sport even though it is in the Olympics. Marathon jogging on the other hand is a legit track sport.

  • thin.....hmmmm makes me think for myself

  • Women's softball was taken out of the games. Speed walking still stands.

  • @Ballpuncher

That's right! because softball is over rated and race walking is so much better! people think race walking is lazy, but it's way the hell tougher than baseballl.

  • @Ballpuncher the only thing though is baseball or softball isn't really an international sport where as racewalk isn't accepted in canada and america

  • It's not as easy as it looks.. Try walking as fast as you can while keeping one foot on the ground at all times.

    Airborne Shuffle. XD

  • is this a joke?

  • lol

  • that is a fucking stupid sport .. like the most retarded thing ever and it disgraces the olympics i always have to turn that bull shit off when ever that event happens imo its a excuse for people who cant get real medals to try

  • Part of me thinks this, although im an open minded person.. I just don't SEE the benefits of doing this, rather than running.

  • @f3rr3tz well then if we take away racewalk lets take away every swimming event except for freestyle. also y do we need a whole bunch of sprints and distance races now it should just be 100m and marathon. And then we should take out team sports because i don't think handling balls is a good sport

  • Why do all these speed walkers look too thin?

  • on average they weigh more than elite marathon runners

  • Did they really need a slow motion replay of walking? Really? It's not like it was a close finish. "WOW LET ME SEE THAT AGAIN!"

  • LOFL, this

  • hahaha They seriously have these?!?!?! hahahahahaha

  • I heard a comedian say a while ago that the biggest cesspool of human stupidity is youtube comments. Some of the coomments here criticizing race walking prove that. It's a great exercise. I alternate it with regular running and it works great. And as far as all the UFC fanboy idiots out there, you really should stop drinking beer, get off your sorry ass, and train! I know of many other martial artists like myself who practice speed walking. Only a beer drinking fanboy would make such comments.

  • and you just joined the cesspool

  • and you're an asshole

  • Race walkers long ago discovered the 3rd great certainty in life (the first 2 being 'death' and 'taxes'), and that is: 'You'll never win an argument against the pig-ignorant.' So we just pull on our shoes, go out and keep pushing our VO2Max ever higher, all the while looking forward to the day when mcjayman1 and other assorted nematodes pull on their shorts and shoes and make their first tentative heel & toe steps. Should be something to see.

  • omg, the announcer actually used the phrase "with a brilliant display of walking".

  • I don't like race wak\lking, I love it.

  • yyou watchin if u critisizing lol dunt watch it if u dunt like. besides UFC isnt even that great. It a sport that white men create from boxing lol. They took the sport and ran with it lol. Quoted from Mayweather

  • Its just as demanding as running is, and there are all sorts of running competitions.

If you think its so easy, go out and win a medal. ;)

  • what are you doing on the computer? did retard school get out early again? i told you when this happens you have to go STRAIGHT to the McDonald's Playland....

  • race walking is gay

  • uh no comment? :D

  • omg!!!!

so amazing to watch someone walk like a retard!

  • hhahahahahahaha

  • wtf

    is race walking

  • its in the olympics

  • race walkers are truly amazing. They burn more calories then long distance runners. Basically some races are 50 km...you never hear about long distance runners going this face. It takes true skill to be a compettive race walker. I actually want to seriously do this

  • i bet you would also like to take up olympic cock sucking you cum sucking fuck

  • @buraburayoshi

    Check it out,Cliff Young,an Australian long-distance runner,ran 852 km in 6 days,and he was 61 when he did it.

  • @kiskedis Wow that is amazing. I have to check it out. That is brilliant. Is there a video about it?

  • @buraburayoshi

Just hit "Cliff Young" in youtube's search engine. There are more than a dozen video's about him.

  • "A brilliant display of walking." ...I was rolling

  • I thought it was just me....

  • Pause at 19 seconds. Compare to the man standing just off the track.

  • LOLOLOLOLOLOLOL

  • lol she's so small!! haahaha

  • I like how they have the slow-mo replay, just in case we missed anything. Hahahahaha.

  • speedwalking may be the gayest thing I have ever seen. If you where trying to go fast you would RUN, so whats the point of training in walking

  • the point is something what you and type of person like you will never understand..

  • speedwalking probably burns more calories than laughing. but u do always have the potential to have a good gut busting laugh

  • im fucken tired of all the ignorant people saying this is stupid and what not... get your fuken ass to do this then say its easy or that its stupid or it shouldnt be a sport...

i bet they walk faster than you run

  • this shit is lame.

  • Race walking should not be an event in these types of competitions. I mean think about it honestly. It is basically saying that you will race someone, while not going at your full speed, and being judged in the form that you race. It's as though someone tells you to throw a ball far but only use a percentage of strength and you will be judged upon it. Racing should be about speed, in anyway that is comfortable for you, not about how you move your feet.

  • well said, liked the annagle

  • but then you could say that for so many other things. Backstroke in swimming you aren't going your fastest same with all the other strokes. Should swimming jus contain freestyle. Although racewalking is obscure it is still a disipline that you have to train hard to get to a high level. But now people are just saying well all you do is walk when thats only a bit of what you do. The form is completley different than walking.

  • Her speedwalking is sponsored by Toyota lol.

  • Did they really need a slowmo at the end of it? I think it was slow enough as it was.

  • my favorite part is when they show the replay in slow motion. Because we needed to see her walking in slowmo.

  • 0:32 "Brilliant display of walking" LMAO

  • yeah, funny shit. wish I could do that...

  • 20km!? It takes me 2 hours to walk 10km!

  • this has to be the dumbest shit ever lmao it's so funny to watch them hobble around the course

  • i know right. it looks so ridiculous i love it.

  • try it

  • i tried it briefly during my morning run yesterday and i ended up laughing my ass off

  • is it really???why dont you try it and then say its funny

  • it looks like a pain in the ass, I know. It's also incredibly dumb. Why is this an event, these people could probably run pretty fast

  • I sped walked to class in ten minutes for a walk that normally takes twenty. My calves were cramped even though I do sprints around the track two times a week. It must be difficult to keep from running since it's the natural thing to do.

  • hahaahahaha this is a bigger joke then the wnba
