as an rborist myself, i take down alot of trees do to the fact that they were once topped. this willow was topped and that leaves the tree dangerous and a host for insects and rot. if they had not taken this tree down and a branch fell on a car or bystander, the property owners would be liable and have to pay more then $4000 to take the tree down. thats a fair price for this size of tree IMO

A Weeping willow (Salix) is a fast growing tree with a short lifespan. 40 -75 years(THAT MEANS ITS GONNA FALL DOWN SOONER RATHER THAN LATER), their wood is comparable to cottonwood, total garbage.. I see these trees fall down frequently.. Its is not uncommon for a massive lead to peal off in a storm and crush the side of a house, or garage.

being a certified arborist has nothing to do with city codes or removing trees. it has to do with pruning practices and this tree has been previously topped. topping a tree leads to structural problems and causes rot on the inside of the tree. although the tree looks healthy and alive, the inside is rotted out and will fail in a wind storm. sucks this tree had to go but even certified arborists have to remove heritage trees like this one.

idk if you all can see but that tree has been topped. this is why it is important to hire a "ISA" arborist. it was the tree owners responsibility to hire a certified arborist and he didn't. i remove alot of topped trees becuase they have un controllable decay and rot issues leading to poor wood strength. once it has been topped there is no reversing the damage caused to the tree. it is basically a slow death sentence. soo sad.

That woman has a beautiful voice. That tree surely is (was) a sight to see. It's too bad some people do not feel any connection to nature. The owner was afraid the tree might cost him money, so he killed it- it was probably growing there for more than half a century, decades and decades before he ever came to live under it. It's too bad he moved there, if only someone else had moved there, instead of him. Life is a box of chocolates. Pretty sad

idk if you all can see but that tree has been topped. this is why it is important to hire a "ISA" arborist. it was the tree owners responsibility to hire a certified arborist and he didn't. i remove alot of topped trees becuase they have un controllable decay and rot issues leading to poor wood strength. once it has been topped there is no reversing the damage caused to the tree. it is basically a slow death sentence. soo sad.

This is hilarious, mainly because they only trimmed it, and it won't take long for it to grow more branches. I would of even understood if it was felled - but trees are always being trimmed around my area, and you don't get a weird bunch of people on crack and alcohol singing around it.

Hate to say it, but if the owner of the property doesn't want to be responsible in case of accident, then the other neighbors who wanted the tree left standing should purchase said property and assume the responsibility. as much as I find it bad cutting down a tree, I find the lack of respect by the neighbors to be disturbing. they seem as the same type of people that would sue him if it fell upon their cars and his insurance did not cover it.
