  • "your beauty in requiem for a dream detracted from the narrative." LOL! if i met jared, i would probably say something stupid too haha.

  • @lollyroxy same here, lol or maybe i'd trip on like a crack in the sidewalk and fall on my face...

  • thats what i love about simon, hes openly gay but isnt camp like most gay people (that ive seen) : )

  • @MrMadness87 camp?

  • @ItalianSunset14 camp means your typical gay man that acts like a woman just because their attracted to men (like women) look for lois spence......the campest man on the planet! :)

  • @MrMadness87 I don't know, Alan Carr is definitely competition for the title of "campets man in the world" lol

  • @MrMadness87 Okay, I know what you mean. I'm assuming that you find the mannerisms of "camp" gay people alienating, and you find Simon more relatable because he doesn't behave that way. But keep in mind that when you praise someone for something like that, it sounds a bit like you're asking people to behave more typically hetero so you don't have to feel so squirmy.

  • @MrMadness87 so being camp is bad, that's what you're saying? what I dislike even more about your comment is that 55 people agreed on it.

  • @Atemporal well its annoying when someone is over the top camp, and annoying is bad. go back a few hundred years, there were gay people then, but they didnt go on like alot of gay people today because theyd probably get stoned to death. look at louis spence, im not bothered that hes gay but because of his behavior i think there should be people armed with tranquiliser guns and giant nets looking for him.

  • @MrMadness87 well gee then maybe you didn't phrase your take on the issue right. Not all camp people are annoying maybe that's how some of them 'express themselves' as cheesy as it sounds, I think it all boils down to acceptance really. And lol at this Louie person I didn't even know about, meh I dunno guess I'm not that bothered by him.

  • @MrMadness87 excuse my stupid question, im not trying to be mean, I just dont understand what youre meaning by "camp" ? :)

  • @MrMadness87 Saying "isn't camp like most gay people" is very ignorant, sorry. Perhaps you say this because the people who are obviously gay are typically camp, so you don't recognise the ones who aren't camp as being gay. I have a lot of gay friends, and I would only consider one out of about 10-20 of them "camp".

  • @8nikolas8 Did you not read what he typed in brackets?

  • @DarrelHerring Irrelevant... did you not read what I said about not recognising the ones who aren't camp as being gay? I'm saying he assumes that only camp people are gay and only recognises those who aren't camp as being gay when he KNOWS they are gay. So he would have most likely encountered far more homosexuals than he thinks, but he only identifies the camp ones as gay. Either way I said "Perhaps you say...." merely to argue one inference that could be made.

  • @8nikolas8 It is relevant because you took his comment out of context, by "the ones I've seen" he means the ones he has met and the ones he has seen on TV; He used the word "seen" because campness is mainly about movement (and speech). Also, you said that the only people he sees as gay are camp people and people he actually knows are gay. First of all, he never said all camp people were gay. Secondly, are you saying he should say people are gay even if he doesn't know they're gay?

  • @DarrelHerring So, we can agree that "see" is to observe, and (as you said) campness is mainly about "movement and speech". If this is what you say, then he is making assumptions about people based on observation (or external manifestations of homosexuality). Thus the only ones he really notices as being gay are the overtly gay ones, while he doesn't notice that the toned down gays are actually gay. 1. I didn't say he said that, I said that typically he would identify camp guys as gay.

  • @DarrelHerring and 2. That is besides the point, he should merely be open to the possibility that people could be gay without it being obvious. Also, to say "see" means the ones he has met and seen on TV is one broad assumption - why wouldn't it include people he has seen down the street? Surely this would qualify as a visual identification of another being? My point is that you will notice camp guys as gay because they are clearly gay, whereas less overt gays are not always identified as gay.

  • @8nikolas8 Unless you have the mythical power of "gaydar", you wouldn't know if someone who walked passed you on the street was gay. You're still missing the point, he never said all camp people are gay, neither did I. There's a comedian here in the UK called Michael McIntyre, he's described as being camp, but he's got a wife and and two kids. How are you supposed to notice a "toned down gay" is gay, unless he's romantically kissing or having sex with another guy?

  • @DarrelHerring No, you're missing the point sorry. He said most gay people THAT I'VE SEEN. Not most gay people that I've met. I'm not saying you have to know everyone who is gay, but that there are people out there who are gay, but you wouldn't know they are gay. So the "most people" that he has seen are camp, what about the other gay guys he has seen but hasn't thought are gay? My point is he doesn't notice they are gay. If he had of said met instead of seen, I would have no problems.

  • @8nikolas8 So, you have more of a grammatical problem with what he said. Now that I think about it, I'm usually the one pointing out other people's bad grammer. I have no idea why I'm assuming he means the ones he's met and seen. Maybe we should directly ask him what he meant. However, you should rethink the way you say this sentance in the future "My point is he doesn't notice they are gay." I think you should put "...he doesn't notice that they might be gay" rather than "are".

  • @DarrelHerring I'm sure he/she intended it how you meant. My point was that there are plenty of people who could be gay, just like there are plenty of people who might support the Knicks, but we only have strong reason for believing one is gay perhaps when they are camp (though not always) or when they wear a Knicks jersey. So we are merely making assumptions upon appearance, and our assumptions may well be wrong. But no, neither of us are really wrong, and yes, that would be better expression.

  • @8nikolas8 @8nikolas8 But if we both agree that he(I checked, it is a guy) meant by "see", why did you reply to his comment in, what would seem, like a slighty negative way.

  • @DarrelHerring Honestly I just said that because I can't be bothered arguing this anymore and was just seeking some closure since this has gone on far too long. No need to prolong it further, young chap.

  • God, I KNOW HOW HE FEELS!! :D

  • LOLLL XD

  • Please, please do. That was fantastic.

  • Love! I must have this DVD in my life!
