  • I have a better fire on my daughters bday cake.

  • Mixture: Idle rich... TOO RICH!!! TOO RICH!!!

  • nob vdeo

  • the commentator is full-o-shit the cracking is to get the oil that settles out and the fire is unburnt oil and gas being burnt

  • absolutely right

  • cool

  • Maybe it should be retitled.

  • What a lame demonstration of Engine fire on start. Either way that F4U isn't starting...

  • Well, I caught it too late. I heard on the scanner "Corsair's on fire" and scrambled to get the camera on and recording.

  • is the other plane next to it a trojan?

  • no its a sky rader

  • dam but its also from the vietnam theatre right?

  • yup

  • Not real smart. The F4U should fire within 9 blade passes or be aborted to clear the cylinders. Standard practice.

  • in correct. Proper practice is to kill kill the fuel cutoff and keep cranking until the fuel has cleared out of the cylinders other wise more fire could result, and possible cause more damage and or an explosion.

  • You obviously dont know much about starting big radial engines. The proper proceedure is to continue cranking with the fuel cut off, just as the pilot did in this instance. You are referring to a no start condition in which there is NO fire, in which case you are right.

  • You're all wrong. Proper procedure would be to get rid of the radial and get something with a Merlin in it LOL. JK! Don't throw anything at me!

  • thats an f4u-1 or three

    right? three blades.
