  • Eric very good!!!

  • EJ stole the show on this performance!

  • I think that Johnsons solo here is by far the best of the 3. But that's just me.

  • loved EJ on the 335. wish he'd played more slow stuff. i enjoy the fast, but i love the tone he gets when he slows down on that axe.

  • es 335 in eric's hands holds its own with the superstrats.

  • greatest cover in history..perfect!

  • fuckin amazin

  • Freaking nuts X3! What more can you ask for? 3 masters wailing away on their axes at the same time!

  • better than hendrix!

  • no freakin way.

  • Hendrix is Hendrix. No one is better.

  • Great Blues!!

But the best blues guitar player in this video is Eric Johnson

    (Y)Very Good

  • I agree.

  • vai is soooo cool he like goes with a blue flow

  • satch has the gift of becoming the coolest looking guitar player whenever he plays onstage.

  • AWESOM ERIC'S SOLO

  • eric johnson is so under-rated! awesome cover; not as good as the cd version(g3) though!

  • Definately.

The cd version is a LOT more bluesy.

  • BB King should do a cover of this that would make the world end cause of its awesomeness.

  • What Vai played was cool and original.

  • Great Musics! Except for the fairy Steve Vai's performance. Im a fan of Vai, and i know they all have different styles, but what the hell was that? Ruined the song a bit in my opinion.

  • he's wearing headphones to cancel out the sound so he doesn't sing too soft or too loud

  • Actually he's wearing those so he doesn't damage his hearing any further; he apparently already suffers from tinitus from not protecting his ears on stage.

  • you're right paul gilbert does the same

  • el tema es genial

    mas la interpretecion

    de estos tipos inverosimil...

  • why eric wear headphones

  • hear protecters, not headphones... too loud for a blues player

  • he wears them for the same reason as paul gilbert, his ears are sensitive to loud noises and they protect his ear drums from becoming munted

  • aslo makes him hear his voice better

  • both satriani and vai use too much distortion for the song they are playing. that doesn't mean they played badly.

  • Some of vai's licks didn't suit the song, however, like previous comments state that he says hes not a good blues player but he uses various metal licks within a slow blues song FTL.

Satriani does some very good blues licks there i think, as a whole song there, it was fantastic!

  • son espectakulares

    De Chile!!!.

    GuitarGálvez.

    GuitarGálvez.

  • Come on...this isnt a fucking competition. They are all playing together. YOu cant say anyone sucks but you for posting scuh a dumb comment.

  • well said..

  • well said..

  • why does anyone disagree with you u are correct my man. listen to their version of little wing and satch is the only good solo everyone else especially malmsteen just shreds sad really.

  • The best I would have to say blues-wise is definately johnson(surprisingly so!). Satriani wasn't too bad either but he should really stick to metal along with vai.

  • Jonhson (L)

  • i think if vai had been there instead of petrucci this would have been even sicker

  • It IS Vai

  • siriously how could you mistake vai for petrucci you shit face cock master

  • siriously how could you mistake vai for petrucci you shit face cock master

  • yeah man how hard is it to tell Vai and Petrucci apart? One has a faggy haircut and shit on his face that looks like a gotee and the other is John Petrucci... just kiddin i love Steve vai

  • It's quite clearly Joe Satriani.

  • Lol, killiktwilight didn't even mention satriani!

  • Steve Vai describes himself as a terrible blues player. He's not really that bad, but he does lack the blues virtuosity of the other two.

  • Judging by this I'd say he's pretty damn terrible at the blues.

  • what the....how can you not tell that its Vai? Petrucci looks completely different.

  • WOW.

  • they are gods!

  • I love and respect all of them three guys, but lets be honest, this is ridiculous! First of all - Vai and Satch's solos and gain levels are just too high, and the sissy singing style of Eric (who i believe is one of the best guitarists in the world). It just isn't it. They all are amazing, but when they stick to what they are good at. This just isn't their territory.

Listen to Gary Moore's version. Much much better!

  • Hey, I thought it was good - these guys just added their style to it. What would be ridiculous would be putting Jimmy Page on stage with them, even in his prime. I love LZ, but he doesn't compare...

  • my dad used to own a marshall jcm 2000 and a gibson ES-335 but he sold them, i just found out while me and him were watching this

  • The sweetest blues you can ever hope for. Thanks guys.

    Bob Olin

  • freaking awesome, dudes!!!

  • Agreed. I would love to see these three joined by John Petruci. G4...Wow!!

  • *drool*

  • That would be a show to remember...

  • i think i heard somewhere that Joe Satriani was trying to get Jimmy Page to join...

  • Well it would be cool to see Joe with Jimmy on stage...

  • jimmy page is fucking dying , he wouldt go on a stage, hes drying up on a wheelchair somewhere on arizona

have you seen his fingers lately? omg

  • Joe said that back in 1996. Hahaha :P I guess we'll never see them perform, now that Jimmy Page is all dried up.

  • lmao

  • It would be one giant fail train.

  • idk Petrucci toured in the guest spot of G3 on the second tour and the jams were MUCH more boring without Johnson

  • why is that? I know the answer is obvious but could you please explain, I haven't been to any G3 jam :(

  • mostly because EJ's a much better guitarist than petrucci

  • i have to disagree, the G3 live with Yngwie malmsteen was not good enought because Malmsteen is the next guitarist level and dont mix as good as Jhonson, but it is not been better, Petrucci is a great guitarist and the G3 with him was cool, Malmsteen is a SHOW man and sharing stage with him is not a good idea.

U can see it at the end, he almost go away without saying goodbye, I think he got enought of that =P. BTW there is no better guitarist just different.

  • all the G3 jams are terrible, except this one is pretty good

and petrucci wouldn't know rhythmic phrasing if his awful idols Rush jizzed it all over his fanboy face

  • Petrucci works with progresive rithms and the problem could be that Vai and Satriani are less agresive, It is no a "Fan" thing of who's better, DreamTheater is a very Profesional Band, but it is diferent, petrucci with blues maybe a bad combination comparing with Jhonson, but jhonson is soft enought to mix anyone, Malmsteen and petrucci are other lvl (no necesary better or worst)

It's like inviting George Bellas or Batio, simply dont mix. G3 terrible of course, but improvisations on stage r cool

  • This is one freaking AWESOME performance!!! OOh PERFECT!!! 3 of the greatest guitarists ever, you CAN'T go wrong. <:-O
