  • Great band, great tune! Where did they play in these pictures?

  • @brindlepes Gotta be Wembley stadium.Where's the power cords?Haha;)

  • Why would Glenn leave Jethro Tull?:(

  • @MrRush1974 He was fired for being irresponsible. Ian runs a very tight ship...

  • anyone that dislikes knows NOT what music is nor do they know real musicians

  • adore the music--but the video kind of looks like ichabod crane's version

  • 53 dumbass'es

  • is a incredible flutist !!!

  • The way Anderson lifts his leg - like he's about to turn into a goat from the waist down.

  • @sierragreen ...or Krishna.

  • Perfect pitch!

  • Why the dislike button for a piece of wonderful history...

  • @gazojka I think the dislikes are from the people who cant handle the fact the song contained no mention of bitches, his baby, his bucks or their mommas!! Isnt it a wonderful freedom to be able to enjoy all different kinds of music and not be trapped by time or trend?? I think so!

  • @kramnivas i totaly understand you and think the same... I am very disappointed with the music thees days, it makes no sense and it's full of crap... god bless the 70's and the 80's...

  • wow... I just run onto this for the first time O.o

  • lol, why is Captain Hook playing a flute?

  • love this band. too bad u don't hear much music like this anymore.

  • @GirAddict It's easy to look back with nostalgia and think that good music doesn't exist anymore, but there are thousands of dynamite musicians around making music today, you just have to look a little further from the beaten track, there's alot of shit masquerading as music you have to dig through first.

  • I read somewhere that Ian Anderson was some kind of germaphobe. Must have been rough for him in the late 60's. No offense hippies.

  • this is my audition piece for governor's school for the arts. tak that for classical music.

  • this guy looks like someone who escaped from azkaban.

  • @ChrisLeeBear LOL so true!!

  • @ChrisLeeBear

I think your head needs to escape from your ass.

  • yo ablo español

  • FANTASTICO

  • Jethro Tull has had a long and storied career with sometimes some rather juvenile lyrics, BUT, this has always been my favorite Tull song. Their STAND UP album (I have a copy of the original release with the stand up centerfold) was one of their earlier releases but still my favorite Tull album.

  • THE FUCKING BEST BASS ON THE WORLD thums uP

  • @Bubu2656 With Peter Hook ! :D

  • Ian St. Ian...

  • ian anderson, grande musicista

  • I heard this once and became an INSTANT JT fan!

  • I have a copy of this on "Living in the past" on tape. coz it's gotten old, the bass is 10x clearer xD

  • ha ha that looks like chong on bass

  • who play the 2nd flute?

  • @bluslius double taping probably recorded and aded during the music

  • @bluslius its the same flute but delayed a few seconds

  • @Saltheman139 mmm...i think notes are different, in my opinion there is another fluteplayer

  • @bluslius It's Anderson playing both parts recorded separately and dubbed over. If one ever wanted to play it live, he would have to get two flautists.

  • masssterrrrrrrrrrrr

  • nunca me he aburrido de escucharle ♥

  • I used to have a Video, released on VHS Tape in the late 70's or early 80's I believe,

called "Slipstream"... it was an official release and not a bootleg. - if anyone has this, please post some clips from it.... Great Stuff... and interviews also... kind of a Histoey of the band up to that point. :-)

  • Awesome stuff.!!! Real MUSIC

  • @meekamello dead right

  • grande Ian

  • recuerdo cuando escuchabamos esta cancion en la única radio am que tocaba rock el 70 en Santiago, cada noche era recibir una hostia musical que purificaba los oídos y el alma.

  • I'm so glad youtube was invented to be able to catch this. This kind of stuff isn't made anymore. Not just the video, but the whole action of making a flute sound as cool as any other rock-n-roll instrument.Jethro Tull definitely had their own genre in the rock world. Thanks so much mineralist.

  • I saw them on the 28 July 1974 at Festival Hall Melbourne, Australia . They played Bouree.Wow!!

  • @1951AussieinSweden You LUCKY B@&$#RD.Wish I was old enough to have had the chance!!!! I Have A great respect/love of their music but have had to satisfy myself with only their video's and disc's/tapes/records(verywellworn).To have experienced them live would have been a truely marvellous experience :-)

  • DON'T PLAY APARTHEID ISRAEL!!!!!!!!!!!

  • @kareemahnour Will you pack it in. You're getting on my nerves now!

  • @melmau1 I thought that was rather unique of kareemahnour to throw that out there.Did you know that israel is now expelling the children of migrant workers because "there are zionist considerations and ensuring the jewish character of israel".Does that get on your nerves?Do tell.

  • @PBGSURFER65 Just wrote something huge and from the heart, then promptly removed it (mainly due to poor grammar). Read the statement a few times, and got annoyed about Religion yet again. I'd have thought the band were there to make a few quid, not support Judaism(sp?). If you're alluding to the fact that Israel is participating in 'Religious Cleansing' then the World should know. What I will say though, is that bad people have the propensity to con the good . I hope you're from the UK.

  • fu yea, they stil plsy ?

  • muy grosoo el video aguante jethrooooo ojala vuelvan ala argentina cuando estuvieron no los conocia aun en el 2007

  • This is SO cool!!!!!!!!

  • h.peter.0425 excelent

  • Jethro tull is such an amazing band! My favourite album is This Was!

We hope that the good rock will come back. Here is a little contribution to this dream. The first and self-produced Video clip of my rock band. The song is about....Robert Johnson...check it out!

watch?v=FvQoB5j_LmI (Or go directly on my youtube profile :-))

  • I used to have a coat like that in 1969 and played Bourree on the flute but OK - not like Ian. Love the aqualungs coming in at the end. This is a historic video. Where does it come from?

  • SSSSIIIIIIIIIIII

  • the ultimate caressing whisper

  • @ Flavio girl. Try Joan& Tull Channel for that song.

  • does anyone have the song, "Too old to rock & roll"?

  • @FlavioGirl Try Joan & Tull channel

  • @gumborific: So agree. There are many many freaking amazing musicians around these days, imo far many than there were in previous eras, but the biggest difference maybe is that you don't look for them on the radio stations.

That being said, Tull was really something special by any standard, esp. in terms of bridging genres.

  • What an amazing version of this song!

  • Right now is quite difficult to find an artist so expressive and filled of talent, he's just the best.

  • @rpsalazar84 while I hear ya, keep in mind he and Tull bridged the gap between classical, jazz, and modern music and thus were able to enter a very commecial rock scene in that era. There are plenty of modern artists that might tickle your fancy, but unfortunately today's commercial scene (and consumer) is not looking for something quite as progressive and musical.

  • What an amazing bass solo.

  • aparently they werent too popular cuz no one showed up.

  • Great bass!

  • Mid Weekend Flash. And a Happy Birthday to know one & Gilbert.

  • suena bkn el bajo d esta wea

  • @keano6t9

    gracias!!

  • @keano6t9 gracias!!!

  • i guess you would call this Bach and Roll (ha!) looks like ian invented skinny jeans. loved listening to this in college along with abbey road...back when the world wa full of interesting possibilities

  • I don't know, but I think that's my favorite piece of music I've ever heard. EVER

  • Just...

    Amazing!

    Greetings from Ger

  • This was my mom's favorite band ever...thanks to her I learned what is the real good music...mom thanks :-)))

  • @snupara lol, me the same! My Mom also really likes Jethro Tull and so I played aqualung several times on guitar hero 6 and also started to like it! :D

  • The song, the album, I reminisce of ... nights of winter turn me cold -- fears of dying, getting old. I remember I especially enjoyed these songs in the autumn and winter seasons, 1969, 1970. 2010. And I love my wife so...

  • What a classic. Indeed one the most memorable bass solos ever. Really like the video too (except when the masks appear at the end [even if it's supposed to be subjective art or whatever]): the sun, the trees, the band, etc.

    Many thanks Mineral.

  • Glenn Cornick: der beste Basslauf der Rockgeschichte!

    Verkauft er wirklich jetzt Hundefutter?

Im Mittelteil: Töne, wie sie die Musikgeschichte

    noch nicht gehört hat, oder?

Glenn Cornick: The best bass course of rock history.

In the middle: Sounds like they made music history has not heard

  • 30+ years later I still annoy my family by insisting on playing this on the piano. One of the very few songs I ever learned to play. Thanks Eric Gadzinski for the lesson.

  • @gmartinz01 bach wouldn''t mind

  • awesome song

  • me vengo en seco

  • Jazz/Rock/Classical flute, THAT IS AMAZING!!!!!!!!

  • .....fantastica!!!!!!!!!!..........

  • couldnt agree more you cant touch this today

  • I just love this arrangement including the chord progression and the killer bass.

  • go js go get bach where you once belonged!

  • Best melodic bass I've ever heard!!!

  • @beese64 yes, Bach was actually good at it !!!!!! :-)

  • @beese64 yeah Bach is the one to beat...

  • @beese64 ...both Cornick (bass) and Barre (guitar etc.) are among the most underrated masters in rock history.

  • Hay en youtube un video de los mismos tocando un blues en un pub 40 años después.

  • Some of the kooolest bass riffs ever

Great tune by 'dem 'ol English hippies

  • ok thenks

  • wat meens bouree ....?

  • @alexdr2009 It's a kind of dance or tune

  • In this case, bouree is a piece by Bach, Bouree in E minor, this inspired jethro tull's integrants to make this song, included in the 1969 album "Stand Up"

  • @alexdr2009

Bourrée is the name of an ancient French dance. It was very popular in the 16th century and also later on. This piece was composed by J. S. Bach and is one of the movements of his Suite in e-minor for Solo Lute (BWV 996).

  • @007strauss Bourrée means in french "drunk girl". Elle est bourrée = She's drunk.

  • @007strauss ...and then twisted, jazzed, improvised upon and revamped by Mr. Anderson and his fellow geniuses!!! :-)

  • @007strauss : ) I first heard Tull as a kid and wondered why they did a song about a Cajun card game. It wasn't until years later I found that Boure' was also a type of dance from long ago. For the longest time I imagined Ian and the gang sitting around a table playing cards with this playing in the background.

  • Finally a video/song where the bassist gets recognition and doesn't back a song. Luv it!!

  • My favourite song :___D

Anyone knows who the gas mask guys are?

  • you all know this is oniginally written by Bach.....?

  • Did this get negative feedback b/c ppl think you're wrong or b/c they feel like you're being condescending? Either way, yes, I knew that this is a re-working of a piece from one of Bach's works.

  • yup!! duno why ppl are disagreeing...

  • que hermosa rolaaaa!!!

    y el hippie no maaa

hubiera querido ya estar vido en esa epoca u.u

  • = mi papa si viv en esa epoca y es fanatikisimo de jetrho tull en verdad son genios

  • Absolutely amazing! That's the version I admire!

  • I remember buying this album the day it was released. Loved it and especially this song. Their little touch of classical and jazz flavorings. A fun group to see!

Saw them at the Fillmore E. several times.

  • jethro was my first favorite group , and still been

  • Great video! Love the guys with gas masks at the end too! My all-time fav band from High School and still ranks very high on the short list.

  • One of my most favorite songs that my mother used to play...ah, the good ol' days of awesome rock.

  • lol

  • hi guys, i have a problem. i just signed up with sheetmusicplus but please tell me what is an order number? it is my first order so what` ll my order number be? what do i write in the blank space? please tell me. i dont understand a thing about it.

  • Chingon is a simple mexican word with force,it means also , cool,as dragonresonante cybermusician expres....

  • Che capolavoro, da pelle d'oca. La linea di basso è incantevole

  • Simply superb. It's a "live" mimic but the recording is, of course, the original STUDIO version of Anderson's arrangement of Bach's Bourée for the Stand Up album of 1969 (where Martin Barre helps out as second flutist). // [DragónResonante: ojalá se abstenga Vd. de escribir majaderías u obscenidades aquí en YT, por favor.
