It is being used for training. QFD was given free use of the dive park for training. Also now other departments in the region get to training in an over head environment. You want a old rig to fix, up, cool, go buy one off e-bay. I would prefer a rig serve a useful purpose like this instead of sitting in a garage 364 days a year, and only come out for one parade. Oh by the way, most parades have working rigs in them not an ugly Mack. You want a parade truck, get a 1950' Lafrance.......
@jlm993 that could have been donated to a poor fire department one that is just starting up....but hay im not judjing uses for sinking that truck.....oh and the department im with have a truck in bad condition
CFDPaul and others posting.. do you go out and save old trucks? or do you just tell other people what they should do with their property? fact is, the truck is being enjoyed by thousands of people, not sitting in some garage.
@spankham73 i agree and disagree a truck shouldnt just sit in a non fire hall/garage only fire departments should be allowed to owne fire trucks unless you are using it to water fields or something like that.....and that hurt to wotch that truck hit the water
It says "rolls" into ?? ooooooo k i have to ask wtf.. i would LOVE to know why this was done, someone please find out. OH TRUST me, being in the fire service back when these models were in service im definitly going to have a comment for ANY reason *stupid
@herbiedrumr369 This engine was donated to a training facility that has many other things underwater for scuba diver rescue training. Glad to see it put to good use after retirement but still sad to see it underwater. I remember when we got this engine new in about 1967. Donated for training by the city of Quincy Ill.
This is so sad how could you desicrate a fire truck I guess you must not have the heart for firefighting like I do I have my fire truck out back and I have only drove it once I will never get rid of it I wish I could have saved this truck also
Yeah, I'm sure it was great in it's day.. But, it's over. It'll be a great thing for SCUBA divers to explore. Out here on the coast they sink vintage military vessels. They become a home for many species of underwater life and make for great places to dive.
@TheLSK and to chakie14. I think this was an honorable for this fire truck. It served for many years and now it was put to rest by sinking it. It is now a haven for fish and gives divers something to explore. Its a much better fate than being cut up at a scrapyard.
that is so cool.....

The airbags were used in moving the fire truck into position in the quarry where it was then lowered to the bottom.

Why do they have the airbags on it if they want it to sink

Which means for one whole day no-one will visit youtube. This is to show the

a corporate money-making tool. We want vevo and other companies out.
Do your part, copy and paste this onto other videos, and give this comment a thumbs
