  • It's boring because it was aimed at boring people in a boring 1980's-type office, the kind that doesn't exist much anymore.

Yeah bro. White, grey and black. TOTALLY.

  • @DcAeGaming Compared to the monochrome black and green command line computers that existed at the time, yeah, the Lisa was very graphical.

  • But can it run cry...oh who am I kidding....

  • waaaaaaaaaaaaaa jajajajajajaj xDDDDD POBRE GENTE EN SU TIEMPO D:

  • HAHAHAAHA 3:56. His face is priceless

  • @Cropduster777 that comment is really fucking getting overused.

  • WHY WOULD U PUT. IT'S 1983 SORRY" i'm from the 80's and i wouldn't give a shit if these stupid kids laugh. they need to learn a lil history instead of sitting on their asses all day!

  • @bigben1986 he put that because in the video it says 1984.

  • Getting rid of information. The Wastepaperbasket. NICE.

  • think it can run World of warcraft?

  • why didn't dolly parton do this video?

  • @Zergling29

This is from 1983, the first windows 1.0 was from 1986 and it also took them until windows 2.0 to have dragable, "free floating" windows and icons like the lisa had in 1983.

How could this be a rip-off of windows 3.1 if this was 7 years earlier than windows 3.1?

I'm not trying to be mean but insulting someone to get their facts straight while telling false things is pretty, well pathetic.

And now start to tolllololollolloololooooool :P

  • This was the first procrastination machine.

  • why am i wathing this?

  • But the real question is......will it blend?

  • on the next 20 years they will be laughing on our gaming rig

  • 1kb of RAM ??

  • @keepsyougoing1 As Bill Gates said : we will not need more then 640kb of ram!

  • or you can just double click the folder

  • invent graphics dont u actually need graphics

  • hahahahah i bet the HD was about 100 MB or less hahahahha lol

  • "You see what I mean about the screen? It's very graphical." xD

I know this is old but I just can't take that seriously.

  • Try the snow effect... ;D

  • Guess Lisa didn't liked to be double clicked.

  • @elhacienda aw, that's so sweet.:D

  • @elhacienda AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAAHAHAHAH

  • he sounds like he is fucking lisa

  • a folder with in a folder...

    foldception

  • The comments that are "hahahah wow this shizit sux0rs" are really stupid. If you had 2 brain cells to rub together you'd realize that this was SUPER important stuff back then, and directly influenced what we use today. Maybe that's the difference between someone working on their Ph.D (me) and ignorant fools like a lot of these people commenting.

  • @infosecmgr1 Well, I'm not working on a Ph.D and yet I value the information provided here. I couldn't help but be amazed all the way through the video. This is 1983 and he is running a GUI. Just considering the limits they had back then, makes it that more awesome, for lack of better words.

  • 2:01 LOL if its so graphical, then how come it looks like 32 BIT proseser

  • @gabecho Nice grammar.

  • He's telling everything like we are 3 years old and retarded!

  • @xFLYBATx back then it was different, moron.

  • @infosecmgr1 Oh shit dude everyone realizes that. I just noticed a comic effect and real moron is who can't see it.

  • This guy is a really good actor.

  • OMGOMGOMGOMGOGMOGMGOMGOMGOGMGOMG!!!!11!1!!!!!!1 THIS MAKES MY COMPUTER LOOK LIKE SHIT!!! <<<<saaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaarcaaaaaaaaaaaaasim,

  • omg! i want to trade in my ipod touch 4g for this thing!!! and play shadow gun on it! :)

  • OMG ... gr8 upload LISA was 10k back in 83' and had 1mb of memory.. This makes the moon landing look like a scam ... Think how far we have come my 4gs is leaps and bounds faster, more powerful and its portable ....

  • Eu fico imaginando a loucura que foi essa época, as primeiras interfaces gráficas!

  • Probably like 1Mb of video memory.

  • Why no 1080P darn it?!

  • LOL on how he clicked THE mouse button - the ONLY button on that mouse =D

  • He should learn how to touch type so that he can be much more faster...

  • Lol Apple Lise looks like a coffe machine

  • A 5 year old could be a CEO if he had a time machine to this year.

  • 5:58 lmao at the way he's typing

  • Hi I'm Ron Burgundy

  • Can I browser the internet?

  • Very graphical.

  • Amazing, this computer was so revolutionary. Its such a shame that Jobs lost the court battle, for Gates stole that shit, gangster style. Than again Jobs stole it 2, what can you do, but its amazing to see how much this computer set the pace for the future. Urgh I remember my old DOS machines, OUCH

  • hahahaha "with this unique item; called a mouse"

  • @Eunuchorn1 dont do this to mee its shocking! :DDD

  • @Eunuchorn1 I'm old enough to remember when a mouse was a unique item!

  • It loosk like a microwave

  • who cares, i can do all of that with my phone

  • The beginning seemed as the intro to a porn movie...

  • "my lisa is different" O_o... You make it sound like a slave or something

  • buying an apple Lisa will waste your jobs

  • This reminds me of a Johnny Walker Whiskey Commercial

  • HAhah wastepaperbasket made me laugh.

  • God damn did this thing really cost 10 thousand dollars in the 80's? For that price lisa better give me good blow jobs and make me breakfast on top of all the office document crap.

  • Booooooooooring

  • But will it blend?

  • loading the software with a stack of 5inch floppy disks lol

  • overclock that bidz

  • $10,000 price tag, and yet Apple trashed whatever Lisa's they didn't sell in a landfill. That's business :D

  • @PwnageFoU No they didn't. They re-labeled them as "Macintosh XL"s and sold them for about 1/2 the price.

  • @ToyKingWonder Darn. I knew I should have never trusted that agender person who told me all this. You know, the Internet.

  • @PwnageFoU I don't know if you are being a dick, or clueless. I'll help you out. I configured and demo'd the 2nd Lisa in Los Angeles, at Computer Showcase, which was on Pico in West LA. The first one in LA was at a big Apple shop in Santa Monica. I personally sold that one, and upgraded a good dozen of them out of the Twiggy drives. I installed the first batch of new Macintosh's as well, and upgraded dozens of them to third party hard disk configurations. To get rid of the last Lisas,

  • @ToyKingWonder I was being honest; you think I'm stupid enough to believe everything I read on the Internet? Yes, I can believe some things (you have to believe or else what is concrete?), but most of the information stated on something like a Youtube discussion should be taken with a grain of salt regardless as there are no sources being cited whatsoever, except for first-hand experience (which is also truth based) mind you. Now, why are you calling me a dick again?

  • @PwnageFoU con't....they were rebadged as Mac XLs...we received two of them to resell and we did. They literally had stickers on them that went over the Lisa logo on the box and you could see right through them. Perhaps you should have read your "Wikipedia" article a bit more complete, which shows this landfill article from ONE magazine resource. I am not saying some were not buried, but most by far were rebadged and sold at a discount, and they sold quick. So unless you were there, STFU.

  • 2:29 "with this unique item called a mouse" :-D

  • Thanks for making me feel like a fucking dinosaur. I still remember when this was hot stuff. If I ever have to go back in time and live the whole 20th Century, I'll probably kill myself long before getting my iPad.

  • Hehe unique item. lol

  • It seems apple was pretty tense from IBM's PC 5150, as they keep referring to the Lisa as a "Personal Computer", and aiming advertising towards the business market.

  • 1:43 "Let me show you how I did this" Who cares about how he did that document. I want to know how he split himself in two!

  • "We control Lisa by pointing at these images with this unique item called a mouse"

LOL ---- who is this weird fuck who never heard of a mouse before ??

  • i wants that old mouse :P

  • 30 years later and it still comes with a one-button mouse.

  • So.. you have direct access to budget and financial papers of your company but you dont lock your computer so anyone would be able to get all your files ?? No wonder your company is properbly is gone by now.. hehe.

  • Yeah. But does it run Crysis ??

  • R.I.P. Steve Jobs!

  • OMG IS THIS THE FIST MAC OS THAT HAS A MOUSE!!!!!!!

  • It's very "graphical"!From that "graphic" I could kill myself!

  • probably still easier to use than windows 7

  • @TheGameMessenger Really... It's hard for you to use windows 7? And if you mean Networking, They make it about as easy as it can get. I already knew everything in the networking class i took before i took it. It's easy to teach yourself. (For some people i guess)

  • a waste paper basked loooooool :D

  • I simply..

    I simply..

    I simply..

    I simply..

    I simply..

    Now I simply..

    Use the pointer..

    I simply..

    -_- That's kinda repetitive..

  • hes telling it like we are cave men :D

  • @Speed1Killer1 If you brought people from 1983 to 2011, they would be cavemen. -.-

  • @Speed1Killer1

Well, back then, the only people with personal computers were very wealthy or those that were lucky enough to have a boss that bought one.

In 1983, I'm sure this was as amazing as us watching a new glasses-less 3DTV today.

  • A PC can't do any of that

  • @cassettiespagetie: You think this video is "Shitty" and "geeky"??? YOU obviously seem to have NO clue about (computer) history or video making in general. What we see here is way ahead of its time! It is NOT SHITTY and it IS NOT GEEKY! They are just using Video to explain software and hardware but of course the way they do is different from today.

  • he types funny

  • Still years away from Windblows. Micro$oft was selling little ugly clunky bits of green code called DOS when this ad was made, took them years to catch up to Apple then steal their thunder with an OS that was all hype without substance.

  • @ToonsTent I guess doing actual research is too hard, just making shit up because you have an iPad is much easier.

Windows had the first interface-based Operating System, that's why they grew to such a success over Apple. Lisa is actually an adaptation of Windows 3.1, sort of like how the Droid is a ripoff of the iPhone.

I know you think that Apple is "totally cool" because all your celebrity icons have them, but Windows was the beginning of what we think of computers today.

  • @Zergling29 so you're telling that Apple Lisa (1983) is an adaptation on Windows 3.1 (1992)?

  • @Zergling29 Sorry to burst your bubble, but I was there. Yes, I'm that old. Micro$oft stole from Apple, it's not what you want to hear but it's true. Windows has a poor design & it just plain isn't a very good operating system. It's buggy, virus prone and crashes often. The only reason Micro$oft got so far ahead is because people could buy the software and run it on just about any PC whereas Apple required you to buy their computer & Apple CEOs made the big mistake of firing Steve Jobs in 1985.

  • @ToonsTent So you're telling me, that in a time where Personal Computers were a brand new piece of technology, in which the Internet wasn't even available to the public and was simply reserved on closed networks for universities, laboratories and military sects, the first Microsoft computers were virus-prone?

I think someone here is telling a little fib ;)

  • @ToonsTent Also, today, Windows operating systems have roughly eight times the amount of security protocols than any Macintosh operating system.

Macs make up 13% of the entire worlds' computers' OS. Windows is on 81% of all computers in the world. Now think - If you were a virus codemonkey and you were trying to make a virus, would you create one that spread over the 13% population of computers, or would you start spreading your program across the 81%?

Apple is terrible in every way.

  • @Zergling29 Settle down, MS fan boy. I've used both operating systems over the years in my line of work. Putting them both side by side, Windows laughable at how buggy it is. Whenever some noob sent us a graphics job that was Windows based, we knew the nightmare that was ahead. With all their billions, why can't Micro$oft come up with an original idea? Without the Mac ... there would be no Windows. Without the iPad, there would be no Android. So nice to own a computer that just plain WORKS.

  • @ToonsTent So. List one of the bugs that Windows has. If you say "WELL IT GETS VIRUSES" or "BLUE SCREEN OF DEATH' you're a tool. Macs are extremely prone to crashing, and nobody is going to write viruses for Macs which are only a small percentage of the computers in the world.

Listen, I know you like your Macs and you cling to it like a child because of "look at all the shiny buttons!" and "omg this is so eaaasssyyy!", you like having overpriced hardware. I get it. But learn your facts, friend.

  • @Zergling29 ... sigh ... this is like arguing with GW Bush, ignorant and dumb as a post. I'm done. You're obviously a brainwashed idiot, save your keystrokes, you will be ignored.

  • @ToonsTent Typical. I ask for a logical discussion. You say that there's TONS of bugs with Windows but when I call you out on it you just insult me.

Typical Mac user - uneducated, simple-minded and unable to handle any topic other than "omg its so shiny"

  • a wastepaperbasket. lmao

  • @nagged55 Lol..thats the one that got me...LOL

  • he impressed girl with computer. if i buy computer. girls will be impressed by me

  • why does this piece of shit cost so much?!?

  • OMG!

YOU CAN STORE FOLDERS INSIDE FOLDERS, IMPOSSIBLE! RIP Lisa

  • I think you should update your operating system, that one is obsolete.

  • can it run crysis?

  • @DIDx1xTAKExYOURxSEAT it cant run street fighter 2 lol

  • @DIDx1xTAKExYOURxSEAT Yeah , in text mode .

  • @DIDx1xTAKExYOURxSEAT Sure... Why not ?

  • I lol'd a little :P

  • Does anybody typing on keyboard with two point fingers like pro in 2011?

  • whait a sec ,is the name of the folder Opus Project?

I thought it should be New Folder by default! XD

  • You see Lisa Screen isss (skip) Now You can think...

skip part is where he says SHIT!

    Its very graphical!

  • 1:41 his soul leaves here so that he can really hock the product

  • So great to watch this while reading the Steve Jobs biography. Thanks!

  • "unique item called mouse" when he says that it makes me want to get into a time machine.
