I can only do 1 pullup so far right now. how can how I reach the point of 21 muscle ups, that is my goal. better to aim high, and at least reach close to it one day. I want to do this clean. @auq21 Just hang from it without pullin up.. The more time u spend hangin from the bar the harder the inside of ur hand will get.. Dun ask questions when u can find ur own answer... All you gotta do is practise..

@klaryon If its only minor scoliosis I doubt it would stop you from doing pull ups, they aren't a move which puts massive strain on your spine, probably best to ask a doctor or someone who knows what they are talking about first though.

@leafblowinSK8 turn that 8 pulls ups into 1-2 pull ups when you go up if your doing front pull ups..your going to want to try to go to both corners of your pull ups, if thta makes any sence look up the barbarians and you can see what im talking about you want to lower the amount of reps and get the strength and then revert to reps and then back to form rep form rep form rep form ..switch it every week 1/2 or so
@ThePropheticfire For a women or beginners, start of with a reverse grip pull up and do between 1 set of 5-20 reps within 2-3 sets. And if possible try to do as many sets as you can but not overdone. And after you're able to do the reverse grip pull ups, try doing the lower pull up bar(Note: Not too high or not too low) recommend- play ground so called 'monkey bar' before doing the main pull up. Remember this, follow this video guide and be patient with your training. Good luck in doing it!

@ps3alexpr i personally have one and i went from a person who couldnt do a pull up to doing 15... put the bar in the room u use the most and just bang out as much u can do.. trust me it is going to be money well spent

I grew up in gymnastics so don't remember so much now how I got into pullups. We started with exercising just hanging on the high bar for grip strength. Over the years the strength came of course. Lots of pullups and muscle ups came in time. The idea is to force the lats to do much of the initial work before transitioning to other muscle groups.

Hi strength project. I can do 5 of these standard pullups. but about the gripping part where u hang on the bar as long as you can, i realised my left hand grip is alot weaker than my right hand. That's probably why i cant even do the monkey bar. What should i do?
@Fallndrkness well u can either get flour and put it on ur hands, that helps ur hands from sweating or u can buy some workout gloves, there real cheap @ wal mart or any sports store...

I first saw this video about a month ago, at which point I could only do pull-ups by jumping.
I can't say I followed this training plan exactly, because the truth is, I didn't. I mixed it up, and slacked off a little, and in recent weeks, I've hardly had time to train. But this video was what got me started, and without it I'm pretty sure I'd still be stuck.

I like to jump up and hold it så my head is over the bar, try to hold it for as long as i can and contoinue to hold against all the way down while I slowly is forced back to the ground again.
So far I can hold myself over the bar for 5 seconds, and the maybe postbone myself getting on the ground again for like 10 seconds. But i started training this only 4 days agoo and have had massive improvements alreay. I hope I will be able to do one real pullup soon!:)

Hi strength project. I can do 5 of these standard pullups. but about the gripping part where u hang on the bar as long as you can, i realised my left hand grip is alot weaker than my right hand. That's probably why i cant even do the monkey bar. What should i do?

the word for contracting a muscle and not moving in a range of motion is isometric or iso. thats the word you were looking for. Cool video

Ok my hands sweat really bad so it makes pullups difficult cuz my hands will like slide when im trying to do them. Any suggestions?

@Fallndrkness well u can either get flour and put it on ur hands, that helps ur hands from sweating or u can buy some workout gloves, there real cheap @ wal mart or any sports store...

Today I did my first pull-up. And my second. And my third.
I first saw this video about a month ago, at which point I could only do pull-ups by jumping.
I can't say I followed this training plan exactly, because the truth is, I didn't. I mixed it up, and slacked off a little, and in recent weeks, I've hardly had time to train. But this video was what got me started, and without it I'm pretty sure I'd still be stuck.

Hey mate . Your videos are awesome . I started about two months ago when i was at the point i couldn't do a pull up with the beginners tutorial (with no speech :P) and now after every day exercise i can do 5 (a lil bit of cheating tho xD) . I like to jump up and hold it så my head is over the bar, try to hold it for as long as i can and contoinue to hold against all the way down while I slowly is forced back to the ground again.
So far I can hold myself over the bar for 5 seconds, and the maybe postbone myself getting on the ground again for like 10 seconds. But i started training this only 4 days agoo and have had massive improvements alreay. I hope I will be able to do one real pullup soon!:)

good tutorial dude i did exactly this kind of things when i couldn't do a pull up =] now i can do up to 5 in a set.Show us some more pull up workouts showing how to increase the number.

@strengthproject hey man i was wondering if u have any tips so i could increase from 0 pull ups to 3 by April 1st u see i am in the marines delayed entry program but i suffered an injury right before i went to boot camp but they gave me till april and when i tried to do pull ups i couldnt even do 1 so im tripping out because if i cant do atleast 3 i cant ship so any help i would greatly appreciate it

@strengthproject Sup Arash. You know more about this than I do, but I was wondering if it's a good idea to do pull ups everyday? Don't the muscles need a day of rest for this exercise depending on soreness?
