The purpose of cameras is to provide a sense of security. It makes people feel safe. If I wished I could commit a crime and walk past hundreds of CCTV but unless I choose to show the camera my face then the CCTV would prove usless. A lot of people who installed CCTV at their homes are slowly learning this when something occurs at their home and the criminal has his face covered.
