@EliasGYBE Kayo Dot's "Dowsing Anemone with Copper Tongue" is kind of jazzy, but its definitely more droney rather than ambient. their album "Choirs of the Eye" is kind of the same concept but with more of a complex classical composition rather than jazz based. Both are worth checking out but I wouldn't say they're 'easily accessible', gotta listen to em a bit before it starts to sink in.
I found this video, stoned, at 3am the other night and flipped out over how brilliant it is. Now, I come back completely sober a few days later, and I still think it's fucking brilliant! Congratulations, man! You're a total artist.
"Knew I shouldn'ta trusted that dame. The moment those legs walked into my office, I knew they'd be nothing but trouble. Guess I got a weakness for cute little things with tears in their eyes. And look where it got me: trapped in a place nobody's ever meant to be. Thought I felt something on my shoulder. Feels wet, rubbery like squid. Head's spinning; can't find the floor. If I get out of this, I'm swearing off sushi for good."
Haha, honestly, I just thought of a generic film noir line...you know, 1930's detective in his office, reflecting on things. Lol. That's what their music reminds me of.
I finally got this CD in the mail yesterday. It's everything I could have hoped for. The whole album is essentially a mirror put in front of your face that reminds you just how horrible an existence we all lead.
I have to say, its really interesting how here is comments about remindings, visions about something through this song, but yet I don't understand this kind of music. I've been "in my yard" in black metal, but this is much more... Should I say mature, sophisticated. I would like some recommendations on more "Silent Hillish"-music like this, because I don't really know what to look for.
You're looking too far into it. It's minimalism. It's art. It's a jam. It isn't trying to "say" anything, there's no hidden message. Just close your eyes and listen. Just absorb the rhythm. Feel the blues running through you. Allow the music to take control. You might see something. You might not see anything. Everybody will experience this music differently and that's the point. It's modern music - it's more of a drug than a statement. It's made to be experienced, not read.
@tusssid i remember those days well, me and you used to play hop skotch with a hotch potch of blotch medicine, remember when you told that bus driver you could fly, and he told you his wife sucked off truck drivers when he was at work? great memories, thanks for all the fun.
This is just gorgeous....I can't help but picture myself on a bus in the rain when I hear them...It's very rarely that any music gives me those sorts of images, if any at all....And that's saying something, since I listen to all kinds of music.
So I searched for "Melancholic Bands" on net, and came accross a few forums. And by chance in the 100's of options I picked this as my sorta, last resort I hate heavy metal / death rock bands being placed into that genre attempt.
And wahey! At least with this song It was worth the 30 min search.
