Învăţa instrumentiştii, le explica de ce trebuie să facă într-un anumit fel, glumea, se bucura cînd ieşea bine, trăia muzica la mare intensitate. Numai cîteva din motivele pentru care era socotit printre cei mai buni
Simply awesome. Celibidache was a giant who preferred to keep a low profile, as close as possible to the essence of the great masters' music. This video offers further proof of his instinct and insight. Thanks for posting!
Hi, yes I saw a VHS of Celi and Barenboim playing the Brahms 2nd, and also some big laser disc of Sony's Celi playing Bruckner's symphony ago, I was still a teenager at that time and didnt know about Celi's great music making.
I regret of not buying those treasure recording, which could not be found anywhere now, except some are posted in youtube. And I just could not understand why SONY do not reissue those Bruckner Celi recording on DVD now.
One of the greatest videos I haver ever seen, thanks a lot for publishing it, I have to admit that I don´t have a lot of recordings from Celibidache but a friend of mine is a big fan and I have been discovering that he was one of the greatest conductors ever. You have allowed me to know an artist from inside, thanks again
Don't know when and where that video was recorded. What I only know is that this rehearsal is part of a VHS I received from a friend, years ago. The VHS has two parts: the first where Celi performs Dvorak's 9th entire symphony, followed by the second part, a documentary by Jan Schmidt-Garre, where you can find this excerpt of Beethoven 9th symphony rehearsal, and many other very interesting moments with the Maestro.
This video was def. recorded in Munich in the Philharmonic Orcestra house Gasteig by the Munic Philharmonic Orcestra, where Celi was working until he died. He made the orcestra world famous!!
Impossible early 80's , Celibidache was already a little bit handicaped at this video as he needed to take a place to conduct , so that can say to me , that this video was filmed around 92/93.

Sunt doua lumi complet diferite?
Nu tocmai ;)

Mai precis: Beethoven dirijat de Celi, fata de Beethoven dirijat de altcineva. Asta vroiam sa spun.
