Thats whats funny about this world the people who need the money to survive an other day dont have and the people who have it spend it in over price shit like this, and no iam not a communist, ShqiptariAL spend your money in whatever the fuck you want to spend it, cheers...
you can make it sound as good as you want iam not paying almost $2000 for that shit i give you $100 bucks and will feel bad about it cuz i feel like i over pay... they are just binoculars not a fucking car!!!!
that guy is so BSing, never seen a bino with such high on the resolution charts? Well then maybe you may wanna check out top LEICA, Swaro and zeiss binoculars?
On a more serious note, I've got the EDG's and they are awesome. Even though expensive, they are still a few hundred less than the Euro equivalents. I'm more upset by the recent pricing trends of binoculars in general. The top models are up by 30-40% just in the last few years. It's getting a bit out of hand.
@patrikasLTL any binocular of this magnification is gonna be SHIT, its a fact. Magnification is only 1 part of the equation. tell me, is it nice to hold them for long periods of time? :D
@patrikasLTL listen dude, if you want 40x magnification get a freaking spotting scope or telescope. Whats the ocular size?? 50mm? Well then you have 1.2 exit pupil, wow you can only watch anything in the direct sunlight., otherwise everything will be very very dim. Don't tell me that theyre good, coz you obviously haven't seen GOOD binoculars!!
PS: I wonder, do your eyes hurt after prolonged usage? You better stop using them otherwise they will mess up your sight.
i have only owned Bushnell before picking up a pair of 10x50 Action Extreme binos. Im blown away, the Nikons for the price are superior to anything i have had. And these are the low end nikons. I mainly use them for astronomy viewing.
for 130 dollars O ring sealed, nitrogen filled. Good eye relief. Can't go wrong
I believe this is an ED glass bino, which costs close to $2,000. I think I'd go for Pentax ED instead. I recently got Pentax 10x50 SP series, which is very nice actually, made in Japan, too. Still, my favorite are the 7x50 Fujinon FTMR-SX, and 10x50 FTM-SX.
I'm sure they are great binocs, Nikon has copied the Swaovski's EL's in nearly every regard with the EDG. The least they could do is offer them for less money.
@robblac I would have to know a little more to properly make a reccomendation. Are you going to be viewing them during the day while your neibor is sunbathing perhaps, or mainly in low light situations like at night while she's changing? Do you need to be light on your feet as to flee the scene quickly, or are you pretty much tripod based like from a window? And lets not forget about how far away you are, and how good your neibor looks. You just might not want the highest resoloutioin available.
@Photo314159 well as this comment i made was a year ago, things have moved on from then, i have since move in with my neigbour and view her breasts on a regular basis, to be honnest im bored of look at them, i did notice a new neighbour the other day, but she is quite a bit away, so i have just bough a step ladder and a balaclava...i will keep you updated as long as i have my liberty.
What a joke. For the money, you can get Zeiss Victory's, arguably the best binoculars on the market. Nikon has always operated on the basis of offering good value. They cannot compete with the German manufacturers who have been in the business of making optics before Japan was civilized.
Regardless of the history of optics industries of Germany and Japan, the image of the Nikon SE binoculars is considered by many birders to be the best, bar none. The roofs, be they from Europe or Asia, are still playing catch up with the SE in the image quality department more than 10 years after the SE's were introduced. If Nikon can put the SE image in a waterproof compact roof configuration, I don't see why they can't price them close to the European alphas.
may want to check out swarovski, i hear they were the best? lmao!

These were actually discontinued in favor of a new model. I like the look of this model better than the new one.

they weigh like 1.5 kilos, all made of rubber, waterproof. What are you trying to get at here? "My cup is superior, therefore you are inferior"?

@patrikasLTL oh this sounds so much better, haha
if you like them good for you then. But overall me - an experienced user would advise you to get something like 10x50 or 10x42 rather than 20x ;)
