  • can this plane be fitted with the 600 Horsepower Trace Engine and converted to run on AGE 85 Aviation Grade Ethanol? the turbocharged V-8 maintains cruse power all the way up with an estimated 600 hp maximum takeoff and 500 hp maximum continuous, an equivalent turbo prop engine would need to be rated as much as 1,000 horsepower at sea level. the info is from their video. I think their weight specifications match this plane, but i cant remember. Id love to see this plane on AGE85 fuel.

  • that guy said viking bought the dash 7 rights also. Now that is one COOL plane! wonder if they will ever start making it?

  • in libya we have over ten plan from twin otter 300 that is why ilike it

  • I like this plane

  • Glass cockpit in a Twin Otter....that's just wrong!

  • I spent a few summers as a teen as a cargo swamper on Twotters up north. My favorite of all time! It is so awwesome they are back in production!

  • How cool would a modern Chipmunk be? :D

Don't think there is any market for it anymore though. Modern Fighters are also tricycle geared now, so would make no sense to learn pilots up on a taildragger.

Would still be cool as a sports aircraft though. Ligthened and stronger engine compared to the old chippie would make for quite an aircraft..

  • I wish I could fly in one!

  • I hope they start making the DHC-3T. :(

  • I need one!

  • Paul, the Twin Otter was made until 1986 not just in the 60s. Just sayin. ;-)

  • @critter592 They stopped making them in 88.

  • Air Seychelles is getting 2 for the seychelles domestic fleet and i think it will be the ownly levery on the airplane that will look sexy she will be looking nice in air Seychelles colour

  • yup but i wonder if they will keep the DCH 6-300s

  • You go Dave!!

  • I think this is fantastic. The Twin Otter is a blast to fly as well as an incredible machine that gets the job done.

Would love to get my hands on one of the Viking DHC-6's.

  • Glad to see the Twotter back in production.

  • it's not production just modification.........right?

  • Not mods, it's a brand new airplane.

  • @DrPilotRedC Viking bought the type certificates, designed upgrades to make it series 400, and has already flown the first off the line. As of 3 years ago, 27 had been ordered, probably more by now.

  • I wish I had one!

  • you just need 2 million dollars ! :D
