@Tribefull ~looks down at the line in the sand~ Remember Remember the 31st of December, the Treasonous NDAA plot, I can think of NO reason that the 31st of December should ever be forgot...
@CamiloSanchez1979 Protesting =/= fighting for freedom. In the case of the Arab Spring, the people generally want SOME freedom, but especially not religious freedom - and none for women, gays, etc. OWS is somewhat different, in that it demands not freedom, but free STUFF from the government (i.e. their neighbors) in the form of healthcare, etc. Even worse, the one thing it is right about - corporatism and cronyism - is being fought by attacking what remains of actual free capitalism.
@mtanousable you are such an ignorant fuck..OWS demands accountability of the corporations that sunk the economy under the flag of capitalism when it was a socialized system that bailed them out. If we had to follow real free market capitalistic rules, then there wouldn't be GMC, nor Chase bank inc. And we would be in the deepest crisis ever!!.
@CamiloSanchez1979 The economy was sunk due to the Federal Reserve and Government Enterprises like Freddie Mae and Fannie Mac. The risky banking they pushed, and the bailouts institutionalized, is the problem. A real free market would let people that do stupid shit like "subprime loans" die, and if you think there is anything "free" about the market over the last few decades, you are deluded. Stupidity should not be supported - and GMC, etc. should be GONE. Accountability is irrelevant.
@mtanousable No the economy was sunk because billions spent in the Iraq invasion and the Afghan war. The credit overload is a byproduct of a consumerist society. Nothing to do about that last part.
@CamiloSanchez1979 While the Iraq and Afghan wars were totally off base, they didn't cause the economic problems we are suffering from. Even prior to 9/11, Congressman Ron Paul was able to predict the housing crisis. "Generous credit and quasi-government agencies make these mortgage markets robust, but a correction will come when it is realized that the builders and the lenders have gotten ahead of themselves." (Feb 99) I'm going to go with the guy that knows enough to predict these things.
@mtanousable Ron Paul is totally out of touch with reality and his economic proposals are mostly theory and usually they have never been tried. I personally find him totally out of touch with reality, although I praise his ability to criticize his own country even if it affects him politically
@CamiloSanchez1979 I'd say that predicting the various economic crises over the last few decades is a pretty good trial for these economic theories. They certainly have more credibility than the Keynesian approach that leads to crisis after crisis.
I find Paul to be more in touch with reality than most politicians. He is in touch with the reality of blowback from foreign interventionism, the reality of the failure of central banking, and the reality of human liberty in ALL spheres of life.
No...as mtanousable correctly states, the wars are not the reason the economy is hemorrhaging. They are a disaster, but not the cause.
Credit to unqualified borrowers coupled with rating agencies that wanted to please investment banks by issuing trip A to CDOs based on the most toxic mortgages led to the crisis.

@Saebeck32 There are "death panels" and FEMA concentration camps coming. The former will necessarily occur when the money runs out for beneficial government programs - and the latter will be an outgrowth of the War on Terror pushed by Fox News. Both the left and the right are marching us down the path to serfdom and tyranny, just with different landmarks along the way.
@thearmyofgreatness But only one reports that FEMA concentration camps, death panels and rivers of blood are coming as if it was truth. Fox News stands alone in the bias and lying department.

@deemjsmile You can dedicate it to the whole damned world, this is where we are headed.
We seek leaders, not ideas. We seek safety, not freedom. We seek reassurance, not provocation. We seek the comfort of the well-known, rather than the unknown. We allow our lives to be dictated and controlled, and ourselves to be turned from human beings into disposable consumers.
Work, spend money, eat, sleep. Ever on repeat, occasionally interrupted by the need to breed or the latest thrill to excite us.
Every single political position, no matter its ideals, history, actions or membership, can adopt this speech (and unfortunately this entire movie) and claim it speaks for them and only them.
That is why, despite this movie being excellently written, shot, acted and edited, it is a dangerous thing. Much like the spectre of Hitler the tactics of McCarthy or the intentions of the USA founders, it can be twisted to mean almost anything, and all too often it is.
@Saavykaas By your philosophy, books, poetry, the spoken word unrestrained is a dangerous thing and by nature of your contempt for it you worry that the average man does not retain the ability to choose between right and wrong.
Freedom works because in the midst of the chaos a direction of betterment, exploration, the constant pursuit of the unknown could by nature of it's rapid change and fundamental indifference for the status quo be a revolution. The American revolution never ended...
This goes for the people in Durango mexico, ruled by an iron hand that opresses it students, and the governor thinks he is a viceroy, using the police forces for his own gain.... We need a V in here!
700 Children die in 3rd world countries every 7 minutes by natural & unnatural causes. Civil wars, starvation, disease, corrupt governments who obey there slave masters and there repression of the people because there loyalty are to those who enabled them... Fear a day of reckoning.. The reckoning of all your bullshit.
The U.S. is the last beacon of hope for mankind, sadly I don't expect those who spend all day in you tube to actually grasp this concept since most of you live in a vacuum.... ;0)
@bullpup33 and sadly the "last beacon of hope for mankind" would rather seemingly institutionalize totalitarian policies towards that same government or empire. This movie speaks against such a way and world that would do that. Your beacon of hope for mankind is on a bad path. I'm American too, we tread the same road. Our liberties are stolen and our morale value is dumbed down by our propaganda machine of news and other outlets of mass society. Sorry to write this though. Just think free.
@bullpup33 ... I am sorry, but you should really suppert the "last beacon of hope" statement. Repeating it over and over again --- it is a ghastly chliché -- doesn't make it true. The last beacon of hope might just as well be Groenland, Kiribati, or San Marino.
Capitalism kills millions of people every year. The corporations own society, the media, and the congress. We are bludgeoned on an hourly basis with cultural and pro-government propaganda and NO ONE REALIZES WHAT IS BEING DONE TO THEM; What they have been reduced to: slaves among the free, completely dependent on orthodoxy and free market capitalism to give them what they think they need. Do you know what the United States does to people for "freedom" ? Read Deterring Democracy by Noam Chomsky.
All political sovereigns destroy people. Its not about: Capitalism, communism, Libertarianism, or Socialism. Political sovereigns only exist because, humans are not saints.
It is inevitable that some oppression will exist with the existence of government. What I am imploring is to look past the two smiling, pasty faces on the ballet each term and see that they are exactly the same. We use propaganda methods pioneered by the Nazis in advertising. We exert our military might around the world in the name of business, not freedom. When you get down to the fundamentals, we are much more similar to Nazi Germany or the USSR than most realize or should be comfortable with.
You're right, there is something wrong with our country, and thank God that our nation's founding fathers aren't around to see what has become of their dream.
And let's not forget the corruption in the government, and the massive national debt that we trust our government to pay off. Also, let's not forget the massive taxes we're forced to pay, and the fact that most of the people in Washington D.C. couldn't spend money straight to save their lives, let alone our country.
Communism and facism are kissing cousins...but both are more economic terms than government terms...you could technically have a democratic communistic or facist society. I think the point here is against authoritarianism, however it defines itself
@neithan2000 Complete rubbish. Fascism is not an economic doctrine, it is a racialist doctrine. Communists can work within a democrat framework, as they do in France and Italy, but fascism is incompatible with democracy. The whole point of fascism is so an "all seeing leader" emerges and dictates according to his will.....not for there to be any "democracy" or challenge to his will. Clearly you haven't ever studied politics.
I think the point he was attempting to make is that communism and fascism, much like liberal and conserative, are ultimately just words bandied about by extremists on both sides who only pay lip service to political philosophy as they pursue political power.
Honestly, was Hitler's Holocaust any different from Stalin's Purges? Was the Gestapo any different in its methods from the NKVD. Were Himmler and Beria really such polar opposites?
@neithan2000 Not entirely sure why people liked a comment that said you can have a 'democratic fascist society' when the very definition of fascism is a single party, totalitarian nation.
@AjCassells Not necessarily. Fascism has always ended up that way, but in theory, it is possible for an elected representative to be given a dictator's power and still work for the people. The problem is anyone willing to use such power isn't thinking of the country's interests in the first place.
Proof of the divide between concept and execution, I suppose. Absolute power corrupts absolutely.
@neithan2000 Democracy and Socialism/Communism/Fascism are utterly incompatible with each other. Even Leon Trotsky was forced to admit this in the late stages of his career.
Jeez Bored, calling Communism and Fascism "basically opposites" is ridiculous. Both are Authoritarian systems typically with a strong military to stifle opposition, and a statist streak in which they control means of production!
The biggest difference seems to be that whereas Communism owns the means of production, Fascism 'only' controls it. Check out where Mussolini started as a die hard Communist and where he ended up, dangling from a piano wire by his Fascist neck.
They are not perfect opposites, but to say they are one and the same is ridiculous. Most communists I have ever met abhor fascists because fascists take the side of the corporation. And you are mistaken if you think that the USSR or N Korea or China is what Marx had in mind.
Also there are libertarian/anarchic forms of communism or socialism. Where the idea is that all the workers and all society is the government and controls production.Of course you probably have no use for society either.;)
(4) True, there are forms of Libertarian/Anarchic Socialism. The property rights issues are hard to buy into (pun intended). Personally, I would prefer something closer to Minarchism. Coercion is better avoided wherever possible. Communism and Fascism are ultimitely, coercive systems.
(3) Countless books have been written on the failures of Marxism in the real world. The failures stem from a deeply flawed system. The "Communist Manifesto" ought to be held up as the blueprint for what not to do. As such, it is unworthy of debate, especially in a forum such as this.
Forum is in Rome, this is internet...and disagree...Marx's Manifesto is a blueprint what to do...but to do it you need people who are not leaders because they are power-hungry,but because they want the best for the people...someone like Caesar back in the day
Me- I'll tell you what, howsa 'bout you look into Libertarian philosophy. Maybe look at the Libertarian Party Platform, hell, look up our buddy Doug Stanhope. I think your gonna be ok. Whenever you get those panicky feelings, just remember, the gun is your LAST choice.
Me- Look, people are coercively taxed now, and many still give above and beyond what is taken from them. You don't need government siphoning off their take, that's like paying protection to the mob.
Me- The answers are, yes, the individual, and those that feel a need to do so (anyone with a heart, I suppose).
You- But people won't give, we have an obligation to help others! Keep them from starving, freezing, doing bad things to their bodies, make sure they get to work, regulate how much they can make, and what about
You- wait... Are you implying that everyone should be able to do as they please, as long as they do not coerce anyone else? But who would make sure they are doing what they want? Who would make sure the less fortunate are cared for?
Me- Hold on, breath, let me get a word in. First off, this is an extremely important time for you. You, my friend, have the opportunity to see what's outside your cell.
Sure, sure, eventually the poor saps that can't somehow escape will quit struggling, much as a rape victim would after being beaten senseless. And then begins the long slow trudge towards mediocrity, paranoia, and the inevitable realization that the original goal of a stateless society cannot be achieved without VOLUNTARY participation. Btw, no Statist position can be achieved without the threat of violence, unless it is VOLUNTARILY achieved.
Or, would Caesar, fearing that his "fellow proletarians" will see the grass is actually green on the other side of the fence (Caesar has been telling them it has always been brown and it's people that steal by producing for themselves that make it that way), put the Libertarians in work camps or mass graves? History tells us that as a rule, Caesar will kill the Libertarians.
Of course, if only we had a leader who wants what's best for people to create a stateless society. Jeez, if only I had thought of that. Let's examine your premise, shall we? How would your fictional leader (let's call him Caesar) deal with say, Libertarians? Would Caesar "allow" them to freely associate with others in their own non-coercive society?
But I have so much to say, and "left" statists (Communists), usually stick to their own videos, deleting any dissenting views as they appear. Which by the way only exposes your irrational position more. The "right" statists (fascists), do essentially the same thing, but with a racist overtone. So, when you do pop up, you should expect to get a mouthful. ; )
I never deleted any comments from any of my videos...EVER....constructive criticism is fine....and what you are talking about 'stateless society'...thats anarchy, genius
Communism- A final stage of society in Marxist theory in which the state has withered away and economic goods are distributed equitably.
Source: Merriam-Webster Dictionary
I know not what you've done or not done on your videos. Did not mean to implicate you specifically. Deletion has been the norm of conversation with "them" in the past. therefore those that actually do engage outside of their sphere tend to get the brunt of my ire. Runnin' long again, funny, in person I'm an introvert.
(2) Both Communism & Fascism are defined here by their inherent control of social & economic activity. Futhermore, both are essentially one party systems making them, Authoritarian. They certainly are not one and the same, didn't claim they were, but they have much in common. It matters little if it is a Corporation or a Government that is repressing the individual, the results are the same.
(1) Fascism- A system of government marked by centralization of authority under a dictator, stringent socioeconomic controls, suppression of the opposition through terror and censorship, and typically a policy of belligerent nationalism and racism.
Communism- A system of social organization in which all economic and social activity is controlled by a totalitarian state dominated by a single and self-perpetuating political party.
wow this piece of fiction is a masterpeice it shows something. by telling the people this speech hes basically saying dont let the government spoon feed you this bullshit the may call me a criminal and a terrosist but i see the evil communsim in this government should serve as a lesson for all
No, he's saying that people shouldn't sacrifice freedom in exchange for security. And the Sutler government isn't communist, it's fascist. The two are basically opposites.
need proof? all you need to do is click here where he says (on purpose or not) adam sandler. I'm even nice enough to link it for those who can't find it on their own. 2:00
What we call Democracy is in fact a thinly disguised farce. We have no control over our government, and never will in the present money based system. Throw off the shackles and join the Movement. Watch Zeitgeist and Zeitgeist: Addendum.
Remember the idea, not the man, because a man can fail. He can be caught, he can be killed and forgotten, but 400 years later, an idea can still change the world.
You auto-assume that democracy is the best way to rule. I tend to disagree, democracy doesn't always work.
democracy means, the idea that most people have about a certain subject will be executed... but it's not because most people think that something is true, that it is in fact true, it is better to have someone do what he thinks his right for a small society, rather than have big societies like ours, who become uncontrollable.
I "auto-assume", I auto-assume nothing, to suggest I do would also suggest I have not thought about the alternative.
And seeing how democracy in the UK has been eroded and how democracy in the EU has never existed in its truest form. The only alternative to democracy is a dictatorship, either based on theology or ideology. And look where that has taken societies both now and in the past.
I've never heard of a benign dictatorship! Have you?
Hmm, well, Churchill said "Democracy is the worst form of government except for all those others that have been tried."
But hey, what if the majority wants to kill off the minority. There has to be laws against that. The Bill of Rights in the United States protects the minority from the majority. However, that's being ignored.
It's true to an extent, representative democracy simply does not work. At least not to levels of efficiency and fairness which would be particularly desirable.
@benzathine I enjoy republics or how about a meritocracy. No? Demockracy - let men enslave themselves.
Anarcho-communism? No? how about you enlighten yourself instead of say democracy is the only way, don't be a fool. Take the red pill and let your third eye see.
V is fiction, we can only save ourselves by standing together while we still have the freedom to do so. Join the TEA party April 15. Vote out all incumbants in 2010. Demand term limits for every elected office. Not a perfect cure, but a good start.

Saavykaas 1 year ago
@Saavykaas By your philosophy, books, poetry, the spoken word unrestrained is a dangerous thing and by nature of your contempt for it you worry that the average man does not retain the ability to choose between right and wrong.
Freedom works because in the midst of the chaos a direction of betterment, exploration, the constant pursuit of the unknown could by nature of it's rapid change and fundamental indifference for the status quo be a revolution. The American revolution never ended...

actually no, the speech is talking partly about having no freedom of speech. freedom isnt only in the us.
thegrimllama27 1 year ago
@bullpup33 and sadly the "last beacon of hope for mankind" would rather seemingly institutionalize totalitarian policies towards that same government or empire. This movie speaks against such a way and world that would do that. Your beacon of hope for mankind is on a bad path. I'm American too, we tread the same road. Our liberties are stolen and our morale value is dumbed down by our propaganda machine of news and other outlets of mass society. Sorry to write this though. Just think free.
cuznirvanarocks 1 year ago

And let's not forget the corruption in the government, and the massive national debt that we trust our government to pay off. Also, let's not forget the massive taxes we're forced to pay, and the fact that most of the people in Washington D.C. couldn't spend money straight to save their lives, let alone our country.
toradrow777 2 years ago
Communism and facism are kissing cousins...but both are more economic terms than government terms...you could technically have a democratic communistic or facist society. I think the point here is against authoritarianism, however it defines itself
neithan2000 2 years ago 19
You don't have a clue what communism is.
refuse2bAvictim 2 years ago
@neithan2000 Fascist and communist dictatorship can't be democratic. Long live the doctrine of totalitarianism !!
IVomitOnYourGod 9 months ago
@neithan2000 Complete rubbish. Fascism is not an economic doctrine, it is a racialist doctrine. Communists can work within a democrat framework, as they do in France and Italy, but fascism is incompatible with democracy. The whole point of fascism is so an "all seeing leader" emerges and dictates according to his will.....not for there to be any "democracy" or challenge to his will. Clearly you haven't ever studied politics.
ryanramsey 8 months ago 3
@ryanramsey Actually, you're both right.
Were Himmler and Beria really such polar opposites?
williamskidfears 7 months ago
@neithan2000 This is true of Communism, but not fascism.
Flectarn1 7 months ago
@neithan2000 Not entirely sure why people liked a comment that said you can have a 'democratic fascist society' when the very definition of fascism is a single party, totalitarian nation.
AjCassells 5 months ago
@AjCassells Not necessarily. Fascism has always ended up that way, but in theory, it is possible for an elected representative to be given a dictator's power and still work for the people. The problem is anyone willing to use such power isn't thinking of the country's interests in the first place.
Proof of the divide between concept and execution, I suppose. Absolute power corrupts absolutely.
patricksweeney2 4 months ago
@neithan2000
I'm not sure what communism is like... there was only socialism. Communism never came to pass, but as an idea, it's a humainstic idea
Aviak1453 4 months ago
@neithan2000 Democracy and Socialism/Communism/Fascism are utterly incompatible with each other. Even Leon Trotsky was forced to admit this in the late stages of his career.
TheManiacalSatanist6 3 months ago
Jeez Bored, calling Communism and Fascism "basically opposites" is ridiculous. Both are Authoritarian systems typically with a strong military to stifle opposition, and a statist streak in which they control means of production!
The biggest difference seems to be that whereas Communism owns the means of production, Fascism 'only' controls it. Check out where Mussolini started as a die hard Communist and where he ended up, dangling from a piano wire by his Fascist neck.
emspeed1 2 years ago 4
Well said!
malmswax 2 years ago
They are not perfect opposites, but to say they are one and the same is ridiculous. Most communists I have ever met abhor fascists because fascists take the side of the corporation. And you are mistaken if you think that the USSR or N Korea or China is what Marx had in mind.
Also there are libertarian/anarchic forms of communism or socialism. Where the idea is that all the workers and all society is the government and controls production.Of course you probably have no use for society either.;)
lazerbeam134 2 years ago
(4) True, there are forms of Libertarian/Anarchic Socialism. The property rights issues are hard to buy into (pun intended). Personally, I would prefer something closer to Minarchism. Coercion is better avoided wherever possible. Communism and Fascism are ultimitely, coercive systems.
emspeed1 2 years ago
(3) Countless books have been written on the failures of Marxism in the real world. The failures stem from a deeply flawed system. The "Communist Manifesto" ought to be held up as the blueprint for what not to do. As such, it is unworthy of debate, especially in a forum such as this.
emspeed1 2 years ago
Forum is in Rome, this is internet...and disagree...Marx's Manifesto is a blueprint what to do...but to do it you need people who are not leaders because they are power-hungry,but because they want the best for the people...someone like Caesar back in the day

Btw- Communism sucks.

You- Yes, we need

Me- If you feel a need to help, do so, in your own way. Don't tell me what I MUST do.
emspeed1 2 years ago
(12)
Me- The answers are, yes, the individual, and those that feel a need to do so (anyone with a heart, I suppose).
You- But people won't give, we have an obligation to help others! Keep them from starving, freezing, doing bad things to their bodies, make sure they get to work, regulate how much they can make, and what about
emspeed1 2 years ago
(11)
You- wait... Are you implying that everyone should be able to do as they please, as long as they do not coerce anyone else? But who would make sure they are doing what they want? Who would make sure the less fortunate are cared for?
Me- Hold on, breath, let me get a word in. First off, this is an extremely important time for you. You, my friend, have the opportunity to see what's outside your cell.
emspeed1 2 years ago
(10)
You- But that's not really Communism.
Me- Really?
You- Yes, Communism has never been truly implemented in any country.
Me- Hmm, Do you think that could be because you will never get that many people to agree on anything?
emspeed1 2 years ago

Sure, sure, eventually the poor saps that can't somehow escape will quit struggling, much as a rape victim would after being beaten senseless. And then begins the long slow trudge towards mediocrity, paranoia, and the inevitable realization that the original goal of a stateless society cannot be achieved without VOLUNTARY participation. Btw, no Statist position can be achieved without the threat of violence, unless it is VOLUNTARILY achieved.
emspeed1 2 years ago
(8)
Or, would Caesar, fearing that his "fellow proletarians" will see the grass is actually green on the other side of the fence (Caesar has been telling them it has always been brown and it's people that steal by producing for themselves that make it that way), put the Libertarians in work camps or mass graves? History tells us that as a rule, Caesar will kill the Libertarians.
emspeed1 2 years ago
(7)
Of course, if only we had a leader who wants what's best for people to create a stateless society. Jeez, if only I had thought of that. Let's examine your premise, shall we? How would your fictional leader (let's call him Caesar) deal with say, Libertarians? Would Caesar "allow" them to freely associate with others in their own non-coercive society?
emspeed1 2 years ago
(6)
But I have so much to say, and "left" statists (Communists), usually stick to their own videos, deleting any dissenting views as they appear. Which by the way only exposes your irrational position more. The "right" statists (fascists), do essentially the same thing, but with a racist overtone. So, when you do pop up, you should expect to get a mouthful. ; )
Let's get down to the Nitty Gritty.
emspeed1 2 years ago
I never deleted any comments from any of my videos...EVER....constructive criticism is fine....and what you are talking about 'stateless society'...thats anarchy, genius
Dalbert342 2 years ago
Communism- A final stage of society in Marxist theory in which the state has withered away and economic goods are distributed equitably.
Source: Merriam-Webster Dictionary
I know not what you've done or not done on your videos. Did not mean to implicate you specifically. Deletion has been the norm of conversation with "them" in the past. therefore those that actually do engage outside of their sphere tend to get the brunt of my ire. Runnin' long again, funny, in person I'm an introvert.
emspeed1 2 years ago
(2) Both Communism & Fascism are defined here by their inherent control of social & economic activity. Futhermore, both are essentially one party systems making them, Authoritarian. They certainly are not one and the same, didn't claim they were, but they have much in common. It matters little if it is a Corporation or a Government that is repressing the individual, the results are the same.
emspeed1 2 years ago
(1) Fascism- A system of government marked by centralization of authority under a dictator, stringent socioeconomic controls, suppression of the opposition through terror and censorship, and typically a policy of belligerent nationalism and racism.
Communism- A system of social organization in which all economic and social activity is controlled by a totalitarian state dominated by a single and self-perpetuating political party.

Have you?
