@dalzan So true! So many people I know get wacom tablets and can't figure out why they aren't the top artist in their state! The tablet is simply an extension of the artistic ability you already have. It's just another tool like a pencil or paintbrush. Once you've mastered those, then you can try your hand at a tablet.

I find that having a tablet makes drawing harder, because all of your resources are free and infinitely available. Sometimes, I just get distracted because of everything that I can do :P Also, why would a cyborg be smoking?

I agree with dalzan. I found it hard to draw lines with my tablet. maybe becaus i just have a small bamboo. a bigger more prof. tablet would help

but as far as coloring goes.. you gotta love photoshop and a tablet.

i think my artwork boosted when i discoverd digitalpainting.

and i discovered all sorts of technics wich i would have never learned if i'd stuck to traditional media.

I lol at fags who think digital drawing will somehow give you massive art skill because its not real paint. Digital art can be just as hard as paint. I mean, sure you have free paint pallets and easier blending, but you still need control, a good concept of what looks right, and a good concept for anatomy or objects and how they look or counteract with one another. just as you cant pick up a pen or brush and magically be good at art, you can't pick up a mouse or tablet and suddenly be good.

@fablan6 Either that, or people who don't believe digital art is art. I've met a lot of those guys. Claiming that the computer makes it too easy, there are certainly advantages to doing digital art over traditional, but you still need the skill.

Class this as digital, while it may be true that computers give you a good hand with the way you apply colour and lines, it is still a medium you need to practice with to master. @hiphopgurlere google wacom tablet. contrary to popular belief, it wont magically give you artistic abilities. If you cant draw with a pencil, you sure as hell will be lost with a tablet. Learn how to paint with real paint before investing in a tablet.

Sometimes it takes more to paint digitally because of this. Photoshop, for example, Is not "The easiest thing to use". There are SO MANY hidden things lying around in it and it takes a lot of creativity to use all the tools to paint something.

Just like in paint to canvas, using different tools. Same idea. Just one is on a screen and not on a canvas.
