Pit bulls have been given a bad rep. most people think their nothing but killers cause they've been used for fighting. wow great video. Ive been rescueing for 20 years The abuse and neglect my poor dogs have been through is awful. Its not an easy road but as im sure you know there is a love that only a pit can give and when you watch a dog bloom from the shell of abuse or neglect its well you know what im saying. I have a Red Nosed American Pitbull & he'd never hurt me or my family, we treat him like a king, but i dont blame ppl for being scared of them, coz pitbulls were bred to kill & hate any animal & to protect its family so it naturally hates strangers. You completely misunderstand the background of these dogs -- they were specifically bred NOT to be human-aggressive. In the old-time pit fights, a pitbull had to "break" his hold, no matter what, when ANY human tapped his back. Any that even turned and snarled at a human would never see a ring again. As farm dogs (their main other use), they were usually the farmer's housemate & "right-hand man." Someone has to really be a piece-of-shit owner, or breeder, to make him otherwise.

I own 2 American Staffy's who are closely related to pitbulls(actually under same registration). They are the most lovable, soft natured dogs. I also knew a full bred pitbull who was gentle, and in no way agressive, a 2 yr old girl could sit on him and pull his ears and he would just lay there wagging his tail.

We need to be punishing the other end of the leash, because the owners of these dogs are abusive towards them making them this way..

Keep your ears open. Walk your Pit by a construction site and see who asks you about it. And tell the animal warden or detectives, who just need to know who to follow sometimes.

He is scarred his spine curved & severe arthritis. BUT this is one of the most affectionate loving dogs I have ever had in my life. The other was a friends but she was moving and couldnt take him. From the age of 1-3 years old I had a mixed breed. She was always affectionate, never bit...until...some guy tried to take me, she almost took his arm...she was labeled as "viscious" and she protected me from a kidnapping. The neighbors had a problem with the battle to keep her. While we were away, they shot her with an arrow. I'll never forget coming home to her dying. Dog rescue can be one of the toughest things anyone can do. The emotional pain is brutal, seeing these dogs and then trying to find good "forever homes" for them. And you cannot take them all in, and have to look at those you leave in the shelter. It's awful at times, but you just have to look at the ones you save.

When it gets bad, just look at the ones you kept. They would have died lonely and afraid years ago, never having known love, but you gave them a long, happy life. Look at their faces and remember that. I guarantee you that they remember it, and thank you every day.
