  • Dreat job editing. Micheal Mann should see what good work you have done.

  • Very nice! Love the Jan Hammer music and you did an excellent job editing!! Gave me chills!

  • The movie itself wasn't all that bad. Yeah I know Ferrel was an iffy casting for Crockett. The main issue with the movie was it didn't have that 80's Miami Vice swagger that put it into a different class of shows, and the music was a big factor in that. Foxx did alright as Tubbs, a little different take but I was still feelin the flow. At the end of the day, its hard to fine someone as cool as Don effin Johnson

  • Man that was *HOT* great job!!!

  • Hope they make part 2!!!!!! GREAT MOVIE!!!

  • very well edited but for my taste, I loved the Jay-Z Linkin Park tune - it was baaaad ass in this movie!

  • idk.......doesnt fit the mood of the film. too up beat. thats just my opinion though. still a good job though,

  • @masterchief2556...dude, too bad you're way too young or weren't even born yet back in '84 when this theme came on TV every week. This song IS what Miami Vice was ALL ABOUT for most of the viewers. The song got your attention, the acting and the cars kept you engaged. Yeah, a re-mix would've definitely worked for this film...

P.S.- Read up on the song influence for A-500 by Klause Badelt. (Hint: Crockett's theme).

  • @Egoguitar1 will do. I love me some klaus badelt!

  • GREAT VIDEO/SOUNDTRACK

  • Nice job. However, the music doesn't suit this film. Music is too good for the film.

  • Nice job, but wouldn't have worked. The show was never about dwelling in the past, it was cutting edge, it would never have done something retro. Including the theme in the movie would have been totally inappropriate. By having everything new and cutting edge, it became the best tribute to the show that could have been. The inclusion of "In The Air Tonight" was enough of a nod, and was used to heighten the drama as it was in the series pilot and not just for old times sake.

  • @LightningChimp...you do realize the song A-500 is a nod to Crockett's theme? And the movie name "Miami Vice" is the biggest nod to the show yet. The original theme was way ahead of it's time, so a slightly remixed/updated version would've done well. Just my opinion. Great movie eitherway...

  • RIGHT ON.

  • lol this is way better than fuckin jayz and chester XD

  • No, sorry thats not how it should have been done, because it has been done as best as possible.

The movie sucked but the trailer, in my opinion, is the best movie trailer ever!

The trailer made me watch Miami Vice in the theatre in 2006 because it just rocks. The music fits the pictures so well the bass is sooooo low... I just love it

  • @Moeter28 I agree the trailer for the film is the best... Jay Z suits the modern remake... Jan Hammer belongs in the 80's sorry! good edit though

  • Dude,

Are you a film student? This is great work.

  • Why are you doing this? Does this look like a circus movie to you?

  • bought this on 45 vinyl back in the day

  • great video but transition from the 80's music to the current music. good job!

  • Interesting, but that song is very '80s. One of the problems with 80s music is its dated due to the overuse of techno synchs and drum machines.

  • Nice Job Sync'n that up.... Sounds good, Looks good and way better than the original! Good!

  • This movie DID suck ass.

    Redundant redundancy is redundantly redundant.

  • Very very well said. No doubt that this moive sux big time, Unlike the seasons cuz Miami Vice seasons ROX forever.

  • Voices man, Ross Ballard or whatever his name was, has to be the second most best musical break in the series.. with the speed boats? Either way, I would love a movie sequel..

  • even now, the episodes are better than the film.

  • no comparison..

  • @gloucesterharry very intersting comment; I never thought of it that way, you may be correct

  • I appreciate the nastalgia and a good job on syncing that up. But it just doesn't work in this era as it did in the 80s. I love both, by the way. I am biass when it comes to Michael Mann projects, anyway.

  • Dude, good job! the movie would have grossed another 50 million if they used that. I thought the movie was just ok, but you just throw in the old theme and i guarantee more fans would have shown up.

  • your right you know that is how it should have been done. end of story.

  • This movie completly sucks. Even the great Jan hammer theme can´t rescue that thing from being bullshit all the way.

  • you are gay and like poke e man and pogs

  • Yup. I agree. They also should have hired the original actors (Don Johnson should lose weight though). Better yet, Matthew McConoughey should have starred as Crockett (a Southerner). Collin Farrell's Irish thugspeak can still be heard in the movie.

  • your richt this movie sucks

  • I see. Ok. Look at "Thief", "Manhunter" and all of the original run of "Miami Vice" and even "Heat" to an extent.

Then look at "Collateral", "Miami Vice" (2006) and the upcoming "Public Enemies" and ask yourself... WHAT THE FUCK HAPPENED TO MICHAEL MANN?!

I personally to this day have no idea.

    He used to be somebody.

  • don't forget last of the mohicans, great film

  • Absolutely. That movie and "The Keep" are phenomenal.

"The Keep" in particular happens to be the very first Michael Mann film I ever saw. It is second only to "Thief" as far as his directorial work goes. In my opinion.

  • lol noooo!!

the movie and the show are just completely different, the only parts i think are the same is jsut the characters name. but other than that

they are tooo wayy different! i personally loved how they made the movie! and the show too. but they are really different, and i like that

  • Comment removed

  • cool movie

  • hell no..... u didnt even spell linkin park correctly...lol

    jan hammer theme owns

  • Hes retarded but Linkin Parks name was based of Lincoln Park

  • i agree this is a kickass theme

  • lol im a fan of the original and yes it should of been this theme song for the remake

  • excellent

  • Excellen work.

  • yea even jamie fox didnt want to finish the movie becaue he said the director had no direction and the story made no sense.how you gonna have one character dress like hes still in the 80s then the other like hes in a video today

  • ey man i would love to know where u got this info

LIke seriously thats funny jamie is aweosme

    I wanna know Please :)

  • He was gettin interviewed for his next movie after the vice movie flopped. I cant remember what show it was on. I think it was for that movie jarheads though, not sure. but i remember him sayin it. and i was like man this is a real ass dude right here for sayin that.exactly how i felt about it too.

  • This Re make was a cross between a 2 fast 2 furious film and a rap video of MTV. Nothing like the original film and nothing will come close. Miami Vice the tv series was great it had cool music great actors and a Ferrari Daytona. When will they learn you cant make the best better or change the past. So please no more re makes keep it real keep it 1980's

  • the tv series was great but this movie was also really good. THAT DOESN´T mean it was like the tv series. many people who know the tv series think the movie is bad.. but honestly if you wouldn´t know the tv series would you like the movie... I WOULD!!!

  • I liked botht he movie andthe series. they didnt remake Miami vice they just upgraded it for the 2000's. thats it. It was almost independent of the series and i liked that. You should always go forward. Never backward.

  • Cool ambient movie... worst actors ever...Collin "Fairwell"... come on...

  • yeah collin farrel sucks altought in miami vice he kinda fitted in the role... jamie fox was good!

  • agree, the casting was a bit off. usually like the guy that played castillo (liked him in collateral pretty well), but i dont think he was really right for castillo. and yea, ditto on colin. don johnson was so much better as crockett

  • Stole my words...

  • I think that the 2006's movie could have been a great action movie with Farrel and Foxx without being called "Miami Vice", because it has almost nothing to do with the original. I enjoyed the film but not as Vice remake. That, in my opinion, was a dumb idea by Michael Mann. The original classic should have remained untouched.

  • I agree, shouldn't have been a Vice remake.

I think it would be cool if it was a sequel to HEAT Somehow plot wise. And the soundtrack should be done by Harry Gregson-williams.

  • lol this sucks hahaha......

  • This doesn't work..sorry.

The 2006 version was more or less a modern version of the original. Meaning that the basic premise stayed that same (somewhat) but everything else was subject to the directors vision.

I mean just look at the trailer, its dark, moody and well....modern. Now listen to the original song that went with it, it showed the modern styles in music that had come through into the mainstream, Rap and Rock (yes I know LP aren't that good).

    Nostalgia doesn't always work.

  • ya this is this shit!!! why would they channge such a great thing?? we should we-do the hole thing plus i don't like the staff changes to you? they didn't keep true to the show

  • Interesting. I'd say less synth, but I like the To Live and Die in LA feel it had going.

  • nah!.. this trailer should've been done with the original "80's miami vice.. this is more for "gta - vice city".. are you kidding?

  • the jan hammer tune is CLASSIC , but that song is more suited for a clip of them crusin' along ocean drive or something...

    but not bad

  • this is shit, sorry

  • I only made it like 10 minutes into the movie before deleting it. It has nothing to do with Miami Vice. It's just the same old boring hollywood crap falsely named 'Miami Vice' to make money off of the classic TV series brand name.

  • If I knew nothing about the original tv show or anything about the actors in the motion picture, I would not be motivated to watch it.

But that's OK, cuz I DO know about all of that and still, by no fault of your own, I don't want to see it.

That doesn't matter though, because that was some good editing.

  • Surprisingly, they do indeed fit really well. I think the actual music also worked very nicely though, probably slightly better.

  • LOLOLOLOLOLOL

  • Song dont go with the trailer.

  • If you showed that to a production company/director, they would fire you. I felt like I was watching a trailer at the start of a VHS rental. It does not go together at all. That sound is simply outdated. This movie was completely new and was not meant to be a tribute to the 80's series.

  • thats like watching a cheap steven segal movie trailer .... poooor

  • Surprisingly, they are a PERFECT fit! I think it adds the extra energy that the film lacked, much due to the absence of Jan Hammer's music.

  • @JPilot2 And Colin Farrell's "acting".

  • Class act! Really good...

  • much better

  • this is a joke compared to the actual one.

  • THAT is what I call a trailer!!!! Not only is that what the trailer should've been, it's what the MOVIE should've been.

    NICE, my man, nice!

  • Nah. Music is too dated. I'd rather hear Jan Hammer then Jay-Z on it though.

  • that pile of shyte was never worthy of the original jan hammer soundtrack

  • definately better than the original..thats the biggest compliment huh:=)

  • It would have definitely worked if the movie didn't have such a dark tone. Just doesn't match, in my book.

  • that was awesome! Too bad the movie didnt live up to youre trailer.

  • GREAT JOB !!! The way it was was the way it should have been !!!

  • good job, but although the original is good, the newer version is awesome imo, much better..anyways, to each his own

  • very good job man...as an old fan of the series..

  • very good job man...as an old fan of the series..

  • To each his own. Liked both to certain degrees, nostalgic about ground breaking TV way back when. Theres only one sonny crockett though. And I don't even like Don J.

  • That song annoyed me to hell! Things should be serious in this vid, not this old, nongood music. Don't get me wrong, I do like "old" music as well.

  • Your editing rocked! Undiscovered talent, you are! Cool idea to go with original instrumental to draw in old school fans while showing the action cuts to the audience to get new people to watch it. Keep it up, send it to MCA, maybe they can include it in their Director's Cut DVD promos for overseas sales...

  • excellent idea and execution.

  • saw it tonight. Loving your trailer- good job.

  • The new version of Miami Vice with the music of the 80 series sucks... Each thing in their place, please...

    And sorry for my English...

  • ummm no Numb/Encore was a VERY good choice

  • Micheal mann needs you to post his next trailer.Any body got mann's e-mail?

  • old folks never accept new stuffs

  • Fuck the movie, worst piece of shit I ever sat thought. The 80's rocked, and the original MV kicks ass!!

  • very good? dont tell me u cut that in windows movie maker

  • The movie was a cut and paste job done in Windows Movie Maker but the sound was done in Audacity (Freeware available from audacity.sourceforge.net for anyone who doesn't know)

  • Beside this Linkin Park rulez! x3

  • well done! i wonder why they didn't use yan hammer's original score??

  • its too 80's

  • jan hammer sucks

  • Very cool. I like this one.
