is this before Ed learned who Blake really was? I think so because it was in late 1988, I think, that Blake took her pill overdose and Ed and company pumped her stomach and he found out her birth name...then Holly arrived in town.
Yuck Hawk & Sarah. They were too much for me. Real cornball. The writers strike was in 1988. From what I recall, Blake's return to Springfield occurred during the strike, as well as the Sonni/Solita storyline.
One scene always sticks in my head. There was a GL episode where Sarah (Audrey Peters) shared an episode with Ron Tomme. Both of them were from Love of Life.. I believe he played Mr. McClaren....Rose Mcclaren's dad in an episode. Audrey Peters of course played Sarah Shayne, mother of Rusty Shayne.. Rose Mcclaren and Rusty shared a storyline. Wouldn't that episode be something to see? I think it was an episode from 1989.
oh wow, I loved Hawk and Sarah's down-home contrast to the sophisticates that surrounded them. They remained Oklahoman like H.B and Billy...retaining their southern drawl. Reva lost her accent at some point and Josh really never had a southern drawl.
This must have been from a time in the past when I wasn't watching the show, a few months in the fall of 1988, I busy helping some candidates running for offices at the time (it was an election year). Anyway, notice how disjointed the stories seem to be, this is the time of the writers strike isn't it?

I thought Sarah had a lot of class. I hated when they killed her off.
