haha! I was watching a random video on YouTube and this song (Rick Astley) came on in the background and i knew I'd heard it from somewhere, and then remembered this demo from my childhood, about 15 years ago! When i get back to my parents house i'm going to raid the attic in the hope of finding this beauty so that I can play on the weird and wonderful sound effects like I did back in the good old days :)
@Bossmanrocks good question. i haven't bothered looking for one -- i bought some D (i think?) batteries and i've been using it for a year without issue.
@Bossmanrocks yes as long as the the adapter is within the keyboards volt limit and has the right polarity it'll work. you should be able to find that information on the keyboard somewhere.
When I was a teenager I had a few friends who overdubbed porno vhs tapes for comedic effect and they always used the Casio's "Together Forever" demo song to score the money shot.
I found one of those in a dumpster, covered in snow. After I let it dry, I put some batteries in it, turned it on, and it actually worked! I ended up giving it away (I've got a Yamaha 9000pro and Yamaha MO6 synth, so I didn't really need it).
@sssummer hey, i just found one of these in my basement. is there a power outlet for it or does it run on batteries cause i can't really find anything on the back that shows signs of batteries or outlet
@egforevervlad i use batteries in mine, but i know it takes a 9V adapter. i used to have one, but there was a bad connection so the power would always short out. the batteries work just fine. if you look on the back of the keyboard above the model name, you should see the input for both headphones & power. batteries are behind where it says "pulse code modulation".
The CA-100 was my first keyboard too. My teacher hated it with a passion b/c of the lousy sounds, the limited size, and the lack of a sustain pedal jack. The only thing we liked about this keyboard was the Demo song - I'm going to remember it 'till my last days. My parents still have it, and it works pretty well considering how old it is, what it's gone through, and it being no more than a fancy toy...
An ode to all CA-100s! I have one too. My Dad gave it to me when I moved out of the house. We've had it since it came out... It's one of my most precious belongings.
my cousin got that keyboard for her birthday when it just came out. i was about 6-7 and kept pressing on the demo button, thought it was awesome.. i hadnt heard this song since then (almost 20 years ago) but i still remember it completely by heart.. crazy.. didnt even know it was a real song either
hahahah i found that keyboard at my grandparents house like 8 years ago and i loved that demo song on it, not knowing untill now it was an actual song... hahah
I'm so glad I JUST posted it three days ago, then! Ha. Prior to the advent of Rickrolling, I used to think (and sometimes still do) that all of his songs are the same song.
are you married?

I can't find a power adapter for this product. Can any 9-Volt AC adapter be used?
