God is like a scientist. There have been other experiments, we are just another improved version. When God make its adjustments, we will cease to exist.
Chilling concept, but it is such fuel for a writer's nature. That planetary nebula-ghost shroud is very haunting. Seeing it up close would stay with you forever. Imagine an Issac Asimov rocket ship trying to outrace the end and taking a journey through a universe filled with these shrouds of former galaxies and solar systems. It would be like walking through a graveyard on a foggy night.
Interesting vid, but ultimately speculation. If we don't know what dark matter/energy is, then we can't possibly know all of its properties. It might continue to pull the universe apart, or it might be a cyclic thing that reverses into a big crunch. It's hard to know what will happen to the universe when we don't even know what a majority of the universe IS.
It's interesting to note that the scene from 1:05 to 1:15 is impossible because every last manmade construction will have long collapsed and fallen into complete ruin after just 300 or so years (not enough time for the glaciers to roll in) and be long buried after 1,000, at which point they would (except for a few exceptions like the pyramids and the faces on Mt. Rushmore) be completely invisible to everything except for dedicated archaeological excavation...
Yes, as many have, I have had experiences of God. You are free to laugh. I find it more humorous that people believe what they have no evidence for. I think it is reasonable to not know or believe one way or the other. :)
@neo1az Do you beleive that you could have had more contradictions in your postulates, if you tried? First off; I quote YOU: "I find it more humorous that people believe what they have no evidence for." - Go ahead, present to me the evidence of God. Second of all, don't look down at people that beleive there is no God, when you say it's reasonable to not know or beleive one way or the other. Why not pick the logical not-knowing-beleif?
@Sawkawraw As I define the term, agnostic is not knowing one way or another. There is nothing wrong with this. Atheism and theism are both belief systems. They are personal. To believe that God does not exist is a belief based on nothing. I, and many others, have had the perception or experience of God. Based on these perceptions/experiences, I believe. I was agnostic before that. Have a good day. :)
@neo1az You say you experienced God? Why should we take your word for it? None of us know you, and so far, there is no definitive proof that He would exist. Yet science has proven all this stuff about the universe, our origins, and our future. The Bible says God created one man, then one woman, but no dinosaurs. It says the Earth is much younger than it really is, and it has been rewritten multiple times through out history. Religion is nothing but a weapon, those who are at the helm control it.
@Waroftheworlds112 your black/white view of religion is really unfortunate. Why do believers carry the burden of proving God's existence? We cant. You also can't prove He doesn't exist, so why are we unable to just agree to disagree? Reason and faith are two entirely distinct concepts. One isn't better or more advanced than the other, its people that use their reason and their faith to do both wonderful and terrible things. *steps off soapbox*
@brohan914 Really? Reason has given us all of these cures to various viruses and diseases. Reason has given us advanced technology. What has faith given us? If we followed faith, then we wouldn't have these computers or cures. I believe in a God, just not your God, and not christianity. Religion is in fact a weapon. I only want peace and prosperity for everyone.
@Waroftheworlds112 I also want peace, prosperity and freedom of religion also, but since when is advanced technology an inherently good thing? reason has given us the atomic bomb and nerve gas as well as the cure for polio. it not an inherently good or bad thing. on the other side, faith has caused the crusades and islamic radicalism, but it has also given us art, culture, and a moral code of behavior. people are what determine the positive or negative impact of faith and reason.
The belief that there is no God cannot be supported. I have had experiences of God and therefore believe in God. The big rip may represent the end of the illusion. :)
I think we can honestly give our own thoughts and opinions. We cannot speak for everyone. I think it is fair to say that you do not take it seriously. :)
But thought on life is weird that sine how are physical bodies may die but are existence will always be here and maybe will find a new physical body. But by existence i mean everything were all connected were all one. But when we go
to a physical body we become a individual
in a way but still are apart of existence but kinda separate. But if this is true then well existence wont exist. So..damn theres like no mercy in this fucked up universe
In the movie terminator 2, the terminator dies and melt at the end. When you put the same movie at the beginning, he is still alive. Its the same with reality. When god press play, time exists end there will be an end. But all can be rewinded. And restart all over again. Also copied etc. Multiverse FTW
Can you guy's imagine it? All atom's Destroyed. No controlled energy, and no time, I don't know about you guy's but my mind goes dead blank if i think about that...
2 theories are the most superior the Heat death of the universe(if the universe is a isolated system)and the big rip.The big crush is a theory too but rejected from most scientist!
Let's take a simple tree which lives 1 year. Born during Spring , living through Summer - good side of life , and Autumn - the bad side. And once winter comes Life ends. Spring comes and a new tree is born. It's the same with the universe only much longer.
Yep, that's pretty much my view of it anyway :P No problem :) And yeah, when you really think about it, it makes you feel really tiny... Sometimes even hopeless, yet amazed at the same time :P
I suggest you search "Hubble Telescope Most Important Image Ever Seen" If you really want to see how small we are ;)
Well, there a couple possibilities I like to think about. Some people believe that there are an infinite number of universes aside one another, aligned like squares on a quilt.
I however, believe that outside our universe, there is nothing. Pure blackness, or maybe whiteness.
Actually, the universe is not infinite, therefore has a beginning AND an end. It's been proven that the universe is still expanding, like a very, very large balloon.
If you could travel billions and billions of times the speed of light, you would essentially be able to reach the end of existence, and effectively see the outside of our so called "Balloon".
The puzzling thing is why the universe has not expanded at a constant rate in the past. This "dark energy" is being used as a speculative explanation for the increasing rate of expansion. What will the rate of expansion be in a few billion years? Also, will the "scale factor" ever approach infinity, to the extent that the dark energy will rip apart atoms? My guess is that the universe will die, but it will die a boring death, when everything just cools down like a left-over barbecue charcoal.
Im sorry for the minute texts but I get it now. Earth will be destoryed by Sun (Heat) becasue we have all these thories about God destrorying Earth with Heat, then the other theorys that the Earth will be destored by heat rays. Either or We know that the Earth wil be gone by heat. The main thing is which the universe expanding to possibly create a new universe.
Thats crazy beacause I only thing Earth would be wiped out soon, but now I know about the whole Big Rip and know that its not only Earth its everything.
I agree with tterrajsirhc we cant and its hard for us to go to a different gallaxey when our planet doest match anything. And to be honest our rate is slow to figuring things out.
Ok so after the big rip. I wonder what happens. And what happens with what I created the big bang for us to be here in the first place. I guess my question is what is going to happen to the creater that created us?
scientist say that to escape we have to create a warp hole to a different universe but how are we going to do that when other universes have different physical properties then we do. We would be ripped apart anyway,we are traped in this universe by our components...... it truely is the end
wormholes cant be traveled and maybe dont even exist, and the chance that there is another universe is very unlikely and there is no prove what so ever that they exist.
Well wisdom has its way of perserving itself so i doubt it will be the end of life and all things within the universe.Could be a new beginning for the wise.
This is all in the thought of there being a single universe, a single big bang. The multiverse theory is that there are multiple universes out there. All with their own big bangs. We also just found out about Dark Matter and Dark Energy, what else is out there do we not know? Is there something else that will counter this theory? Something that will overcome Dark Energy, or will Dark Energy wear itself out, and gravity will reign supreme again, with a big crunch?
It is known by the law of thermophysics over 150 years that this inavoidable . Dark Energy is the mayority amount of total energy of our universe invisible to find to our instruments but its everywhere its the property of universe and one of the cause of existence current space frame. All the matter will eventually (atoms/quarks will lose their forces and split) transform to energy and it will expand eternally until some unknown force will come to play then.
or it is likely that gravity since its more will overcome dark energy, the acceleration of expansion will stop and reverse, and the universe will contract to a big crunch and re-bang, or it may achieve a heat death, dont be that pissimistic :D these are theories that need yet to be proven, maybe cern will help
When the atoms all get ripped apart to quarks and they get ripped apart, and everything is so spread out, nothing is happening. Matter does not exist anymore, No events happening - Time STOPS.
I have this on my ipod. this episode... i don't understand... how can there posibly be no space or color or time!?! No matter what, if somethi9ng is clear, there is always a color behind it.. I am so confused!!!!
its my understanding dark matter plays a role in maintaining the structure of physical matter in the universe such as galaxies, about 22% of the universes energy density is composed of dark matter, with 74% composed of dark energy. It's believed dark energy would need to be a negative pressure in order to explain the expansion of the universe, As the universe expands the density of dark matter decreases and dark energy becomes greater and accelerates this expansion. This will cause galaxies to
pull away from one another, then everything else under gravitational forces. Eventually the force of dark energy becomes stronger than all other forces such as gravitational and electromagnetic forces. Pulling planets and stars apart and the atoms that form them. I've only been reading up on this stuff for a little while though
So you beleive in the theory of a coasting universe? that we just keep floating away? Becuase in this case we would eventually all just freeze to death because all stars and galaxies would slowly drift apart.
If you look at a shadow of a tesseract rotating around a plane in 4D, it kinda seems like the big rip is gonna lead to a big bounce, the inner cube is formed by the outer cube contracting and the outer cube is formed by the inner cube expanding
Actually immortality exists (not among humans). there is a type of Jellyfish then when it reaches adulthood can transform back to its poolp stage (childhood stage) and therefore live its all life again and this cycle can continue on and on and this renders this jellyfish immortal.
haha thats true, but regardless of immortality, we will still get burned up by the Sun as it becomes a red giant, that is unless we figure out a way to leave this planet and head to a new solar system.
Maybe the big rip will act as a new type of big bang, bringing new forces with it creating a new type of universe... Until it gets overwhelmed by a new force, ripping through everything it has brought... etcetera.. Maybe the "big bang" did do exactly that to a previously existing universe consisting of different forces... And so on and on and on.
the problem with that, causing a Big bang, is that the energy and whatever is left in the universe is no longer affected by gravity, you are thinking of the big Crunch, where gravity overpowers the dark energy and pulls it all back in, that, would cause a big bang.
No, I'm not saying that gravity will take over.. I'm saying that this dark energy might bring a new, currently unknown (as dark energy itself is a big unknown) set of physics that spawn an entirely different era for the universe, until that one gets overwhelmed by another force, ripping it apart, and so on... Just ideas and theories ofcourse...
I think that we have to remember that science limits itself to what can be observed directly or indirectly through the five senses. It deals with the "physical" universe. Consciousness and thought are beyond its scope at present, perhaps forever. If the universe is actually consciousness and thought then there may be so much more than what science reveals.
Some people think there are an infinite amount of universes...There are many theoroes about the subject. There is little proof that any of these theories are true.
Here's a scary thought: if the big rip causes every atom in the universe to be ripped apart, all it would leave behind is blackness, right? Well, with time...all existence in all universes would become nothing but blackness. Reality would consist of nothing but infinite blackness...No life, no nothing.
it sucks that teachers and proffessors cant explain thereys such as the big bang or evoulution or the big rip because of faiths....but ill admit its quite intresting
no like say of i was a proffessor and told my student that GOD didnt created the earth but it was all evoulution well that would be considered a "federal crime" and id be fired
haha scary in a way but i do beleive if we dont go to a different place after this life. we are not the only universe.there is others. home to other billions of souls and spirits . lifes and deaths. possibly all an illusion of time and space
it is scary in a way but this is so far in the future...i have had glimpses of another world in my spiritual experiences...i believe the physical/energy world of space/time is an illusion over the truth :)
The one correction, or suggestion, I would make to THC is that saying the big rip will happen many billions of years from now is a vast understatement. Even saying trillions would not do it justice. The amount of time until this allegedly happens is unfathomable.
This is only a theory. There are many theories like this such as "The Big Crunch". No one really knows what will happen. I'm really into astronomy so I have my own theories, and I don't think "The Big Rip" is right.
"and if you look over here you will see what is believed to be the FIRST YouTube video. this video dates back BILLIONS of years...."
these are the words that will be heard in a billion years. The history books or vids will teach of the Great YouTubian Empire. The internet will be like our paintings on a cave wall. but still the question will remain...what is outside the universe? is there more darkness? is our universe part of a multiverse, just as a galaxy is part of the universe itself?
i found this so interesting as i did not know that the universe is expanding at an accelerating rate...it will be interesting to learn what is causing this...it would be great to be friends and talk about it :)
in the macrocosmic timeframe put forward my belief is humanity will have transcended in some manner. no reason for anyone to feel disheartened. the 40+ billion years that this would take make it probable that our perception and/or universe will have changed many times over. i side with douglas adams, that guy knows his universe. :P
In this world everything dies including the universe itself. All of these bodies that we identify with will be gone long before then. Who are you? Is there more to you than the physical?

Actually immortality exists (not among humans). there is a type of Jellyfish then when it reaches adulthood can transform back to its poolp stage (childhood stage) and therefore live its all life again and this cycle can continue on and on and this renders this jellyfish immortal.
kdshfksdjgf 3 years ago
but jellyfish don't matter if they can be immortal or not, they just float around, sting stuff, and eat. No thoughts or anything
NinjaParakeet 3 years ago
haha thats true, but regardless of immortality, we will still get burned up by the Sun as it becomes a red giant, that is unless we figure out a way to leave this planet and head to a new solar system.

PuppetXeno 3 years ago
the problem with that, causing a Big bang, is that the energy and whatever is left in the universe is no longer affected by gravity, you are thinking of the big Crunch, where gravity overpowers the dark energy and pulls it all back in, that, would cause a big bang.
homesliceaz 3 years ago
No, I'm not saying that gravity will take over.. I'm saying that this dark energy might bring a new, currently unknown (as dark energy itself is a big unknown) set of physics that spawn an entirely different era for the universe, until that one gets overwhelmed by another force, ripping it apart, and so on... Just ideas and theories ofcourse...
PuppetXeno 3 years ago
Nothing is outside. The universe is everything that exists. It will be just "nothing" there!
Hard to explain what I meant by nothing but just..no reality there..
Tinyblade109 3 years ago
I think that we have to remember that science limits itself to what can be observed directly or indirectly through the five senses. It deals with the "physical" universe. Consciousness and thought are beyond its scope at present, perhaps forever. If the universe is actually consciousness and thought then there may be so much more than what science reveals.
neo1az 2 years ago
Some people think there are an infinite amount of universes...There are many theoroes about the subject. There is little proof that any of these theories are true.
Here's a scary thought: if the big rip causes every atom in the universe to be ripped apart, all it would leave behind is blackness, right? Well, with time...all existence in all universes would become nothing but blackness. Reality would consist of nothing but infinite blackness...No life, no nothing.

So existence temporary? but than again "we are but a thought"

not a stupid comment...i don't know
neo1az 3 years ago
Lol I don't know what to think of a thing that will happen in like 20 billions years....
lordhalo1605 3 years ago
interesting but i am not going to waste much time thinking about what might happen this far in the future...lol :)
neo1az 3 years ago
but why worry wat happens wen we wont be there.....i mean we no one in this era will be there i mean no one can live for 20 billion years
unknownskater121 3 years ago
i expect to be around in 20 billion years...not in this form...if time still exists :)
neo1az 3 years ago
it sucks that teachers and proffessors cant explain thereys such as the big bang or evoulution or the big rip because of faiths....but ill admit its quite intresting
unknownskater121 3 years ago
teachers cant teach science??
neo1az 3 years ago
no just evoulution and other theorys that go against religion...but its just so intresting that i just had to look into out of my schools community
unknownskater121 3 years ago
thats strange that schools cant teach evolution...i do not see a conflict between evolution and religion...its not an either/or question :)
neo1az 3 years ago
no like say of i was a proffessor and told my student that GOD didnt created the earth but it was all evoulution well that would be considered a "federal crime" and id be fired
unknownskater121 3 years ago
evolution could simply be God's way...with intervention :)
neo1az 3 years ago
wow i acually never thaught of that....your good my friend =]
unknownskater121 3 years ago
thanks...hope it helps :)
neo1az 3 years ago
professors can in college, I am learning all about these theories and their explanations in my astronomy course
homesliceaz 3 years ago
ahhhh well im in middle school so i really didnt know about many college courses on it...but you said theories i meant like a fact
unknownskater121 3 years ago
Well the majority of astronomy is theory, we can't actually know all of this stuff, its just theories we make based on the given evidence
homesliceaz 3 years ago
haha scary in a way but i do beleive if we dont go to a different place after this life. we are not the only universe.there is others. home to other billions of souls and spirits . lifes and deaths. possibly all an illusion of time and space
xerolalala 3 years ago
it is scary in a way but this is so far in the future...i have had glimpses of another world in my spiritual experiences...i believe the physical/energy world of space/time is an illusion over the truth :)
neo1az 3 years ago
yes i think spritual energy is what exists. I dont beleive in this anyway.
xerolalala 3 years ago
you dont believe in this theory? i believe the illusion of the physical world will eventually fade :)
neo1az 3 years ago
its very possible. but i dont think the big rip is what will happen.
xerolalala 3 years ago
hard to say...its a theory at this point i think :)
neo1az 3 years ago
The one correction, or suggestion, I would make to THC is that saying the big rip will happen many billions of years from now is a vast understatement. Even saying trillions would not do it justice. The amount of time until this allegedly happens is unfathomable.
rmmetzler 3 years ago
interesting...i dont know :)
neo1az 3 years ago
so much we do not know...lol
neo1az 3 years ago
it is...i only learned of this recently :)
neo1az 3 years ago
This is only a theory. There are many theories like this such as "The Big Crunch". No one really knows what will happen. I'm really into astronomy so I have my own theories, and I don't think "The Big Rip" is right.
Jeffieboi 3 years ago
I'm curious, why do you think "The Big Rip" is incorrect? What are your theories?
neo1az 3 years ago
"and if you look over here you will see what is believed to be the FIRST YouTube video. this video dates back BILLIONS of years...."
these are the words that will be heard in a billion years. The history books or vids will teach of the Great YouTubian Empire. The internet will be like our paintings on a cave wall. but still the question will remain...what is outside the universe? is there more darkness? is our universe part of a multiverse, just as a galaxy is part of the universe itself?
shadowaura2004 3 years ago
Or, is there an eternal spiritual world much lovely than this physical world?
neo1az 3 years ago
well i dont really care what happens to the universe ill be dead before any of this happens lol.
xplosion43 3 years ago
What if death is an illusion?
neo1az 3 years ago
that would be horrible...id rather be dead than be around at the big rip...people planets galaxys all dispersing into dust and nothing...
scorpmk 3 years ago
i believe there is so much more than the physical world :)
neo1az 3 years ago
so correct. you my friend are so right with your comments. I would enjoy to further this talk and be friends. ^_^
xerolalala 3 years ago
i found this so interesting as i did not know that the universe is expanding at an accelerating rate...it will be interesting to learn what is causing this...it would be great to be friends and talk about it :)
neo1az 3 years ago
in the macrocosmic timeframe put forward my belief is humanity will have transcended in some manner. no reason for anyone to feel disheartened. the 40+ billion years that this would take make it probable that our perception and/or universe will have changed many times over. i side with douglas adams, that guy knows his universe. :P
rbellev 3 years ago
I think we make this world. It is an illusion cast over reality.
neo1az 3 years ago
This make me feel sad, es muy triste, everything will be destroyed by the dark energy
axedrecista 3 years ago
This is only physical matter. Our spirits are eternal. Don't be sad. There is so much more.

In this world everything dies including the universe itself. All of these bodies that we identify with will be gone long before then. Who are you? Is there more to you than the physical?
neo1az 3 years ago
So people, don't worry, in the end nothing really matters..
SunriseSucks 3 years ago
i think it matters but there is so much more than the physical universe :)
