this is coming in mighty handy - thank you sooo much :) by the way, the pick up switch on my cheap Mexican strat is silent also - i never considered myself lucky in that department, but if you insist most of them clunk from pick up to pick up.. then i'll count my blessings :)
yo take three, just completed that solo i been working on for months lol, is my first solo to play on electric tho, hey anyways thanks for the tutorial , mine is a different version with a lil improv, but your tutorial helped out alot , keep it up tony dude :) great job
Man... Your Really good, This is note for note perfection. If I only had an Electric guitar rather than acoustic, Id study this song, until I could play it this good. ITs my All Time Favorite Song!
Dear Threetake! you have the best best!!!!!!!!! cover of pink floyd, I know cause I know..and dont worry about thomas or etc they are saying, I have seen al of you tube and I know..this is the most melodious and played with feeling and deapth...AS I have asked before also, would you care to answer what gear you are using? will a POD XT help..I want to learn and play this..Thanks!! is the most beautiful cover..why dont you play sorrow and other covers also and teach!!!LOL
@xorgevaldivia..... No man you took me wrong. I am not showing off I am just asking whether that guitar is good for playing or not as I don't even know that. So that is why seeking some help.
I am totally new to all this and just bought Fender Squire, Affinity, Stratocaster Electric Guitar.
Can anyone help me why I can't managed to produce even a little bit of same tone as he's producing. Is it something to do with guitar's tuning or what??
@omermansur dude trying to show off saying u just bought a squire aint gonna get u anywhere, squires are shitty ass guitars anyways. just keep playing and if you practice enough everything will fall into place on its own.
@omermansur buy an emg dg 20 set its around 300 its the pickup configuration installed in a pickguard that he uses in the pulse era in his red stratocaster and use ghs David Gilmour signature set or fender custom shop pickups 54's,69's or texas specials or semour duncans ssl 1 sets for 170 on average just changing your pickups can really help with the sound quality and buy a sound modulator like a pod xt from line six you have all the basic distortions modulations and delays inside.Hope it helps
Thanks Tony, that was very helpful. Well, the reason you have more hits is because you make the effort to teach, and most of the visitors are looking for lessons. If i just had to watch someone play , i'd much rather watch Gilmour play than some freaking Thomas Crane.
@Tony, its also the fact that you make an effort to teach , and the hits are often people trying to learn how to play. If i had to just watch somebody play, i wouldn't go to some freaking Thomas Crane's video, i'd much rather watch Gilmour himself play.
I am going to be a bit of a hypocrite here. I can not stand how much people bash each other on Youtube. We all have an opinion and sadly some people don't know when it is or is not an appropriate time to say something. That being said I mean this in the friendliest of recommendations. I think you are a very good player and teach very organized yet casual. My only advice to you is that I feel your attack (bite) is too much. Possibly the pickups are set too high. Just friendly advice. Cheers!
I love the way you teach on this video. Not patronising (e.g. first finger on 5th fret on 4th string and second finger on 3rd fret on 3rd strings, etc.) nor overly complex. It's like having a real teacher. You start off with the regular speed, then slowed it down to show how each note is picked and then repeat each phrase several times until the student can play along with you in real time. Fantastic. Wish other tutors were more like you.
excellent work tony, first rate job and i looked at thomas cranes version and would still rather yours, any chance of you doin the same with the 2nd and 3rd solo's.tanx again..

Hi Im not wonting to sound stupid its just how the fuckn hell do you get 49000 hits and the likes of Thomas Crane gets only hundreds go look if Im wrong I will apologies.
@ThreeTakeTony lol that's funny. i went and checked this thomas crane out and though i think you did a much better job on the coming back to life intro i have to ask you to check out his comfortably numb cover. I think you might have to give credit where credit is due as far as that cover goes anyway. but you're still my fav lol. take care tony, we'll see ya again brother.
Man I have recently rediscovered this song and as bmxs5 just wrote, man, you made my day... not only you have the skills to pull it off in Gilmour fashion but you had the patience to teach us how to play like yourself, hence like Dave. Kudos and all my respect, thanks!
Very nice. I love this solo and there are some really tricky parts that I need to push myself to get into it. By the way I couldn't download the files, if there's somewhere else you can put them or send me through e-mail, will be much appreciated.
Sweet dude, that guitar sounds exactly like Davids. I didn't even know you could get Gilmour pickups.Your'e right about other Strats, mine pops all over the place when switching pups.
Equipment: Guitars: 1. Fender MiM Strat with David Gilmour pickups. I switched the Pearl pickguard with a Black one. 2. Epiphone SG with Tony Iommi pickup. 3. Cheapo Bass 4. Yamaha Acoustic Misc: 1. PodXT Amps: 1. Fender Blues JR. The one with only a Volume and Tone control. 2. Fender Blues JR Tweed. This one has 3 tone controls and a reverb. 3. Fender 15G, great practice amps. I have 2 of them for a stereo sound.

About Thomas Crane. He does a fine job at playing. I'd even say he's better than me. So why do I get more page hits?
I learned this when I was making webpages a long time ago. Using keywords to help people find your site is very important.
The difference in keywords between Thomas's and my pages are I offer lessons, backing tracks and guitar tabs for free.

I'm glad you caught that. I fixed it so you can download the tab with sections A through G. Check for the link on the right.
And Thanks for checking out my videos. I'm always learning songs and I will share them with you.
