I remember on the Island record version there was a "fade in". Its to bad the remastered version didn't reproduce it. Maybe the "remasterers" thought it would be too much along with the paw paw negro blow torch "fade in". Stil love master eno!!
The avant-garde concept of the sound was something that was highly considered into the pop-rock realm music. Today, you have computers and all of digital devices, but creativity is cero, many people into music use them in a manner such as condoms: do it and throw everything to the garbage. It's not the way and that's the reason for reamaining all of this old music still on.
This remastered version does sound more compressed. I remember the guitars blasting over the vocal, and now they're definitely lower in the mix making the whole song a bit smoother (which is not necessarily bad).
I've had his stuff for 25 years now. If I wrote and sang this, people would throw tomatoes at me. I just don't get what's supposed to be so great about his pop stuff. I think it's crap. Especially this lousy song. This and "King's Lead Hat". Ugh.
But you didn't write or sing this. And people would still throw tomatoes at Eno, people who farm enough tomatoes to waste them are most likely farmers...and they aren't a breed that enjoys Eno.
@ZJProz why ? you know the song title is an ancient figure of speech, I think it was first used in the bible about a rich man who tried to bring all his gold with him into heaven and the angels told him no, and so they used the gold to pave the streets of heaven...sorry if that makes you dislike the title even more now!
@ZJProz Why? The song title is from an ancient saying, "It's harder for a rich man to get into heaven than it is for a camel to crawl through the eye of a needle". Its from the bible, hope you don't dislike it even more now. hahaha!
Eno never authorized remaster on he's albums, dont understand how did he or who decided to do this resmaster but i still preffer the original version. I think u can ear sound more clear its true, but there is a lack of bass sounds and everything is so harmonized that it sucks
Why ask why?
