i like the oldschool punk music though forgot to mention one of my fav bands is anti nowhere league, i jjust hate most of the new punk like i said most of it it is pop punik not hardcore, i used to listen to good charlott then i started to listen to the old dudeds, then i started thinking like wow good charlott are a bunch of whiny pussies compared to the old school punk rockers, fuck new punk music rancid isone of the better ones though

Ya man I'm trying to start a punk band too. I play guitar and I just recently bought a bass cus I wanna learn both. My main problem is that my two buddies who can play guitar (I know we all only play guitar, but I am learning bass quickly) listen to alot more metal. But even if I had to play in a metal/punk band I wouldnt really give a shit, I'm more just discusted by the way music is heading. All the drummers I know live pretty far away thats another problem but w/e. Good luck to your band dude

i did what your doing but the other way around, i was a bassist first, about 6 years ago, then 4 years ago i started playing guitar. Bass is a much better instrument when you get both to a high level. its a shame we don't live nearby, i'd well enjoy a punk band for a change.
