  • u didnt use the right toner.. noob.

  • FFS fix that loud crap music at the end... or speak louder ! Almost blew my ears off !

  • are you sure it was micr laser jet toner

  • HAHAHA! You put the warning a bit too late!

  • Thanks to the warning....

  • I bought magnets the same size as those. You need to hold the fluid about 1 centimeter away from the magnet and you need MICR toner. Yes, it is expensive, I spent 80 dollars for 80 ml. Although, it worked fine for me, and I got an A+ with 10 extra credit points because I made a homopolar motor too. It must not be the right toner. But remember to hold it about a centimeter away, if I put the magnet right up to it I just get a blob.

  • you need a specific rare earth magnets. Neodymium.

  • do electrical magnets work??

  • @lolomg31 if they are strong enough...then sure! Electrical magnets create a magnetic field just as a regular magnet does. The only thing to watch for is if it is set up for AC instead of DC.....in that case you will have a constantly fluxing magnetic feild.....which actually might make for interesting results........or it might just spray ferrofluid around the room....I dunno! I suppose also if the DC was pulsed U could get an effect that might be similar to ac.

  • did you use"Rare Earth Magnets"? Thats what he says to use in the video.

  • @TitanicMasta Yes, I have covered this in the comments. I used rare earth magnets, but mine were smaller than his.

  • you probably bought a crappy magnet. try to get neodymium magnets.

  • I didn't say in the video, but I covered it in the comments. The ones I was using were neodymium, but if you compare the size of the ones I used to Traveler's, his are larger ones. So it was either the wrong toner or my magnets were too small to put out the magnetic field needed. Heck, it could be both...

  • Nice :D

  • you need a stronger magnet

  • Yeah, from what people have said and from what I noticed watching the video again, his are larger magnets. We have the same kind, it's just that the diameter of his are at least twice that of mine, which is a much larger volume.

  • credit music loud enough for ya?

  • Good job...

  • Your video is misleading, I am quite sure that the magnets you are using are insufficient.

  • JESUS CHRIST the end fucking blew my eardrums asshole!

  • There is a mute button I'm sure you know where it is.

  • I think you need some anger management. and yes if you paid attention he does have a tag at the top right of the screen that warns you of the up coming volume rise. Watch it again and see for yourself. Try being a bit more polite and less of a dick and you might find you live a happier life. Good luck to you.

  • Why don't u have more views? It is a pretty good video!

  • Supposed to use "Rare earth magnets."

  • The ones i bought from Wal-Mart were neodymium so they were rare earth. I think they just didn't put out quite enough power to get the spike effect.

  • Yea,the Neodymium magnet is the "Rare earth magnets".They are the strongest known.

  • @Box951 hey we tried this today in science class from the same video and you need MICR toner, like you said, i got the same result as you.

  • Awesome, I was quite sure that my toner was not the MICR toner. I think even with the MICR toner, my magnets may not have been quite enough. Thanks for letting me know.

  • Your supposed to buy a bottle of toner not break into the parts xD

  • Haha, I know. But the one I broke was "empty". When they say they are empty, the toner has just moved from the reservoir to the excess container. It is still technically usable toner, but can't be ran through again. Sounds like an expensive waste, and it is...

  • you have an awsome music taste of sweet child o mine

  • @1rw0 Thanks

  • its oki do you like estranged by gnr?

  • Its an ok one, don't hate it, but not sure if its on my favorites list.

  • god damn it its not a fair warning if you give me 1 second

  • @davidkolo Sorry man, I'm still new to this. It won't happen again. Haha.

  • Hey! Nice video. To get the best results you really need a powerful magnet. I was using two stacked rare earth magnets in my video which is why the field was so much stronger and forced the undulations on the liquid. Anyways, best of luck!

  • u also forget some toners dont have as strong magnetic properties as the one you used

  • @pyroxis Yeah, at about 1:40 I talked about that some have a higher Iron Oxide content, that is what makes it magnetic. The video HHH made clearly states to get MICR toners. I tried researching the types of toners I had. One clearly said it was not. I couldn't find anything specifically pointing out if the one I used was or was not. It could easily be my magnets or my toner. I already trashed it, so it's too late to experiment. Mainly I was just checking to see if it was possible.

  • Hey what toner did you use in your video? I can't mine to work. I really want it to though, it looks so cool!

    Cheers!

  • @4130films I used a Canon L50 cartridge. When doing the research on it, I found some that said Canon L50 MICR, but I don't know if it is the same or not. Like I said, I did get a ferrofluid, but it didn't react like I expected, which could be caused by my toner or magnet. Good luck with your experiment.

  • @HousholdHacker were you using a neodymium magnet?

  • Why do you have fake videos? I don't get you.
