@jasonmfrench89 You weren't able to tell it wasn't a Zepplin cover when you left this same comment on another SDRE video titled The Ocean? Are you a troll or are you legitimately a moron? There's no real difference, one just thinks he's clever and funny.
only caught the last song. But, a bunch of people said that every song sounded similar... Jeremy didn't mention what the new song was called? But, that being said It was still great to see them live. Look forward to see Jeremy's solo act if he comes around again.
i saw them in 1998 on the How It Feels.. tour, and WOW. they were so amazing, i had a chance to see Jeremy play in Boston recently, but my band was playing that night. I guess my priorities weren't in order
I'm so glad I though to look for this - I love the melody and the complementary guitar parts on this. Totally underrated band. The word "genius" doesn't even begin to describe them.
Yeah, though it used to be a little harder. Type in "9 SDRE" and you'll find something from an album they released before Diary. Sadly, it was only released in vinyl and it's next to impossible to find.
Diary really is an acquired taste, in my opinion. I used to not really like it that much save for Seven and In Circles, but then I started listening to it more and found that I like it more now than I thought I would.
brutal!!! es una canción preciosa. la escucho varias veces al dia desde hace tiempo y me sigue emocionando cada vez. a ver cuando le vemos por españa. saludos a tod@s los que jeremy nos toca la fibra. escuchen esto: standstill
brutal song! i want see you soon in spain ...kisses
it is hard to find bands like SDRE nowadays, they were one in a million. but if u guys want to hear something close to this check out CIRCA SURVIVE they're new and know what they're doing sounds amazing! ther is hope.
This by far my favorite Sunny Day song. I agree with mrpog about the bands today. It was different 15 years ago. The bands were just better. The Appleseed Cast is good though. I wish Mineral or The Gloria Record were still around. Now we have Zookeeper. Chris Simpson is excellent. Just a thought.
Met Dan a few times. He was extremely nice. It's because of him that I picked up the guitar. I agree that he missed and hope that he creates music again!
Only lineup change is the lack of Dan Hoerner, but the lack of Nate Mendel for HIFTBSO and The Rising Tide was unfortunate but they are still perfect albums.
I listened to Fire Theft... hoping they would be as good as SDRE.. and they don't sound anything like them :((( even though its basically the same.. I guess when a band gets older you get influenced differently, and you start to sound different
The Fire Theft is different, but they pull it off quite well, especially with "Sinatra." Well, I enjoy 'em anyway. Enigk said that they could make another album at some point, maybe not SOON but we can look forward to something in the future.
Enigk's about to release a new solo album sometime in the next few months, so that's gonna be pretty cool.
i wish that old school emo is still the emo now.. no emo fashion(the hair, tight jeans, it sucks) no growl.. simple music, emotional, clean, simple dresses.. and nice songs.. touching
sunny day real estate was definitely a band that made me appreciate music in a much more personal way than i did before hearing them. i don't think any band or person in the same/similar genre can touch what enigk is capable of. a perfect mix of surrealism and realism.
i just get this amazing feeling wen he sings this pic"When you hit the ground Its hard to speak But its who you are A shining star Go Tell the millions begin! Well run through the fields The turning of wheels Down with the buildings Worlds on your shoulders Climb through the wasteland Wait for the sky to remind you These things are true"
This band and my uncle (the guy with the beard a.k.a Dan) has been such an influence to me and my own band (Devoid). This song has had a huge effect on my life as well. I don't know what I would have done without this song and Sunny Day Real Estate. By the way, this is my "sister's" profile. :-)
the rising tide is my favorite album of theirs. whenever i hear "Rain Song" i get sad and happy at the same time..its a beautiful song but im sad that they broke up and i wont get to see them ever. i didnt even know they did acoustic sessions before 5 minutes ago
by the way does anyone have a tab of this song? ive looked everywhere
i am very impressed with this. this a very underappreciated song of theirs in my opinion. and to call any of the early emo bands seems liek an insult to me cuz emo now adays sucks and all the 90's emo was awesome.
I agree. But they didn't originate emo, people who were looking to pigeonhole music did with their ugly labels. I f you look past that though, you'd have to credit a band named Rites of Spring
