  • i had the pleasure of visiting soundstage 1a at mgm in 1977 and got to watch and hear lalo conduct and record a 60+ piece orchestra, for the film kinjute.

    a real musician.

  • @SHARKREEF2011 love and bullets not kinjute

  • @JessOnTheRun YOU RUINED THIS VIDEO YOU TROLL. GET OUT.

  • Lalo Schiffrin should have done a Bond soundtrack, ESPECIALLY in the 70's.

  • @sserpent21 He still should. Get rid of that David Arnold twat.

  • i wish i was there

  • Not bad. For awhile there, it looks like the guy on guitar is thinking to himself, "I can't believe I'm actually playing the Bond theme in concert! It's like a dream come true!" LOL!!

  • ahh, lalo Schifrin, cool.. but all the petty bickering between everyone else isn't.. I am fairly sure anyone who looked this up has some interest in music, so try to enjoy........

  • The people say that argentineans are egomaniacs , but we have people doing great things here and around the world. Lalo is from ARGENTINA. Best living female Classic music pianist (also best in 20th century)Martha Argerich and best masculine living pianist Daniel Baremboim are argentineans! hahaha. Then of course come myself! hehehe

  • man i love that guitar sound. Lalo and his orchestra were HUGE back in the 70's

  • @JessOnTheRun

Er, maybe if this wasn't recorded on a low quality cam you'd have a point, but as it stands this is a good rendition of the bond theme (NOT '007').

    Also energy at 1:35

  • ...This is The James Bond Theme....the 007 theme by John Barry is a different theme....

- GOldfinger - FrOm Russia With LOve - etc...).

MDR : haha!! N'IMPORTE QUOI, cOmme je le disais...

  • The guitar player is a bit too slow at the beginning I guess

  • Great!

  • what do you call it actually?

  • Love the expression on the bass guitarist's face....looks like he still can't believe he is playing the famous 007 iconic notes.

  • @pleetor1 Dude, that's not a bass guitar...

  • Japanese,sorry.

    Lalo Schifrin

  • this the best one i heard so far.

  • Everything he touches turns into jazzy gold.

  • Despite the fact that Lalo didn't write this he is still a legend when it comes to film and TV theme tunes. If you look him up on google it is amazing (like janiscortese said) what he actually 'didn't ' write.

  • Who wrote it anyway???

  • See AlexDeLarge90 post.

  • @Fridolin1989 , ... *

  • Jesus, what DIDN'T Lalo Schifrin write?

  • Monty Norman wrote the James Bond theme. John Barry and his orchestra played it.

  • Lalo = best Argentinian compositor

  • +Astor Piazzola

  • This is actually 'The James Bond Theme'. The 007 Theme is something quite different.

    Whatever, nice interpretation by Lalo.

  • Wha...? What is the difference?

  • Two completely different compositions. Both are available on youtube. The 007 theme was definitely composed by John Barry.

  • Wow!

  • His Amityville theme still creeps me out after all these years!!

  • Great performance !! awesome

  • Lalo Schiffrin has composed the Mission : Impossible theme and Dirty Harry Theme. He also had composed the music from the video game Splinter Cell, Pandora Tomorrow

  • He also composed the theme music for Enter The Dragon.

  • and Kelly's Heroes....

  • I think you mean Hogan's Heroes. . . . but if that's the case, he was more versatile than I originally thought!!!

  • watch?v=AxYC350nqRM

Music by Lalo (you can tell after 2 bars ;) ) and sung by the mike curb congregation.

  • Al Pacino on guitar?? Lol.

  • LOL!!!

    I was thinking the samething.

  • yes

  • oh haa!

  • You mean... HOOOOO-HAAAAAAARRRR!!!!!

  • Lalo es ARGENTINO !!!!!!!!!!

  • Henry Mancini who also did Pink Panther

  • @gedi23 @gedi23 , NOT AT ALL ! ...* :-)

  • brilliant lol

  • Down it my fmend you shout me_!!!

  • Lalo didn't compose this one but he's still a brilliant composer!

  • Never knew that this one guy did all these famous themes. Amazing!

  • Ähhhh?!? No, no, no! I mean, Schifrin DID indeed a lot of well known Themes (Mission Impossible, Cool Hand Luke, Dirty Harry, Matrix, Bullit, Enter the Dragon...) but THIS one, the most famous 007 Theme was composed by Monty Norman (and not by John Barry, although the majority don't know).

  • Apparently, Monty Norman did this immortal tune for the sum of 600 pounds, or the price of an average family car back in 1961!

  • Monty Norman continues to receive royalties for this composition so I`m not sure what the £600 related to ?

  • 600 pounds was the original composition fee. Glad that Monty is at least receiving royalties for his work.

  • utterly briliant
