@DaRollaBoy97 Water Pump. It is usually driven by the pulley system, or Front Engine Accessory Drive (FEAD). Notice the geometry of the fins, that is how you know it is the impeller. The starter motor appears at 1:55. You know because of its direct connection to the flywheel.
You think such a complex machine would more efficient than just 28%. The internal combustion engine is an embarrassment to humankind. I hate the Italian engineers that conceived the core idea back in the late 1800s. And I'm certain that if Karl Benz hadn't incorporated it into the first automobile another genius would have conceived a far better power plant.
@UrDaShInGPriNcE The internal combustion engine was revolutionary for it's time in the late 19th century, but as you said, times need to move on. We've gotten the internal combustion engine to it's most efficiency now, but now in the 21st century, the hydrogen or electric engine is now the future.
@kazimann I see your point. I don't know it we'd get the same power from Electricity or Hydrogen as we're getting from Diesel. Even if we were, the Electric engine needs a source, so I'm not sure if we'd be reducing emissions on the grand scale of things. Plus, weight is important for machinery, I'm not sure if Diesel would be replaced in Agricultural machinery anyway,or haulage. I'm just speculating!
think about it. there are no natural stores anywhere. and obtaining it from water requires a lot of energy. this energy is higher than the energy produced in any hydrogen engine.
the politics ofit was a sham, just as much as the ethanol from corn was, or the 'green jobs' is. (government cannot create jobs without spening tax payers money - money that could have produced jobs through being spent/ govt always spend inefficiently)
@UrDaShInGPriNcE just by having the engine invented, doesn't stop otherrs from devolping another, better engine. so if there was another type of engine it would have already been invented. your reasoning is majorly flawed.
28% sounds bad, but relatively speaking it is very high.
@ilikpron i know its a gas engine.. and i also know that the motor being built in the vid is the exact motor i rebuilt 2 months ago from my ford vehicle.. its a duratec through and through.. i build them, i tune them, i modify them. this is not an original video. search "ford duratec" on here and see what comes up...
The DEUTZ engines are the worst in the world. Mechanical Problems, Engenheering problems, the company works very badly in the costumer services, they don't answer emails and they are waiting to end of the guarantee to be able to get by with the problem.
Do not buy DEUTZ engines run from problems and avoid paying for expensive engines.
If you need a Generator buy a low cost one... you will see it's better.
Wow I guess that what ill be doing later on since im studing mechanical engineering. Look really complicated.
Spidie911- It not that bad since you dont have the remove all the parts on the outside. Looks like a standard I4 plus it looks like it was designed to take appart easily.
what hybrid rotary engine are you talking about, oh wait there are none. what are these hybrid vehicles with a rotary motor? the only rotary out right now is in a rx-8 and i know for a fact its not hybrid. besides why would you want to use a engine platform that burns oil and cant even use synthetic oil in because the apex seals will detiriorate and bust as a hybrid. the rotary is not taking over if anything the electric generator motor will.
this is not a V4. nor a ford! idiots! its a I (as in in line, because it's straight in in V form) 4 because 4 go in and 4 go out; so that makes an I4 DOHC (dual over head cam) because there is 2 (hence, dual) over head cams.
I can't believe it's not on wikipedia. This is the most comprehensive video about combustion engines I've seen. And I have been looking for those vids!!!

@kazimann hydrogen is effectively just a battery.

DEUTZ builds just DIESEL engines.
THIS is a petrol/gasoline engine
(you can see flat pistons and ignition plugs)
so why is this video named "Deutz"?
Badsaiyaman 2 years ago
Its fundamentals are good
bucket style cam followers and gurdle style main cap etc(prefer split case)
single throlltebody sucks as intake runners have to be long to prevent crosstalk at certain rpms etc
lot like some rotax engines but lags behing mc engine technology like 600 cc bikes have heck even kaws zx10 engine from 88 is ahead of it

potsmoker5000 3 years ago
I have to say, this engine is very Japanese-ish, the Honda/Toytoa 4's usually place the plug boots right on top (makes tuning up a breeze).
gman2000 3 years ago
Most if not nearly all 4 cylinders are like that.

Most new hybrid cars now have rotary engines, which have around 8 parts. Say goodbye to the piston engine.

Oh wow, you cant be serious. Rotarys use more petrol than piston motors

This is neither a diesel nor a DEUTZ - DEUTZ do not make petrol engines only diesel and gas engines. This is not either.
The Screen saver is circulating on CD and claimed to be DEUTZ but it is NOT a DEUTZ engine.
