  • Now how does your File Server work? What server role is it running IIS,etc? And how many of those are using windows server 08' r2?

  • 250????? WTF???? Love it!!!!!!

  • why dual cpu mac pros??

  • A server called ginger, wow. Just... Wow

  • 3:04 - that's what she said

  • @RickswanProductions Fuck yeah my friend!

  • We have a new free bitcoin pool, please join us! bithasher com

  • Ist auch geil seine Server nach Gewürzsorten zu bennennen. Wir geben den andere Namen.

  • Cisco is a corporations that single-out certain people that avoiding certain people and discriminate certain people Cisco it's a company that involved with a lot of organizations that related the "Mind Controlled Slave" and "ILLUMINATI" (Whatever it is) originally created by Italians and Germans Natsis That running the project-MKULTRA-(A deadly methods and experiments stalking of targeted individual)

  • @src438 lol....sure buddy....

  • Wow that is so sloppy and unorganized, I wouldnt show that to anyone

  • WHY AN XSERVER -facepalm-

  • seems like those zip-ties could have been spread out farther...

  • Virtualization sucks, real men have real servers for every conceivable function plus redundancy. . For all the extra headaches and effort put into admining real servers its worth it. There is nothing like commanding a roaring data-center throbbing and surging with drives, lights and fans to let you know there is real power there. I move 100 Terabytes for breakfast. It's like running the USS Enterprise.

    PS: Fuck the environment :D

  • @symertechcomputers You sir obviously don't know what the hell you are talking about....

  • @123Jus1 Mm, OK. Having more servers than are needed is expensive and difficult to maintain-especially if they are physical. But if more is better, then since you can get between 30 to 60 servers per physical host (and more) in the datacenter, then that makes virtualization "awesomer" Try maintaining (or rather being on the *team* that maintains) 1000 or more physical servers and "awesome" becomes a real pain. Blinky lights are fun until you have to update firmware, patch the OSes, etc.

  • dsl????

  • on a dsl line fuck that

  • It's fine but why don't you leverage virtualization? You could easily get rid of 6 of those servers and lower your cooling, power and space requirements-and cabling mess. I mean a whole physical server for DNS or AD or even DHCP? That's such a waste of resources and money-especially when you consider that virtualization doesn't cost anything, at least to get started. With vSphere, you can easily get 5 to 7 server VMs per processor core. It will make your life much easier for sure.

  • @deandownsouth Because more servers is awesomer.

  • could be organized more.

  • Is this your room? where is your bed?

  • yall name ur server food names? lol i would give them like this bob this is server frank! this server it jack!

  • 3:05 thats what she said!

  • Very messy! Definitely needs some hand made cabling.. Goodluck!

  • Nice Job, Bit Messy.

  • you need cable management. Messy cables.

  • you need cable management.

  • UKB switch?

  • @Dennis5587 Looks like a KVM switch to me.

  • you need a bigger closet, also the rack should be moved away from the wall, just dress up your cables a little more...nice work...

  • that's the HARDISK ROOM !!!! How many HDs you have ? :D

what's the PLATE over the rack ? TNX nice vid.

  • Like we dont know what a UPS is already ... anywayz .. nice setup.

  • I love the double relay rack. LOL I have a similar situation in my rack room. Those DELLS insist on being too deep to fit in a normal rack.

  • ahhhhhh me want...........

  • x-serve, dell, and terrastation. You guys really just buy the most expensive shit you can buy.

  • looks dizzy to connect the cables

  • Those servers need to come out of the closet, and admit they are Zwinky servers

  • LOL FAN

  • Is it just me or should he be able to get behind the racks as well?

  • Your cable managing is poor, I would never accept this.

  • My Server room is a bit bigger, but we have less users as you guys do. I've been only a system admin for about 7 months, but my company was able to invest in some wire management solutions and cable closets for making sure the ethernet doesn't get so bad. It's difficult to manage wires on a budget though if you don't have the equipment put into place already, so I can totally understand where he's coming from. Doesn't matter if you have experience or not, it's more of an art to clean wires.

  • 1:00 rasist lol... Ginger

  • Server closet XDD

  • Well done. Love your label "air circulation device". :D

    ~Cindy! :)

    ..

  • I have been installing networks for over 20 years and to be honest this is BAD and not thought through. While this can work, your over all expandability is limited. I know it's a budget thing but I always find rooms like this and I just scratch my head and say it was the IT GUY with no network installation experience.

    1= rack management

    2= serviceability

    3=power management

    4=expandability

5=climate control,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,, total grade for this install C-,,,,,, sorry!

  • @James1toknow I can agree. I am only 21 and been installing networks for 2 years as well as running cable and I think the same thing. Just take a little extra time to make it neat. Says so much about a technician

  • @traingunner So remember the list of things to remember when installing a LAN or WAN or any type of topology and you should be fine.

What the problem is now is every vendor is fighting for you business with there equipment, and solutions.

Be wise look around, stick with names that matter.

my name is on many MDF's and Back boards with pride.

  • @James1toknow I know, but sadly most bosses are ignorant and force installations like this to cut costs.

  • @Rsthaliot tell them pay now or pay later! LOL

  • Xserve #FTW

  • 2:47 finally sum 1 who has it organized ;-)

  • what is this for? like what website?

  • FYI I'm also the alarm guy thats going to school Bus Ad MIS to get a job like you because I've seen 1,000 too many IT's living my dream.

  • I'm the alarm guy that you hate because you have to actually show up when I come to service your networked alarms LOL I LOVE YOU

  • I liek how they are named around spices

  • u should show how u fucking your wife that's better than all these shit!!!

  • Clean it up before putting on the internet :)

  • cool a job of dream :) !!!!!

  • wee.. Hava backa upp stashon

  • wht dose each one do ??

  • cant u use a little shorter patch cords for patch panel ? 0.5 meter is long enough.

    unfamiliar with cable management.

    no cisco switch lol.

  • wow what a mess

  • please tell me you're not the systems administrator

  • redundant power cord missing on file server *SNORT*

  • 3:07 "so here's a look at the WRECK" :D

  • the ethernet cables need a little more organizing. other than that, it looks great

  • you need to hire a better cabling company :) first of all, we dont use tie wraps anymore, we use velcro, i didnt see a sleeve coming through te wall for the cables to come through as they should, and that D-Ring where the cables 90 down, you will soon be having problems with the cables underneath being crushed from the weight of the bundle. Also as Nerwin and ilovestorms2 said, The patch cables look very bad and it isnt even a big MDF/IDF, it should be more orginized (Wire managers) would help.

  • 2650!!! Those servers are great! Picked up two off eBay at silly prices, fired them up and they are fantastic! Our company infrastructure is entirely Dell and *touch-wood*, i've never had a hardware failure in the 5 years since purchase!

  • please may i ask what software should i use for a server please help me

  • love it..and i did laugh on your air blower machine.lol

  • Apple rules!

  • i have a fan who looks something like that ! LO-CO in spanish is crazy hehe you say it

  • ahh ! i love it so much so cute ! :) LOL

  • Love it...especially as he is using an XServe and Dual APC UPS systems...The only issue i have...is what business uses SMC in a production environment...if not all Dell, HP, Cisco, or old bay networks (Netgear). Why not something else...Overall 9/10 :)

  • yap defenatly ........Its a fan. some xpo hy tech built in manegment for speed

  • cool never seen a server room!!! Its very loud isnt it. That is some good networking isnt it!!

  • I didn't know that companies actually purchased Xserves.

  • @ronaldmcgddonald

dell has a good lease program thats why there everywhere, not bad either

  • @deluxedookie

comment wrong person lol, and couldnt erase @_@

  • 2:48 Looks like a fire code violation.

  • Air circulation Device? LOL WTF just say fan!

  • Looks great! Besides the ethernet cables around the patch panel and switches should be organized a little bit more.

  • @nerwin I agree, I dont care what these people have if it all looks like dump!

  • I LOVER Hosting!

  • 2:31 omg i LOVE Ethernet cables

  • @bradman5505 lmao same i do to unless they get in the way

  • what's the ups model?

  • dude thats actually the best solution and the cheapest, nto only does it move a really good amount of air but its cheep, its not like its and oober rackmounted super liquid cooling module

  • Air circulation device WTF IT'S A FAN

  • I agree. Its a fan. :)

  • @ilovestorms2 if it was a dyson fan thing i would accepted but a FAN wWTF hhahah

  • @ilovestorms2 he said it was a joke

  • I say as long as the wiring is up to code and there isnt any packet losses or collisions on the network, its all ok as long as its still kept clean and not dusty.

  • Awful installation fuck this.... Even a kid can handle wiring and racks better than you.

Looks like a colombian did the wiring haha

  • most places look like shit unless your working in a Very big company

  • @Kyodaikuma

Do u know how much a pro install costs???!!!!!!!

    Give him a break!

PS/FYI : Im an N+ Student at a Cisco class.

He did it as best as he could and the trunk lines look properly bundled to me. As long as he used Cat-5e (or better) and snagless cables, who gives a Shite about the little bit of clutter in the wiring. My R.O.P A+ Class had the same look. and it worked fine

  • Wasted rack space, rat nest wiring, sloppy labeling - General overall sloppy server room in my opinion.

  • I love how the "Server closet" sign has braille also! :-)

  • and the monitoerrrrr LOL

  • another poweredge, 1ew rofl

  • nice xserve, what's it like on speed? as in like speed for downloading a file on the network?

  • Have you looked at virtualisation? 250 terminals dont need 11 servers!!!

Consolidate and you could save energy, time and carbon footprint. You can still have redundancy that you can fire up at a point of failure within seconds.

Just bugs me people get paid to 'maintain' this junk.

I can imagine these guys sitting anxiously waiting for the new feature to be suggested at a boardmeating so they can suggest a new server just to pad out their naming convention. "Jose, we need a Nutmeg next"

  • Interesting video but.....you should work on your cable management techniques because the cables are A MESS.Innapropriate for an Administrator

  • maybe he want job security to keep having to fix it lol

  • I agree, as a Cisco Network install student, I would have first done a floor plan to determine the best cabling set-up and then gone ahead and gotten the equipment after.

  • @Sanosuke004

    Mr. Sagarra --

I thought they taught you in your 4th quarter CCNA class... you build your systems to be scalable, expandable and upgradable from the current baseline -- which is what the current business needs...

Don't you be puttin bad words in my CISCO's mouth!

    -Mr. Himura, CCNP

  • must be nice in the winter

  • Did the blind guy hook up the cat cables?

  • why is the ups so close to the servers with that massive magnet in it.

  • lol air circulation device AKA A FAN!!! HAHAHAH

  • this is all nice but simple and a lot of cooling for a small amout of hardware

  • That is actually a decent amount of equipment, and it doesn't look like a very big room, which would get warm quick

  • I didn't know that anybody bought Xserves.

  • lol at the brail on the sign on the door xD Like a blind man is gonna be able to do all that wiring xD

  • my school has it on everything in that area. Pluming, eletrical, servers...

  • we are going to need our own when we start looks exspensive

  • LOL Air Circulation Device =]

You guys really like Dells, don't you? The Xserve really stands out. :D

  • Xserve is to expensive for 3 terabytes. Apple always are overpriced but I still love apple

  • impressive never seen a server room before in my life just starting doing ccna

  • You still haven't though. This is a little closet. Not a server room. Real datacenters can be as large as a football field or more...

  • got wireless :)

  • virtualize that stuff man.... safe space, energy and heat output!

VM + data domain backup = WIN

  • Tell me about it, I <3 Virtualization

    I went from 10 servers @ 10% usage down to 4 @85%

  • good srv's, bad organisation.

  • wow...its bit nice mighty server room. Perhaps you could add wire basket cable try for overhead raceway. an organiser or cable management on the cabinet to avoid that spaghetti cables.

  • Nice setup but the DSL connection????????? All that needs a good fiber

  • Yep yep... fiber would have served that building better! :)

  • lol DSL connection

  • You're an ignorant racists faggot who knows nothing about computers/computing or technical skills at all.

  • LOL so true so true

  • Air circulation device, better call it as "electric fan"...thats more geeky..

  • That's an interesting watch.

  • The best here is the XServe, respect for that :)

  • haha, this cannot be serious!!

  • I believe there called KVM switches

  • when i get my house...im gonna have a special room with a backup drive, network station, and anything else i can fit in there!

  • Lol, love the fan.

  • I'm amazed you are allowed to teach A+ courses, let alone anything that involves knowing technology.

Watching this video I'm just waiting on the admin to walk in and tell you to get out.

  • Gotta love the UKV switch

  • cross cabels looks ugle. Eah..

    Get them together.

  • cool

  • Love the 10Mbps, it's so slow...

  • lol "This is the air supply device"

  • It so is!

  • Sir , Is it a normal system in US ? I don`t know which level of network there ( normal or special ..) cause I intent go to US and work as network system admin.

  • Love it

  • what are these servers for may i ask?

  • a server can be used to store diffrent acounts on , say for instance a school or IT classroom getting used all day every day, if pupils saved there documents files and websits on that pc the pc would eventualy fill up and be of no use to anybody else, servers can be used to manage internet filters , host websites , store users data and even customer data, its more secure and more profesional ALOT OF THINGS :) read other peoples coments

  • now, what is the point of having a server for school or office building? i mean, can you just use an ethernet switch, and maybe put a few network drives on it? what exactly does a server do that a home network cant?

  • Then you have more control with servers, restricting access, web sites and Storage

  • don't forget you can set up domain controllers

  • a server can be used to store diffrent acounts on , say for instance a school or IT classroom getting used all day every day, if pupils saved there documents files and websits on that pc the pc would eventualy fill up and be of no use to anybody else, servers can be used to manage internet filters , host websites , store users data and even customer data, its more secure and more profesional

  • ummm.... why are you using 10mb dsl when you can get verizon FiOS? and get 50mb internet?

  • Chances are its SHDSL, which is symmetrical. Plus this setup is pretty mickey mouse..

    -Alex

  • Do you see all the white or clear tie wraps on the cat 5 cable next to the inner duct for fiber? THATS A BIG NO NO. Only use Velcro from now on I'll give you a tip on installation of this new way for cat 5-7 bundling standard.

  • Who ever installed this gave just the basic. Just the basic BICSI standards. You do get what you pay for. Rack management and total BICSI Bell core standards. You got the basic now come see one of the best. GB 5 D rings on the wall are so 1990. Installed up to 1000 locations w/ WAN and LAN and FDDI, wireless with PBX. Not to mention full Communication battery back up with Ac Conditioning services, As well as off site monitoring.

  • that is a a messy patch panel, you guys should take care of all the web of "cat" wires and make the server room look neat. any ways kool video.

  • And not only that, I would have flipped the switches to have the ports face the walls for theft protection and to increase the time that someone has to unplug all those cables to make off with the server equipment.

  • The direction of wires wouldn't make any difference at all to a pair of snips or even garden shears.

  • You should clean up your patchpanel and put everything into a bigger rack with walls and keylock.

  • are you guys a laptop school cause our school is

  • I would love to work in a room filled with Apple X Serve's. That would be a dream job.

  • Thanks!! Nice video.
