couldnt write more in that post, so i'm just gonna finish with saying that, to all swedish guys out there, PM me here on youtube and ill tell you how you can get your collector licence for knifes :)
Jeff, i have to agree with you about the staff on Benchmade, they are indeed awesome, and im happy to tell you that i ordered my BM Model 51 TODAY!!!!!
And a note to add, i live in Sweden, and in Sweden you are not allowed to use, buy or carry a balisong of any kind but you are allowed to have it in your house ONLY. (If you are over 21, I'm 18 myself, but i spoke to the police and got myself a "Knife Collector pass" or something, wich means that i'm allowed to get them, just a note to Swedes:)
I work with the mail as a postal emplyee, BUT I dont get paid from the post office or work for them, I work privatly for a wommne who owns postal contracts, so I have to go by postal guidelines but I dont work for them, on paper and to the giovernment Im self employeed, but in lamens terms to explain it easily Im a postal workler, lol
i love this guy haha doin all he can takin his precious time to make a couple ppl happy:) hey jeff you should review the spyderco temperance 2 looks like a great knife!!....besides the price:(
btw cutlerylover if you read this maybe make a video on some of the things we are talking about? Idk it would be cool if you did, you know a fan video topic thing idk.
hey man. i just got my first video for revenue share. I was wondering how I can get my other videos for revenue share as well and revenue share is different then partnership correct? How far away from a partnership do you think I am if I just got my first revenue share video. Last thing: what makes the video get elegible for revenue share, because the one that they picked for revenue share for me was one of my videos with the least amount of views. Thanks, you've always been a good supporter
The ONLY knives that are banned in the UK are switchblades, ballisong, gravity knives, push knives, stealth knives and knuckle knives -and these are not banned from being owned; just sold, manufactured, imported etc...
You can carry any knife you want that is not on that list: AS LONG AS YOU HAVE GOOD REASON.
What MAY be a problem for the winner is that customs will successfully claim an axis lock is a 'gravity knife' these days: if it goes through Mount Pleasant.
@xXxCatsnakexXx thanks for clarifying that with me, but sorry that still pretty much all knives to import, and by good reason is that like "oh im a wood worker and need it?" or can "self defense" be a good reason? So what are "push knives" and "gravity knives" exactly?
Bowies, daggers basically most fixed blades are all fine. Machetes are fine. Basically all folders are fine. Only those types of blades I mentioned are prohibited by law from being imported.
The AXIS lock thing is a recent sneaky trick being done at one UK customs house -axis locks are freely available to buy from UK based sellers ironically and are legal to carry with GOOD reason.
Oh, God firearms legislation in the UK gets real complicated but the short answer is basically things are restricted to a level where your average joe is put off even bothering to apply for the ticket that would let him buy them. PM me if you want details! lol
In answer to your previous question a push knife is generally a dagger but not always and protrudes from between your fingers so that when you punch it effectively locks into your skeletal structure -VERY simple, VERY effective!
@xXxCatsnakexXx yeah even in the US we had a big shooting in a military base, they guy was able to shoot off 100 rounds and the one who took him down was like a woman security guard, not even a service member, so the lack of guns was actually sad, if more people carried then less people would try to shoot. (btw I haven't read the official news reports just what i have heard)
The woman who took him down was a swat trained DOD police officer not a security guard, and the reason nobody had a weapon to defend themselves is because it is illegal to conceal carry on a military reservation. I lived on fort hood for five years my dad recently retired as a SGM after 35 years of service he now lives off post and has his ccw which he carries all the time unless going on post. so it isnt that no one is carrying it is because it is illegal to do so on a military base.
GOOD REASON is a tricky area and depends on the circumstances in which you are searched but basically if you have the knife with you for you profession, hobby or cultural or religious reasons AND you are not acting irresponsibly then you are well within the law. Self Defense is not legally a good reason and will sadly get you in alot of trouble if you say this. Also you can carry a non-locking knife with a sub 3inch cutting edge without any reason.
Perhaps you should try arguing that with your local constabulary. it is illegal to carry any pointed edged weapon in the UK. I have lost many knives to the local police to prove the matter, my argument that if I was intent, I could do just as much damage with a spoon has on occasions cost me a couple of hours in the cells. It is only legal to carry a folding knife (3" blade or less) or a multi tool, only if you have good reason, and you are not in a public place. check out the OPSI web site.
I heard their trying to outlaw glass also in bars. England's protective culture, seems very odd to me. So I guess no one gets stabbed to death in your country anymore since the government has outlawed everything. Do you all get to vote on these laws?? Why is no one angry?? What about kitchen knives, sharp sticks, jagged plastic things, nails, I guess if your a builder nails are ok right?
Doggorunning, Cheers mate! Nutn mentioned it and well.. it all depends where you drink really. There is no nationwide law that bans glass. If you drink somewhere that has ppls faces slashed open, every weekend then if they don't get their liquor license taken away and shut down; they will probably only get to keep it if they switch to plastic. I know in certain areas of Liverpool there was a compulsory switch to plastic. The 'health & safety' culture in the UK makes alot of ppl very angry! lol
WOW thats so sad....theirs a group in the US that wish we were like the UK. Its all about money IMO, your government like ours is so deep in crookedness that their is really no stopping the machine once it gets started. I like the fact we have guns, it keeps our government in check.
cujomojo2007 theres been a campaign to get the British public to believe that the carrying of any knife is illegal. This is untrue. Convictions have not gone up substantially so the courts are NOT ignoring the law -you CAN have a knife with you if you are fishing, bushcrafting, boating. You CAN carry a knife for use at work. And you CAN carry a non-locking folder with a cutting edge of less than 3inch for EDC with no specific good reason.THE POLICE WONT TELL YOU THIS some wont know BUT IT IS LAW
Haha, oops. I took an assisted locking knife with a 3-4 inch blade with me to the U.K. this summer, I guess either they missed it or they let it go because they saw it with my camping gear.
You can buy assisted knives in the UK easily and legally. An assisted knife should be fine unless it went through Mt. Pleasant customs -but then again most security officers over hear may think it was a switchblade and you would have a hard time proving it wasn't against the British legal definition of a switchblade. If you fought it in the courts and they won, the side effect would be that it would set a legal precident outlawing AO knives. I guess it's just a matter of time. Sad really.

A gravity knife deploys its blade using gravity -it's meant to have been used by NAZI paratroopers though I don't know if thats true.
Oh and I forgot to say... no the gun laws have only made things worse. The stats back this up.

I know man it's awful and I can't imagine what it must be like for their families... they weren't even deployed.
I hope the media don't downplay it from what it is -a terrorist attack on US soil. It disgusts me.
