Aruna sairams voice gives a comfort of being on mothers lap.. so when she sings about almighty krishnaparamathma's baala leela it works out well.. more than her singing ability her voice portrays motherly affection in these kind of songs..

aruna amma u r absolutely superb I pray god for ur long life and great service to carnatic music. (with more emotions) meri umar bhi aapko lag jaaye. I pray god for this too.
Awesome song by Oothukadu. Wonderful singing by Smt Aruna Sairam. Thanks for posting this and making my day. Listening to these kind of songs add life to your life.
some musicians have exaggerated body language when performing. More so if the kruthi is composed in a language they understand. I think that is human. One of the memorable geniuses of Carnatic music - Kunnakkudi Vaidyanathan had a prominent body language on stage, how can that take away the genius from the learned !! "ONE" person disliking a musicians stage presence doesnt take away the musician's credibility

my impressions are generally based on listening to artist more than a few times. I have personally never seen her sing anything without too much "melodrama". Even a simple phrase like " S R G M D S" in Abhogi or any such ragas, is heard with her jumping on the stage (as if some unique never heard phrase is coming out of her)..Never seen her do a raga alapana where i see decent manodharma. the sales arsenal is zillion tukkadas and the associated "cheshtai".
I don't know why you were discouraged from expressing your opinion. I don't agree entirely, but I see your point, and I definitely don't think your post should so forcefully be discouraged.

the degradation of carnatic music in action..one of her teachers the great T. Brindamma would probably have firmly planted a slap on her cheek for singing like this.
Can you explain what is wrong with Raga, Bhava or rendition.. I believe its perfectly set to potray the kannan and his pranks. Please refrain from saying things about a great singer like Smt Aruna Sairam.
Exactly how is this considered "degrading"? In the worst case one could call it dramatic. But seriously, I would really like to know why you would say such things about such a great singer.
simple and wonderful song.smt.aruna sairam and sudha ragunadhan are singing the lyrics in a different order.can anyone tell me which one is correct.thanks for uploading.
This is the best song ever!! What humor Oothukkadu Venkatakavi had!! Especially, "pakkattu vITTup-peNNai azhaippAn avalai mukhAri rAgam pAdachcholli vambukkizhuppAn enakkadu teriyAdenrAl nekkuruga
kiLLi viTTu (avaL) vikki vikki azhum pOdu idANDi mukhAri enbAn" was really fantastic!! What delicious humor!! I'm rolling with laughter!
Simple but Amazing way to render ..such folk kritis rendered would go a long way in keeping audience in live spirits and they can be made to feel part of the whole process !! A healthy mixture of pure classical , folk and bhajans makes a concert really like a buffet..there is always something everyone feels the best ..hats off to Aruna ji.
Lord Krishna as a child is reputed to have been very naughty. In this song, Oothukkadu, the composer has provided a humorous and loving description of the various pranks played by the child Krishna.
osho says about kannan ... every one should read it... how a god....like a human ...
if u presume god ..then good one lovly my attitude in childhood
