  • Get out

  • "I'm 39..In my thirties...I. I . I'm in my thirties" haha

  • i think theres a modern uprising of Americans trying to do irony. And it DON'T WORK.

  • 5:09 genius

  • 6:27 when the lady walks in, Brent sucks his tummy in. CLASSIC.

  • only a fucking tool would have a serious political discussion here

  • u know when u found a genius comedy show when the biggest laughs are those that don't need words.

  • 8 O

  • so cringe. so good. classic brent

  • @GarryHarriman Frankly, I can't stop pissing myself this many years later! I can't imagine what it must have been like in the room. I cringe at just the thought of what's coming.

  • I think you Brits are just jealous of Americans. You once had the mightiest empire the world had ever seen and a few rag tag Americans showed the world that you are a paper tiger. Everything unraveled and now all you have to hold on to is a silly show, which America did better.

  • @hbdywtk you represent everything that is wrong with our country.you're probably a 'real' american. and that is not a compliment.

  • @drunkenirsh420 your screen name says it all. Loser.

  • @hbdywtk - if you are referring to the war of independence, it wasn't "a few rag tag Americans". It was a pretty damn smart group of expat Brits with the help of the French. In effect, this was a long distance civil war, lol, and only after that could the guys in the states be called "Americans".

And what screwed the old empire wasn't the loss of America, it was the two world wars, so the real blame lies with the Kaiser and Hitler.

What is totally screwing Britain right now is the EU.

  • @drakenwulf lmao. If calling the war of iindependence a "civil war" makes you feel better, go for it. The fact is the arrogant English at the time referred to the colonists as "Americans" which was considered a derogatory term at the time. They didn't consider the people here as English (many were not anyway, for example, Paul Revere). But since the "Americans" beat the snot out of the English, they call it a "Civil War" to make themselves feel better about being such losers.

  • @hbdywtk Nope, I'm fine calling it a war of independence, and if I'd been in America at the time I'd have been fighting against the British government as well - read up on the history of John Paul Jones - that guy was from my hometown, and he came back during the war to attack it, lol! That'd be me.

But - there was no official independent country called "America" until after the war, so the majority of those in America would be of various European nationalities, mainly British.

  • @drakenwulf true, there was no official independent country called "America" until after the war. How could there be? But the colonies weren't considered "England" either. Thanks for the lesson on John Paul Jones though. I didn't know that and will have to look it up. Cheers.

  • It's amazing how different the UK and US versions are in their approach. While they're both about social gaffes and such, the British version is mostly awkwardness and comes across a lot more realistic. The American version is a lot crazier and relies on extreme personalities like Dwight who causes mass panic trying to teach fire safety. The people are like caricatures.

  • The white t-shirt and jeans are wonderful!

  • @GrahamCorlet I've been to crappy office training days etc and I'd be well happy if someone like him came in to give a 'talk', and certainly wouldn't be sitting there looking like a dummy - I'd be trying really hard not to laugh and thanking God we had some entertainment at last!! lol

  • You can't beat the UK version!! I couldn't sit through the US one, it's just done like a sitcom, and a bad one! I saw a comment from an American about our version once that said 'it's too British'... probably the most stupid comment I've ever seen! The British version is too British!!???? LMAO

  • The American version is so much better. It's obvious to anyone with a brain. People who claim that the British version is better and city it's "subtle" humor might as well say the emporor has no clothes.

  • @hbdywtk

    Screw you.

  • @ThePaxtonProductions there you go! That's real humor! That's what I'm talking about my man! High five me!!!

  • @hbdywtk

    *high five*

  • @hbdywtk hahahah dumbfuck

  • @hbdywtk boring troll is boring

  • @ladyjaneheath

    cant stand him!

  • @hbdywtk. "...might as well say the emporor has no clothes."

The emperor did not have any clothes. That was the whole point of the story. (Maybe you accidentally reversed the analogy?)

  • @hbdywtk Americans don't have a brain. They're stupid and fat. They stole the office and turnt it into an over the top slapstick sitcom. Typical FAT Yankees!!!

  • best comedy ever. subtle humour is the best by far

  • Every single version of the office from each and every country was spawned from the British version. If it wasn't for the British version, there would be NO other versions. Damn that makes me sooo smug. :-)

  • " get out. go on get out!

  • I prefer the UK version, but I do watch the US version aswell, both are good, but If i had to choose I'd rather have the original..

  • What is it skunk.

  • The original is a lot darker. It delves so much into akwardness that its almost un-watchable. You sort of feel for the characters, but the American one is loaded with stereotyping, rendering it pretty unconvincing. The UK version is a lot more than a comedy. But I shouldnt really compare, they are so so different and have different audiences.

  • @jazz4 Any links to that one please?

  • Get out. Go on i've opened the door for you,

  • 'before I went out there, I was worried whether I still had it! I'll let you be the judge of that!'

  • I can't help but feel bad for the losers that forked out God knows how much to hear this speech lol.

  • god I am dying of akwardness

  • SIMPLY THE BEST!!!! WOHOOO HA

  • fuck the pope

  • @QuisSeparabit1977 The pope did us ALL proud by coming to our country as there are lots of idiots like you in the country. You paid for him as well, thank you from ALL of us Catholics.

  • I love how he does a fake laugh, and then you can tell when his real laugh comes out, that little cackle. This whole thing is genius.

  • I laugh as soon as you first see him in this scene in his "cool" gear.. Brilliant..

  • Do we really have to have your gay bell-end website link all the way through this video ? It's disrespectful and complete bollocks. if you need to spread your gaydom do it somewhere I can't see it.

  • So classic, probably the funniest character ever

  • lol get out

    ahahaah the awkwardness

  • lol get out

  • i always laugh when he throws his hat at that girl at 0:28 just hits her right in the head LMAO :)

  • at least Im not dead!!........id rather be dead

  • @quayle95

    LOL! gets me everytime haha.

  • peepshow

  • So painful. So hilarious.

  • it's gog from peepshow in the front row, no?

  • I'm just getting into yoga...

  • poor david always has good ideas but always wants people to recognize that HE had them. brilliant character.

  • I am living this day over and over again...

if someone manages to embarrass me, he is good

if he manages to embarrass me long distance through a tv-series, he is great

  • In all fairness the first guy wasn't particularly good either.

  • "I'm not saying that people like that should be [stares at hand]...put down."

  • Foreword by Duncan Goodhew........

  • You finished in here?

    No

    Lol

  • genius

  • As soon as you see Brent, you know you're in for a treat

  • Nobody does cringe better than Gervais & Merchant

  • I'm just getting into joga, for one.

  • I don't think David himself was embarrasing or outrageous in this scene. It's this stupid motivational shit that cause these people a lot of valuable spare time. I get motivated when I get payed more and I got more holidays. These seminars are the last thing that motivates anyone besides wanting to kill yourself.

  • i only just realised that when hes topless and the woman walks in he sucks stomach in to impress her :D

i dont think ill ever get bored of this show :)

  • I can watch these clips over and over!

  • Have you stopped it? No don't stop it, leaving going right to the end til I get....don't do that again next time, okay?

Sorry...er David Brent from Werhnam Hogg.

    Muffled claps

  • The cringe-factor of this is so great it caused me to bite my finger and drew blood.

  • Is this show supposed to be a comedy or... Compare him to his counterpart in the US version, Steve Carell. US version is much better. No offense to the English and to everyone likes this show.

  • @NEWunited14 How could you say that the U.s version is better Ricky created the persona and the show?

  • @NEWunited14 It's ok to say you LIKE the US version better. It's however not ok to say the US version IS better......

One is a sitcom and the other is an ode to society.

  • I'd like to see a spin-off show called Finchy.

  • @JohnPurchaseArt I'd like to see a spin-off show called Gareth Keenan Investigates

  • 5:09

  • what about Canadian Inuit

  • If you don't think you can cut it!

  • love that laugh

  • i think i just exhausted my cringe reflex

  • hilarious!!!!!!!!! this guy is a genius

    this show was classic

  • hahaha even if england does suck at sports they will always have great comedy

  • i dont know about the Usa but UK society is miserable full of confused stone faced people lacking sense of humour no matter you try to cheer them up.

  • @vrz07

    I don't understand, i'm so confused.

  • The American version is so crap and especially compared to this.

  • @MaratSafinVideos I agree, and I haven't even seen the US version. lol

  • @MaratSafinVideos thats not true. I used to think the same thing but the American version is ABSOLUTELY hilarious in its own right.

  • @SaeedE An opinion of a racist like you means very little.

  • "... I'm just getting into Yoga!"

  • I love 3:59 where you can tell he starts genuinely laughing hard.

  • 'Oi Brent, is all you care about chasing the Yankie dollar?' Brilliant

  • I could watch him chucking his hat all day long...gd funny on so many different levels....(native americans pause pause -gets credit ,in his mind , for mentioning this point...I could go on all day about the uk office series...

  • is this humor ??

  • funny... at 6:26 the girl walks into the room and he sucks in his gut LOL

  • lol

  • "you're a success...you're reaping the rewards." Sure.

  • Watching from the usa, the concept of a "paper company" is so much more realistic in the uk. Here everyone orders from Staples.

I can't even watch the US version anymore.

  • @wednos you wish

  • The awkwardness in this scene is amazing! lol

  • "get out....go on, i'll open the door for you..... yeah?"

Walking down the street remembered those words and must have laughed for 100 metres, im a miserable bastard too so thanks Ricky for your genius....

  • Basically in this part David was too taken a back with how much they where gonna pay him and put zero attempt into doing this right. He just tried to wing it basically lol

  • But Oy Brent! Is that all you care about, chasing the Yankee dollar?.......what a dick.....

  • ...hahahahahahahaha...

  • This is not motivational at all, it's sad. What the hell? But anyway, sorry for being negative. It's just that the talk was like it was given by a warden at a prison or something.

  • @Odi Are you for real?

  • @Odi

    Woosh.

  • @Odi That. is. the. joke.

  • A more attractive wife!

  • "im not going clubbing" "yes you bloody are!" hhaha

  • "I'm not eighteen anymore, I'm thirty-ni... I'm in my thirties" - Genius.

  • that fat bastard in the front row had to put on 10 stone for a five minute non speaking role

  • @tubenoobster did`nt he later star in `you are what you eat` (chips)

  • im sorry but being an american it just isnt funny at all they both suck ass steve carrall is a douchbag an rickys the man but he needs to make more movies my opinion

  • The cleaner at 1:03: You finished in there?

  • @jahhenry40 The cleaner bit cracks me up the most :-)

  • the awkward moments of this show sometimes makes me feel uncomfortable watching it but its so funny i can't stop watching.

  • the american version sucks balls.

  • makes me cringe so much

  • He has such a massively infectious laugh it must have been painful fotr many to resist joining, Dawn was cracking.

  • It's so funny when he says, "I'd rather be dead... in that situation, to be honest." :D

  • 10 ppl didn't like this?

"come on get into it. I'm david brent. You've been the best"...and he runs out and comes back in, pissed off.

    CLASSIC

  • the american show is slightly made easier accessible, the british show is full to the brim with wit, laced with subtlety. i dunno americans need everything to be dumbed down for em. Only one conclusion there i can think of

  • lmao at the start when he throws the cap

  • Toe curlingly funny.

  • ' in a forward by duncan goodhew' ! i'm shaking laughing just typing this

  • @skguy7 That would be foreword....

  • "Your reaping the rewards...sure. but OI BRENT, is all you care about chasing the Yankee dollar?"

I always feel sick from laughing at this show !

  • "Get out."

  • 3:15

Woman in blue is on the brink of cracking up.

  • love the hat in the face!

  • @MisterAtoms

    Haha well spotted

  • I seriously lose it every time he hits play and the music starts.

  • Holy shit this is painfully good

  • "I'm not 18 anymore, I'm thirty-ni-naw, I'm thir-thh... y'know, th- I-I'm in my 30's."

  • Ricky Gervais is a genius! He has a very special sense of humor! The best! :)

  • "No? good..." "have you finished in there?" "no! i'm in the..." love that part

  • make like a bannna & split ...classic

  • anyobdy know how he got hired (in the context of the show) do to a motivational speech? Thi scene is high larious

  • love it how he's looking at the fat chap all the way through!

  • im still loling at this aha

  • The script-writing for this show is absolute genius! The segment of Brent's speech involving 'putting down' people without arms and legs is followed by his 'laughter is the best medicine' segment - does he actually expect people to join him laughing after speaking about such a controversial topic? And then at the end: 'They seemed to go for it though, didn't they'

    Best comedy series ever created!!!
