@cassie7373 I can't fit the whole story on here, but Oedipus was abandoned by his parents when he was a baby, so when he grew up he set out on a journey, killed his father, not knowing that was his dad. His dad was a king so Oedipus became king of that land. His mother was the Queen and was still alive, so his mom became his wife. (Remember he doesn't know the queen is his mom) They have kids together. Eventually they find out and the queen, kills herself. Google the whole thing. It's so sad. :c
@Jeremy12three actually the music doesn't relate the story that way.
For there are many versions. The queen would be needed to make kids (lots of them). Oedipus would be son number 32. His mother would have had postpartum depression.
In an attempt of making her happier, the son would have had an incestuous relation with her, so he was not only number 32 now but something more.
The part of his father and the rest I'm not sure but this is the song's perspective on the story :)
Story: Boy feels neglected by his parents mainly his mother. And the queen in kind of OCD and because she had to make children for the king made her depressed (postpartum depression) Anyway, he resolves to have sex with his mom. (similar to Oedipus) You see he's obsessed with her because of her neglect, and cause if he fucks her he' be more than a number.
Oedipus Complex...The main character in the song is the most interested in his mother. It says Oedipus Rex, and combines it with royalty, because the Oedipus Complex was taken from his story. As for the 32's, I dont immediately know where that came from, but Regina likes to take other sources, sometimes even her personal life, and puts hints into her songs.. also, Oedipus was known for solving the riddle of the Sphinx, and the 32's and us finding what they mean, could be a riddle for us,
Wow, I apologize for my lame comment from two year ago. I was such a... freshman. I mean honestly, "lol" in response to a regina song? Grammar mistakes? I'm much more respektful now, I swear.
32 is a still goshdamn number!

@JoaquimMilheiro I don't see how your version makes any more sense than mine...
Jeremy12three 2 days ago
@Jeremy12three Just the part of postpartum depression… maybe because of "to see me made her awful sad"
Even though I think your version may be more accurate historically
JoaquimMilheiro 17 hours ago
@JoaquimMilheiro I guess. It's whatever the listener wants it to be.
