fallout 3 is fun and it has alot to do in it, but the thing is u cant keep playing after u beat it, and oblivion has more playtime and things to download in it like shivering isles. the plot line for fallout is used up too much like gears of war and stuff. fallout 3 is good but i like oblivion better. oblivion has mor to do and mor ppl and better storyline, but fallout is better if u like guns and dont care if u have to restart the ENTIRE game again.

@khaazam Yeah, im still playing. I have almost 60 hours I think. You just roam the wasteland. There are SOOOO many wastelander stories to discover, just because they aren't marked as a quest. You can still find them.

fallout 3 beats oblivion in some ways, (deeper personalities, harder bosses, a wider varieties of weapons like guns, hand to hand, and grenades, gives perks, ect.) but oblivion has beauty and requires determination(sharp graphics, skilled design plots,less health, has puzzles and charismatic levels that NEED smarts.) in short, i give F3 a 9.5 out of 10 and oblivion an 8. sure, oblivion looks nice, but it doesn't have the potential that gamers need. sure its not crusty or blown up, but not best.

I always wanted to try Fallout 3, but I had problems with installing it so I never played it and I can't say anything bad or good about Fallout 3. I played and still playing Oblivion and I love it. And I think I would still choose Oblivion even if I had played Fallout 3. I'm more of a sword not gun person. :)

Fallout 3 feels more cookie cutter. Small guns + VATS = you win. Try to go melee, unarmed, or big guns you find yourself out of health or out of ammo. However, Fallout 3 feels more like an RPG due to more speech options. Its not as linear as Oblivion.

In Oblivion you can't be as aggressive as in Fallout b/c guards are 10 levels highers and their are LOTS of essential NPCs (unlike Fallout 3). There's more incentive to go loot hunting since you need more armors, and over leveling can ruin you.

Cookie Cutter"? what difficulty were you playing on in fallout? I use a the "chinese sword" plenty of times in fallout (I got my melee up), I do fine. The only reason I can see oblivion having more essential NPC's is because it's world is bigger.

These are my two favorite games. They are also the reason I have lost countless hours of my life :( But between the two, I like Fallout 3 better. The reason is that it seems like they took Oblivion gameplay and improved it. (I didn't like trying to get 100 in all the magic levels, it took forever) However, perhaps if Fallout 3 had come out first, then I would have liked Oblivion more for the same reason. Both great games, and I would like to see more like them.

I like them both the same in different ways. For one part, Oblivion has alot to do, and more quests or missions. Fallout 3 has more DLCs. In fact the DLCs are really good plus Oblivion doesnt have any. Oblivion has a wide variety of character paths to take. FAllout 3 does also, but not as good. Fallout 3 also has a cooler setting and Oblivion another medival game. Fallout 3 has a cooler storyline. Idc whice one you guys like better i play both.
