And if you really wan't me to continue, I will. Ever seen what most municipalities use for the HEAVIEST DUTY plows on the market? Or what the MILITARY uses when snow becomes an issue? I will give you not one, but TWO COMPANIES from Wisconsin that also make great plows. Municipalities use Wausau plows and the Military uses Oshkosh for their snowblower and snow plow outfits. Still think Maine has the market on snow handling machines? I don't.
@MotoScootMech now we are getting somewhere . At that level of plowing they DONT you are correct both Wausau plows and about anything that Oshkosh does is first class in a large way. I thought we were just discussing snowplows for pickup trucks! Sorry if the comments offended you in any way Moto............... just our personal opinions.
@articguide Ok you're right, plows for municipalities and military vehicles are different from snow plows, so I guess that point was a bit misguided... I guess I was just speaking for all plows made in Wisconsin. I wasn't offended at all, sometimes you have to put your mean face on when you're arguing on the internet >.< . Still the author of this video seemed rediculously proud of her plow.
Well I wanted you to know exactly how I feel about them. We have had them since 1972 and they were the best then and still are after all the years. They still comand 70% of the market place. Good olde Yankee products.
@articguide And wait a sec, 70% of the market place? Where are your facts based from? Can you explain please. Usually when I see plows on trucks they're colored red, and when they are colored yellow, its usually a Meyer plow on the front of a truck. Please back your statistics up and maybe I'll learn something. Don't get me wrong, I like Fisher plows, but I don't like people being overally-pompous with the products they support.
We have tryed the Boss plows and they are a nice plow but still have a ways to go to catch up with our Maine Made plows that have been in service since the Michigan outfit was still in diapers! FISHER plows are still the Cadillac of snow plows . PERIOD.
@articguide Really?? By Maine Made you do mean Fisher, right? Hahahahaha, more ignorant arrogance with people on this video's page. Fisher may be HQd out of Maine, but everything is MILWAUKEE MADE right here on the Northside of Milwaukee @ Douglas Dynamcs. It's a damn cool factory, you should come out and see it... hahaha. By the way, Western plows are not only made at Douglas Dynamics too, but are also engineered in Milwaukee as well. I will agree with you about Boss however.
Well your right about that they have and 99% of them DONT work correctly thats why we sell so many of ours ............. people get tired of not being able to steer the tractor and all the digging in and other problems associated with the weight of the loader arms resting on top of the plow .............
i fabricated a plow fram that mounts directly to fram of tractor that i can swap to bucket the problem is it is to rigid and digs sometimes i mounted feet on blade and 1 steel caster under plow fram this helped . parterguns dezine is better top chain lets plow flote
Well thank you . I can tell you that there was ALOT of research went into designing the adaptor and it is one of those things that looks very simple but in reality it was quite complex. Of course now that we have the design down like everything else in life "there is nothing to it"! The ability of the plow floating up and down WITH OUT the weight of the loader arms bearing down on it is really the only way that a plow can work correctly . Good luck with your system!
Ha ha well send me the $4-5000 and I will!!!!! Actually I have just finished installing a nice rubberized canvas on yesterday that cost 1/10 of the price of a factory cab and will do the same job for me for the 3-4 mos that I need one and then I can just snap it right off this spring and roll it up and put it away when I dont want one on the tractor from April thru Oct!
Ha Ha thats what you think ........... it pushes more than my 4X4 pickup did, and on about 1/6th of the fuel per driveway! I have had people drive 200 miles to watch this little JD work the Fisher Plow and all were amazed. It pushes dry snow med snow and wet snow just fine!
Well they do mount them directly to the frame the big disadvantage with that is you are limited like a pickup to how high you can push the snow....... and our mount does allow you to swap right to the bucket in 2 mins........ and a space shuttle is simple to fab up for N.A>S>A> but the avg guy would not think it very simple.
We had about a weeks work on the CAD program and researching everything to get this mount right it wasnt really simple at all till we got it right.........................
