I will be visiting Denver at the end of october and I want to go the mountains with wife and a little daughter. Since I have never been into that kind of wheater, I am quite scared to get through it. Well, seems like this Estes Park is really nice for families.. any tips to enjoy there as much as possible and safely?
I've been going to Estes Park all my life. I love it there more than anything, also where I hope to live one day. Anyway, I love the food at the Baldpate Inn, it's an awesome place the veiw is quite awesome. The bizarre weather that you were talking about in the beginning of the video is actually quite common in the mountains. Anyway, I'm happy you enjoyed your vacation in the Rocky Mountains. I very much liked your video as well. :)
I've been going to Estes Park every year of my life. Yes, even when I was still in my mother's stomach. My parents were dead-broke working class people, but they've made it out there every year since 1976.
Make this a RITUAL. It will do things to your life that you can't explain. Your video almost made my cry and I'm a 24 year-old huge tough guy! ;-p I've stayed everywhere from the old youth hostel that was there, to Castle Mountain, to the Baldpate. If you ever need info, get at me!
Stayed at Estes Park in log cabins some 20 years ago while backpacking, this proves that it was not just a dream! All I have is a dozen photos or so of the place, would have been good with a digital camera back then.
