  • May all beings be free from suffering.

  • Maybe fellow YouTubers can tell me but I think after the Buddha declared that to live is to suffer he said that through enlightenment we would be spared from suffering.

  • Beautiful way of life, ty

  • Good overview of the basics, thank you.

  • everyone has their own way of dealing with life and all of them are fine as long as they have nothing to do with christianity XD

  • @TraceurLannon It's not Christianity most people despise, I think (well, sort of). It's the evangelical and simplistic bullshit which has come to be part of the religious package. Christianity doesn't look at things on a deeper level; it analyzes actions, as opposed to motives behind actions. This, in my opinion, is its largest flaw. If everyone had free will, and God knew that we all had free will, and could also read our minds, he'd know that the only reason why most of us followed his rule.

  • @MoonLightFacade ...was because of the fact that we wouldn't be "saved" if we didn't. The concept of "good" or "evil" has to come from within and not be initiated by the wave or threat of a finger, else it contradicts the entire point.

Where was I? Oh, yes, Christians (along with other religions, including Atheists: every belief has its share of "I am right and you are wrong so you should join my belief system") tend to be the most primitive and illogical in how they deal with their belief.

  • @MoonLightFacade Many people are impressionable, but (and, like with everything, nothing is absolute) most Christians these days consist of materialist, media boughten and sold, T.V. glued conventionalists who have grown up, generation after generation, with families who were conditioned in our society to follow our culture without thought or any form of questioning. The funny thing is that they're not even aware of it. The media does a good job of pulling the wool over a human's eyes.

  • @MoonLightFacade I suppose, now that I think about it, that you're right. But most U.S. born Christians are like this because of elements which have influenced the way our culture operates.

Many other religions are just as (if not, more) mindless in my opinion, but Christianity has been the number one religion which has caused the most issues throughout the world, both in history and present day.

  • Yeah I was abused as a child which is not what I wanted so the implication is I was at fault for having attachement to not wanting to be abused. My god what he is saying is rather simplified to say the least. So when someone is starving to death the only reason they are suffering is due to attachments? Or when someone is betrayed their pain is all due to attachment ( upadana) I strongly disagree. In my view this teaching is False View, Michi Ditti.

  • Buddhism is no more real than a 3 year olds imaginary friend.

  • Suffering is the universal truth..detachment is the way to pure happiness..Saadhu..
