  • they try and make it look so intense but it's probably second nature to Sting, Andy, and Stuart by now.

  • "i`ll send an SMS to the world"....

  • 00:03 drum fail

  • Love in it...

  • This was before The Police made nice and reunited for their big 2007-08 world tour. I love during the intro when Stuart is playing his over-the-top virtuosic stuff that Sting hates (but which makes the song 100x better than when Sting plays it with his touring band) and then kind of looks his direction, like "Deal with it, Beeyatch!"

  • How could they have played this in 03? They didn't reunite til 2008...

  • Stewart C is insane, and then you have sting and Andy who (in my opinion) are sucking ass

  • stewart copeland fan!!!

  • copeland looks like animal back there. such a freaking beast, and never gets any recognition....

  • Great song !!!

  • @heavymetalsinner1 finally someone with common sense

  • @beachchilly glad to see i made someone happy but yeah i just don't see the appeal in rap to me its just fast talking with a lot of swear words and talking about women and drugs its just stupid i feel sorry for all those teens out there listening to it they should listen to this more often

  • LOOOOOOOOOOOL IT DOES

  • so fucking good, miss the time!,

  • Stewart Copeland, is still one of the most underappreciated drummers around!

His work with the Police aside, he has produced a wide body of work as a solo, and collaborator on countless projects.

Animal Logic, could have been big!

His work On Stanley Clarke's "East River Drive", is exceptional!

  • @free2bpoppie: I hear ya, dude! Stewart Copeland kicks ass on so many levels but most people only know him as the drummer from The Police.

  • @wmdbassplayer Creatively, Copeland is still an innovative influence on drummers around the world!

It can be difficult for him to be seen as anything other than the drummer from the police, for some, because he is prominantly displayed in the three man setting. (Even with Sting played as the leader), but he is undeniable as a force.

  • i love the fact that they all improv all the time. stewart copeland fucked up the start, but he's still insanely great

  • shit audience

  • sting!!!!!

  • @AngryCigarette this better not be that sting piece of SHIT!!!!!

  • os outros integrantes do THE POLICE estao uma bagaceira e o STING ta gato , lindo gostoso uiiii

  • I have been singing my message in a bottle since Jan 17, 2009, the first day I got sick: and all I can say that message is is this: all people peace on earth!!!!!!

  • yeeeah, this is the best...

  • I love songggggggggggg

  • vampire weekend

  • @slavisataraba true..in fact i love your daddy.We know each other well..in a biblic way.

  • Wow those backup singers sound like something out of southpark.

  • Lmao!

  • ahahahaah right

  • @flatblackstrat made me lol

  • @flatblackstrat The backup singers have to be careful not to over shadow sting.

  • I wish tere was a band out like tese nw !! I love tis song !!!! x3

Älskar dig som fan:sedan 1979,visste du det ?

    Nu vet du d iaf!!!

Fast d va du som börja!!

  • vad vill du?

  • In my opinion, the best song of Police.

  • i would have to agree with that.....

  • I agree

  • @Francesco23563 Stewart is a GOD!

  • he is quite loud for a traditional grip player

  • so?...what´s wrong with that

  • You can actually play just as loud with traditional grip. I find it can be easier to hit rimshots sometimes that way.

  • Back Up Singers? No wonder they broke up, that would piss me off too. Sting can be a real dick sometimes,

  • neil peart

  • Awesome Version \/

  • message in a bottle is the best

  • Damn straight. Perfect song to open a concert

  • meh

  • not stewarts best performance..........

  • i was thinking the same thing...

  • how so? i think he was trying to do a little too much at times but other than he still sounded spot on

  • far too much things going on and trying to create a bigger sound than can be done and listen to the other instruments there relativly quite like ok i know stewarts a loud drummer but take into account venue speed of song and that but whatever stewarts an absolute musical genius they had not at this stage been playing 20 years together so yeah he might've been rusty but sure my opinion hope i backed it up well enough

  • uh... huh? I understood none of that. Make it easier for semi-smart people like me to read

  • we want more ice cream!!!

  • molto bello dal vivo!!!

  • Great song!

  • ♥COOL♥

  • were the fuck is the dammed solo

  • Happily, it wasn't the last time ;D

  • what was that?

  • Cool, this song rocks!

  • Airbus A320-200.

  • ??????????

  • haha its an Aircraft. Just being random

  • only b744;]

  • Haha 388 all the way.

  • I prefer B52 :)

  • hhahaa. A340-600 is niccceee

  • ya no one is better than Keith Moon

    but damn Copeland is awesome

    def one of the best

  • copeland is AWESOME!

  • At this ceremony(not sure if thats spelled right) copeland said he was the best drummer in the world. Its easy to see why.

  • Are you serious? It's impossible to see why. I am a huge fan of his hi-hat work but there is no way in hell that he is the best drummer in the world. He completely overplayed that song and hasn't got a fifth of the chops of leading drummers like Vinnie Colaiuta, Thomas Lang, Jojo Mayer, Virgil Donati, Danny Carey, Dennis Chambers, Steve Gadd, etc. He is very good, though, so please don't take offense. I just can't see any justification in him saying that he is the best (or even in the top 100)

  • Im not a drummer so im not very knowledgable on the subject. I just know that Keith Moon was the best ever(opinion). U seem like u would know more about that stuff than me.

  • Much of music is opinion-based. For example, my favorite drummer is Danny Carey, but I know there are drummers out there who are more skilled than him (not many though). I like Copeland a lot, and Keith Moon was pretty good also (he had a style completely unique to him as far as I know). I am a drummer, so I try to listen to the best drumming I can in order to improve myself. That's why I even care about things like that.

  • Keith moon ?? haha , did you know that half the time he was playing with the who they played the drum track and he faked it because he was to drunk to play , but i dont think there is a best drummer , its all based on opinion...

  • And you would know this how?

  • Stewart is a drum GOD!!!!!

  • Steward is from Canada, Sting and Andy from England. Best band of the 80's

  • Stewart was actually born in Virginia.

  • the drummer for Mana is Sick!

  • definatly better when they practice....like their last tour

  • Tell the truth! Knopfler played the solo on this song in the studio!

  • this dosent happen often but i just witnessed a genius..copeland!

  • So cool to see Stewart Copeland behind that kit. He certainly still has it. Absolutely love his style and the sound of his drums, especially that snappy snare drum and his ride cymbal.

  • copeland fucks up the start haha!

    he's still AMAZING

  • Oh, that definitely wasn't a fuckup. He's got the chops, he knows he's got them, and he likes to flash em. Actually, I believe that's part of the contention between him and Sting. You've got two people with strong egos and ability vying for the spotlight .

  • If you think that this drummer is te best you don't have see the drummer of Maná. I don't like it much, but if I see something extraordinary, I admit that is extraordinary. sorry for my bad english XD

  • lol g8 song

  • gate song? lol its GR8

  • :) best cmnt

  • It's neither, jackass.

Great. It's two more characters and halves the distance your finger has to travel.

  • shut the hell up! im not a jackass i was just telling how Great was spelled in kinda text language!

i hate people swearing at me and if you want a enemy you got one! think before you post your comment!

  • good kisser huh? why dont you kiss my ass

  • i do like the green drum set

  • the drummer once turned up at the hospital he worked at and my dad hepled him with something about his eye

  • Neat

  • that drummer, Stewart Copeland, is in my opinion, the best on the planet...still

  • not the best, cause there is not such thing, but he's one of the most innovative drummers in the world

  • Lol DAMN Copeland's best drum performance of this song

  • did you know that Stewart Copeland played the drums so hard that he eventually broke them by the end of the peformances.

  • this concert was on sting's marry party???O_o

  • they are great.

    stewart is really good drummer.

  • the police is cool

  • k le paso en el segundo 4?

  • Stewart Copland(Drums) did all the soundtrack music for the T.V. series show "The Equalizer"

  • ..And quite a few films.

  • que buena banda carajoo

lastima q me la perdi :(

  • who is the vocalist?sting?

  • yes, sting is the vocalist and bassist

  • where are these guys from?

  • Drummer is from America two other guys are English.

  • sub dé condera!comom de bam de vá,comonnuvia de manacaxai....

  • muy bueno !!!!

  • Since many years ago,I have felt this is the result of our individualistic social culture. I am from Chile and this is the existencial situation of my chilean fellowmen Osvaldo German

  • Eh... I've seen them play better. The lead guy's effects aren't fitting for the song. He should've used a more clean-like sound. And I think Sting sacrificed a lot of the singing lines just so that he could make his bass part a little more interesting in the chorus. Drummer's amazing, as usual... although he did make that teeny weeny mistake in the beginning of the song. They still sounded good though, don't get me wrong :)

  • anyone else notice copelands screw up in the beginning. i fucking love stewart. so good.

  • Can anyone describe what the "mistake" , or "screw up" by Copeland is? I don't know how to identify it if nobody says what it is, precisely.

  • its only in the beginning. the guy is a kick ass drummer. but his small fill around 3 seconds was hesitant and weak and kind of off. listen closely and youll hear.

  • All I hear is that the volume goes down after Stewart finishes off his flams with a four stroke ruff. Unclear as to whether it was a matter of stick placement or mic volume being altered.

  • You are right. The sound was pulled down on the snare making it sound weak at three seconds.

  • That's what I suspected. Stewart is a pro.

  • The guitar sounds off, andy is a great player but this sounds off to me

  • the whole song and basically the whole band is lead by stewart cuz he is such an amazing drummer

  • Oh gotta love Copeland's tiny hi-hat

  • He uses a 13 inch I think. But man, his ride is amazing.

  • 2003 ?????????????????????????????????

  • yes, it's from the 2003 reunion

  • Stewart is just rocking it

  • they really should have ditched the female backing singers there-whats wrong with andy's voice??????

  • it says in the description that this was the last time that the police played this song together. not entirely true anymore eh?

  • dude

    these guys will never die

these guys are gonna live on forever

  • Man, all of em are just the best ever.

All of them just BLEW ME AWAY when I saw them, but Stewart was just IT

  • Best rock band of alltime!!!

  • my bands drummer knows the drums

  • I know the guitar ;) and I'm hella sure I'm not the only one, since this is an easy but nice song

  • the best way to learn the guitar part is play either in Drop D or power chords. its really, really easy once u figure out the first chords. for drums, search for Public Radio Romance on youtube, and listen to their version of it.

  • Stewart Copeland is the man. period.

  • couldn't agree more.

  • i love this song!

  • Andy plays the main riff on the higher strings now.

    JB

  • who is singing the soft background vocals

  • my guess is the woman that you can see during the last couple seconds of the video.

  • this is a great song!im gunna try learn it!

  • what instrument are you gonna learn it on? cuz i can't really do it on drums yet...parts of it, just not the whole thing.

  • i learned the bass and guitar parts. They're not that bad. Good stretch on the guitar though. I'm sure that the hardest part to learn is the drums.

  • oh yea, i play drums, and this song is top notch. hard as dookey.

  • it's not that much. if you keep it simple, without the embellishments, it's not that hard... it's fun to play on the drums, because you can improv it a lot...

  • This version really sucks, glad they reunited later on.

  • the police rule!!!!

  • love playing this song on Guitar Hero \m/

  • like this song, but what the hell is with the squeaky backup singing...way to ruin a song!

  • damn their voice hasn't changed in thirty years.

  • Hell!!! POlice RUles Copeland is awesome!!

  • yeah, and Sting thinks hes the polices spine, ohhh man, the 3 are great, but Stu is Stu

  • Copeland rules.

  • the funny thing is this event wasn't the last time they played this song live, The Police have the reunion tour right now, I saw them live on May 30th 2007.

  • era imposible no tener a police en el salon de la fama del rock n&
