I respect your opinion and love Dave too. But Matt is an awesome drummer and has contributed so much more to PJ. Partly because hes been in the band longer. Matt has a different style, but is no less powerful. I've heard plenty of live stuff with both drummers and am a drummer myself.

I think it was something like Dave A. had gotten into what PJ has distanced themselves from..the trappings of being in a rock band, in addition to he was rumored to have a difference of opinion with the rest of the band on certain social issues...that is just my understanding

Dave Abbruzzese was the best drummer they ever had.. Matt Cameron(Played on the first TEN demos.) , Dave Krusen, Matt Chamberlin, Jack Irons and back to Matt Cameron again have nothing on Dave Abbruzzese!!!
@Brento44 Just splitting hairs here, but it was Krusen, Chamberlin, Abbruzzese, Irons, and then Cameron. Krusen is on the Ten recordings, Chamberlin on the Alive video, and Abbruzzese on the tour. I love Abbruzzese, but I still think Krusen played the biggest influence in the early sound of the band.
Dave was a Drum's animal, wild and unstoppable, just like those days PJ was!
