  • did you get to find out why he went to the other side of the road at 3:39 i would hazard a guess at not having the confidence to turn the bike in enough due to lack of experience?

  • @cocker111 - He was relying on the engine braking at times to help him reduce speed. With the wrong gear, i.e. in this case, when he closed the throttle, the bike kept going.

  • @cocker111 ah right okay that makes sense.. thought it might have been one of those things where you think you have gone into the corner too quick and don't think the bike will make it round which I did when riding in the wet on my lessons but luckily there was a junction that I could straighten up and go down..

  • Great road! and in my back yard!!

  • I love this road, it's a great twisty road with some bends that you have to be it the right gear for. I've followed many a police car driver out on B&T's training on this road

  • Things got a bit rushed from 4:04 into the twisties. I take it that as he was in 6th gear this was to cause of it.

I assume that this sort of bike has good engine breaking so would 4th be best- what were you in Nigel ?

Also did the rider exceed the speed limit on a few of the 40's and 30's?

  • @GoSportsSpex On the BMW I would have been in about 5th and yes he was a bit over in the 30's and 40's

  • I live in buntingford! always a few accidents along here mainly involveing bikes! if you want a new camera have a look at the go pro HD camera its fab!

  • Did I see you overtaking on a junction at 03:00. Very bad nigel lol, Only kidding, liked the way you held back to clear it first.

VERY VERY nice roads, could do some serious progess making on those, I know a few riders who would go too fast into some of those curves, and probaly get caught out because of the view after the corner, discounting the visual point at the road egde for speed reference

Yet another great vid Nigel, I hope to meet up with you sooner rather than later once DAS is done

  • @markgr1nyer - I was waiting for the first comment on the junction overtake, but nothing yet on the rider going over the wrong side of the road off the left hand bend.

  • @advancedbiker At least we don't disappoint LOL. Having said that I'll let you in on a secret, I didn't spot it until I noticed you holding back, then I spotted it

As for the corner thing, I think it's because you pulled him up on it straight away, no point going over old ground again

  • This is 10 minutes away from me. I love this road.

  • Have u tried angling the camera down for 1/3rd sky instead of 2/3 sky? From my photography days having to much sky in the picture would often give exposure problems.

  • @maddocksclan

Advancedbiker has a great set up and allows capture of voice to the other biker through the autocoms plus he has two other cameras on the bike which you can't do with the hero. Totally agree though the hero quality for out on your own is cool

  • @advancedbiker - if you have put it in the same place as the original it may be the CMOS that isn't as good at dealing with the frequency given off at that point- you would expect it to be better though.

  • The Drift innovation HD170 is a full HD helmet cam with an external mic capability, so you just put the mic in the helmet to narrate. Its what I use, very good quality video and audio.

  • Good to see you back in the saddle again. Looks like the new camera has problems with White balance in the early part of the ride also not coping quite as well with vibration.

Good to see the rider getting help after an accident

  • @GoSportsSpex Thanks will get onto the supplier tomorrow. It is supposed to be top of the range 600tvl. Will look at vibration issue also. Need to get it right.....Normandy in a couple of weeks.

  • good to see your videos back again. what bike is the lead rider on?

  • @crazyjoyce Thanks, just wondering if I have made the right choice with a new camera - 600 tvl, supposed to be better definition. It was very sunny and the sun was low...... Ah the bike - Honda CB1000

  • @advancedbiker cb1000r ;) same angular exhaust as a fireblade which threw me to begin with! the quality of the footage looks excellent!

  • I'm so glad your back after the winter, many thanks for the uploads.

  • Even though I don't ride a motorbike,both my brothers do.

I find these videos great viewing.

One of my brothers is a 'bike cop' in Vancouver, the other has an r1,I think both ride safely, either way, lol,I regularly email these videos to them both :)

    Thanks for posting.

  • @robert140602 - Thanks for the feedback.. Comments like this make it worth the effort in posting them on Youtube.

  • Watcha Nigel, well at least i know what the weather's like back home my parents live

just up the road in Royston, know this area well Nigel my old stompin ground...

With your new camera, i've noticed you're getting vibration where have you got this one mounted..i wouldn't get rid of the bullet cameras not on the bmw....

    Regards Glenn ..

  • @27121957 - Thanks Glenn. It is mounted in the same place as the previous camera. I have only changed the camera, thought by going for more tvl, would get better picture. Having my doubts. Still have the old one. Will need to do some experimenting......

  • @27121957 - Thanks Glenn. It is mounted in the same place as the previous camera. I have only changed the camera, thought by going for more tvl, would get better picture. Having my doubts. Still have the old one. Will need to do some experimenting...... PS I am running them on 9 volts like before, perhaps putting them tp 12 volts may do it. See what you mean with the vibration. Near objects are fine, just a line occasionally higher up the screen. Out Tuesday will try again.

  • i think your due a new camera , really hard to see right into the distance on this...

  • @jimbo80982 - I know, I know.....Do I get rid of all the bullet cameras and go for HD ? Need to work on this new set up first, some tweaking I think ?

  • @advancedbiker i think you should opt for a helmet cam instead personally , that way the viewer can see where you are looking , helps them understand what to look out for. There are many hd cameras that can do this such as the GoPro Company (they make cameras specifically for helmets and can be attatched to almost anything. i think theres a sucker kit for em too) but there are MANY others

  • @jimbo80982 -Thanks will look into it, but I need one with audio in for the commentary.

  • @advancedbiker i think some of them come with attatched mics , some come with seperate mics (such as on a wire , wireless ones) but i guess , push comes to shove that you could set a seperate mic up to record your voice if thats all you want to record

  • I recently traveled 163miles from Hull to Whitby and back again on my 50cc scooter. Even at 30mph, planning ahead and looking at your exit and the upcoming hazards really helped me. Cheers, I really benefit from your videos :)

  • @joewarcupinhull - Thank you for the feedback, makes posting these vids worth the effort. Safe Riding

  • @joewarcupinhull thats some ride have u not thought off making a couple of tweeks as it helps on nationals. i hate how close some people cut back in i am editing a video that shows how close some of them get

  • i ride that road quite a bit with EAMG and Essex rospa am on group rides its a nice road.
